POSTAL 4: No Regerts - 'Stop! Hammer Time!' Update [1.0.8]
It’s a long time coming (and for that we sincerely apologize) but here is a massive content update for your enjoyment!
Before we go any further - this is not the promised upcoming first major performance update. We still have some kinks to work out with that, but we’re really close, and you won’t have long to wait for it. We did consider holding off this update a bit longer to incorporate the performance updates too - but some many of you are rightfully starting to get worried due to how long it’s been since the last update, so we wanted to put your mind at rest and prove we’re still hard at work.
With that out of the way, let's talk about some highlighted new features in this update. The headlining feature is not one, but TWO new weapons! The iconic Sledge hammer makes a return along side the all new 'Ass Mallet'! We also have Police reinforcements rappelling from helicopters! Until you shoot them down, that is. You can now buy permits that allow you to carry weapons with complete legal impunity!
Another focus of ours has been working on bringing back of some features from POSTAL 2 that were noticeably absent from POSTAL 4… such as hate groups! No longer will your violence against various factions have no consequences later in the game. Remember how in P2 it was possible to drop and piss on a doughnut, only to see a cop later pick it up and eat it, throwing up violently as a result? Well you can now do that in P4, too! We’ve also implemented the ability to play fetch with dogs using severed heads.
Oh, and we've reduced the size of the build by a further 5gbs for good measure.
This is a big update so there is a lot more to chew on, check out the full list below.
Again, our apologies for the delay in getting this update out as we restructured to work with a console porting studio in order to start on the major performance improvements, but with that all ironed out we can get back to a more frequent update schedule.
Helicopters! Another type of Police reinforcements will now start spawning from helicopters. They are also destructible!
Texts App! Hints and Game Tips will now be displayed and saved in its own app on your Phone!

Improved Going POSTAL Challenges! You will now have an option to replay a challenge after completing it
Collectible Tiered Rewards! We’ve overhauled the system for earning rewards after collecting the doll collectibles. Now, after collecting 10/30/50 of each doll, the rewards will be redeemable in the new ‘REWARD’ vending machines as opposed to spawning in crates in Anu’s Inn
Police Station confiscation mechanic! After getting arrested, your stuff will now get confiscated by Police. You’ll need to retrieve your possessions from the security rooms
Random chance for Dogs to pee!

Reworked Doll collectibles! You will now have an option to sell the collected dolls at vendor stands spread throughout the maps
Nitro Upgrade for Scooters in Scooter Stations! For an extra fee, you will be able to purchase a Nitro add-on for your scooter. You can also buy a Nitro item which is a bit more expensive but will give you an option to use it on any bystander Scooter you might have rudely stolen or just any you find laying around
New vehicle models! We replaced the old car meshes with new, better looking models
Working fireworks stand next to the Polling Station!
Max Capacity indicator! It will appear over pickups that you can’t pick up due to the capacity limit being reached on that particular item
Beret hat for Wipe Militants to better differentiate them between regular NPCs!
Three new Going POSTAL Challenges!‘Crypto Hater’ challenge in Riverside, ‘Scoot Scoot Motherfuckers’ challenge in the Prison tile and ’Elite Sniper’ in the Mexico side
Dynamic animation system that controls the animations of the face depending on the sound! This will make the NPCs look less doll-like and more expressive
Animal crowds (Rats, Cockroaches) to various areas in the game. You will notice rats and cockroaches spawn in bunches mostly in dirty / unkempt places
Playing fetch with dogs! Now, you can use NPCs heads to have some fun with dogs
Per-day dynamic bystander weapon spawn system! As each day passes, more bystanders will have weapons
Permits! You can now buy certain permits which will grant you extra conveniences, primarily when open carrying weapons in front of others. These are permanent status boosts that remain in effect until the end of the game. Note that using these weapons improperly will still incur the wrath of the law!
Extremely Small Weapons Permit - Lets you flop your dick around with complete legal impunity!
Small Side Arms Permit – Allows the player to open carry weapons like the Pistol and Revolver without worry of alarming fellow citizens or getting arrested by law enforcement.
Large Weapons Permit – Allows the player to open carry weapons like the Shotgun, Machine Gun, AK-47, and Hunting Rifle.
Heavy Weapons Permit – Allows the player to open carry weapons like the Rocket Launcher.

POSTAL 4: No Regerts - Development Update
Hey all!
Hope you’ve all been enjoying POSTAL Brain Damaged! No doubt having finished that game - you are eagerly awaiting the next big update for POSTAL 4!
This update will take longer to get out but for good reason. Last month, Pushka - a console porting studio - joined us internally to help us get the game into better shape performance wise as we continue to add content and polish up the game. This process required us to move over to a custom version of Unreal 4.27, which meant we have to adapt the way we work. The engine change also introduced some regressions that we’re currently working on fixing. We seem to be back up to full speed now and will work towards getting a new update out, but in the meantime, here is a small slice of what you can expect from 1.0.8 when it releases!
Here are just some of the things you can expect to see in the next update:
Helicopters! Another type of reinforcements will now start spawning if you start causing major havoc. They are also destructible!
Two new weapons - The Sledgehammer and Rubber Mallet! The classic Sledgehammer is back, ready for bovine insertion, and who knows where the rubber mallet will end up…
Hate Groups! A notable missing feature from P2 returns to P4! Now you’ll have to better watch your back while going about your daily business as groups that you’ve upset come after you!
Nitro Upgrade for Scooters in Scooter Stations! For an extra fee, you will be able to purchase a Nitro add-on for your scooter. You can also buy a Nitro item which is a bit more expensive but will give you an option to use it on any bystander Scooter you might have rudely stolen or just any you find laying around Edensin. The effectiveness of the Nitro itself was improved as well, you'll have more of it to burn through and it will also regenarate faster.
Three new Going POSTAL Challenges!‘Crypto Hater’ challenge in Riverside, ‘Scoot Scoot Motherfuckers’ challenge in the Prison tile and ’Elite Sniper’ in the Mexico side.
Dynamic animation system that controls the animations of the face depending on the sound! This will make the NPCs look less doll-like and more expressive.
New Animals! Cows, Sheep, Chickens, Goats and Pigs will now appear in certain areas of Edensin.
Donut pickup! Just like in P2, you will be able to pee on a dropped donut and have an unfortunate NPC pick one up and eat it. Ew
Inventory upgrades! As we continue to monitor and respond to your threads on our forums, one of the most commonly mentioned things that you guys were unhappy with is the limited inventory space in P4. When the next update goes live, you will be able to purchase two types of backpacks from vending machines. One will double your inventory space and second will remove the limiation completely, so that you can hoard as many health pipes as you desire!
Although it might not quite make the next update, we are currently also working on a weapon which you have requested so many times, we had to bring it back. The Scissors! I don't want to ruin the surprise and tell you exactly how they are going to work, but rest assured, they will be fun to use! :)
The actual changelog will be more extensive as it includes a lot of fixes, quality of life or just general improvements to the existing mechanics or errands, but we hope this dev log will make you excited for the upcoming update.
Thank you all for your continued support!
Running With Scissors Team

As a final note, if you didn't get a chance to pick up one of our other cool games, now's a good chance to check them out as we are taking part in Steam's Summer Sale with those amazing deals!
POSTAL: Brain Damaged - Connoisseur Edition (OST & Art Book bundle!) + upcoming updates!
Hyperstrange friends, RWS fam!
Hyperstrange-developed POSTAL: Brain Damaged, the action-packed DOOM Eternal-like spin-off of the POSTAL series is finally here, and if you own any of the eligible RWS or Hyperstrange titles, or some other staple throwback-shooters like DUSK, Hedon, or Nightmare Reaper, you can get PBD with an additional discount added on top of -20% release discount via one of the special bundle deals.
Plus, we're happy to report it really SLAPS! With more than 1100 reviews it currently enjoys an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' rating, with more than 95% players recommending the game.
Yes, Hyperstrange really pulled this one off. The game is good and the release has been relatively bug-free despite the 2-week delay made explicitly to implement some bugs and stay on-brand. But it wouldn't be a POSTAL release if something haven't gone wrong. Many of you were waiting for the release of the POSTAL: Brain Damaged Official Soundtrack. The wait is finally over! The OST has arrived, and you can get it separately or bundled with the official Art Book in the POSTAL: Brain Damaged - Connoisseur Edition.
UPCOMING UPDATES
The Hyperstrange Dev team is very grateful for the amazing reception of PBD. This gives them even more motivation to improve and expand the game post-release. Here's what to expect soon:
Post-release fix - an update taking care of the known issues reported by the players, that slipped into the full release (ETA: One week)
Balancing update - some players, as well as some internet micro-celebrities, have brought to our attention that the game offers way to much ammo if you explore the levels 'Quake-style', and far too little if you prefer to push on 'Doom Eternal-style'. The update will take care of that issue, allowing everyone to enjoy the game in their preferred playstyle. The update will also reconfigure some of the enemy positioning, spawns, and behavior. (ETA: One month)
New playmodes - With that taken care of, the dev team will proceed to expanding the game itself, introducing an oft-requested horde mode, as well as another playmode offering a new, and replayable PBD experience. (ETA: This summer)
More to be announced!
Hyperstrange and RWS are both extremely pleased with the reception of POSTAL: Brain Damaged. We're as excited as you are, to see what the future will bring to this explosive and twisted spin-off.
Your true friends and family,
Hyperstrange & RWS

A ton of crashes have been fixed, thanks for all the reports on the forums. We very much treat them as a priority as they come up.
We’ve started to make some notable headway with performance, as well as reducing the overall footprint of the install files by ~4.5gb. This is an ongoing effort so it’s likely to come down more with each passing update. As mentioned in last week's update, this month a console porting studio will join us internally with the sole mission of improving performance on the PC side, before they start working on the console port itself.
Zack Ward’s Voice Pack!

POSTAL 4: No Regerts - 'I AM The Law' Update [1.0.6]
A cop themed update for you today! The Dude’s cop outfit has been added to the police station, meaning you can terrorize lawbreakers legally! Be Careful not to raise the suspicions of your fellow law enforcement officers though by going after innocent bystanders… Although if you do, you can always grab a new badge from a vending machine to make them forget about your police brutality. Check out the Dude’s never seen before sleeve Tats!* Furthermore - should you break the law yourself, cops will now come after you on their scooters!
This update further expands the subtitle system to include cutscenes (more languages are coming in a future update). There are also various QOL improvements such as Going Postal challenges granting you the required weapon/powerup you need to complete it (if you didn’t have it already) Bosses now have health bars so you can see exactly how bullet spongy they really are!
Various crashes and glaring bugs have been fixed in this update, see the full list below.
A note on performance; while this update does not bring any significant performance improvements - we promise you they are coming. Next month we will start working with a console porting house, and before they even start the porting process they will be joining us internally for a couple of months to get the performance of the PC built in a much better place.
Oh, and we’ve done something to try and fix the slow patching process with Steam after the update has downloaded, let us know how that goes.

POSTAL 4: No Regerts - 'Mind Blowing' Update [1.0.5]
Alright! So this is our first update since 1.0 which is not simply a hotfix to patch issues - it also adds a few requested features. Many of you have asked us to ramp up POSTAL’s over the top comic gore and dismemberment, so in this update we’ve added brains to head explosions. There has also been comments saying P4 is missing some expected features found in P2, and we’ve started addressing that by bringing back the suicide button for when you want to end the game on your own terms. Oh, and we’ve added the PIII dude coat to go along with Corey’s voice option. Finally, while Third Person is not really an official feature of P4, far more of you are using it than we expected, so we’ve added more animations to it and they now cover collectables.
And naturally there are a few notable bug fixes. The waypoint system is now far more functional. The subtitles system has been expanded to include the comic book intro and outros.
Brains to head explosions. Exploding an NPCs head will sometimes result in a brain popping out!
Speaking of head explosions, the sucide button for the Dude has been added! (U key by default)
Going POSTAL challenge in Desert area. Completing it will reward you with a POSTAL 3 skin!
POSTAL 3 skin for The Dude!

Hotfix #4 - 1.0.4
Steam build Number:1.0.4
Hotfix #4 Update This is a fix for collision in the Pit Boss errand, preventing some players being able to put out one of the fires and hindering their progression.
We have come to realize these updates, even though small in download size, can take a while to apply the install to some people's PCs. We think we’ve cleared the most serious issues now, and will fall back to less frequent, weekly updates to prevent this inconvenience. We are also looking into what we can do on our end to make the process of applying small updates take less time for the Steam client to process.
Thanks for sticking with us during this messy launch. We'll make it right.
POSTAL 4: No Regerts - Hotfix #3 [1.0.3]
Another day, another hotfix! We actually have much more improved internally already, but we’re playing it safe regarding breaking peoples saves. We will resume updating after the weekend and are just pushing important/safe changes for now. We are currently working on changes to how the saving system works so we can update more frequently, more easily.
As well as work on bug fixing and a continued optimization effort, we have many ‘nearly there’ new features to add to the game over the coming weeks as well as AI improvements and just improving the gameplay in general.
Adjusted the Going POSTAL overlay to remove the jarring red overlay that should have been removed the last hotfix (Blame Rob)
Riverside optimization pass
Updated the Prison Worker to do routine sanity checks on the security codes, and regenerate them if they become corrupt (Addressing the “000” bug)
Collision on Car Seat near the Sewer Entrance that was making it difficult to collect a Krotchy doll
Clothing pickups lacking collision
Bug where collecting all collectables would award the achievement for completing all Rampages instead (Note: If you already got this achievement, make sure to keep an older save on hand when this update goes live, so you can actually earn this achievement)
Addressed a bug where the Robe outfit could disappear from player’s inventories if using another Dude skin
POSTAL 4: No Regerts - Hotfix #2 [1.0.2]
Er, so the last hotfix didn’t fully fix the Game Tester errand (just the intro), and managed to break Going POSTAL Challenges. So now we’re hotfixing the hotfix . At least we got the game build version number updated this time. Game dev is hard.
We did fix a couple crashes, so give us a slow clap - we need the encouragement.
Blue lines showing up during the Apocalypse
Going POSTAL challenges work again
Fixed crashes related to the queue system (seen a lot in the Mexico area)
Fix for a crash related to puddles
Fixed Game Tester Errand, for real this time, we really hope
