Fall/Spring Balance Changes Part VI (Shattered Peaks)

Fixes



  • Fixed instances where abilities, equipment and spells would not correctly handle if the unit was large or small. there are a number of things that should get unbanned, I will test these and do so at some point (case in point, mammoth club)
  • Units who are Burred will now only take 1 damage per square when knocked back
  • Fixed Aspiring Servant to correctly work with PS4 LIMs
  • Fixed Dirge's Guard to correctly work with PS4 LIMs
  • Fixed Disciple of the Scale to correctly work with PS4 LIMs
  • Fixed Familiar to correctly work with PS4 LIMs
  • Fixed Honor Guard to correctly work with PS4 LIMs
  • Fixed Neophyte to correctly work with PS4 LIMs
  • Fixed Royal Blood to correctly work with PS4 LIMs


Runes



  • With the above fix, the Equipment Rune Mammoth Club is now enabled for Ranked play

Minor quality of life hotfix

Hello all and welcome to 2023. This is just a minor hotfix to correct some issues. We hope to continue the fall/winter balance patches shortly and thank you for your patience.

Client Changes




  • Suppressed some instances where the relic/champion popup would appear when summoned units were deployed from some spells and abilities
  • Added or fixed a number of missing or incorrect combat logs
  • Added additional information during the logging in process to help debug cases where users are not able to connect or are having their connection take an extraordinarily long time

Year's End Hotfix Patch

To round out the end of 2022, we've decided to get a small hotfix out with some client side improvements. We've taken a small break from the balance changes for the fall, but we will be resuming that later in January.

User Experience Improvements



  • Added a display popup that shows what spell, relic, champion, or equipment the opponent has played. This can be turned off in the Options menu if so desired
  • Added an option to disable controller button icons even when a controller is connected. The current behavior of the icons appearing when a controller is attached is now referred to as "Automatic" and is the default for the "Show Gamepad UI" option
  • Added some more flair to the login screen


In-Game Text



  • Fixed a number of missing messages that would appear as things like "ability.stone_barrage.activate" in the combat log. Please report these as you see them in the #bugs channel of the discord.
  • Updated various text to reflect changes made in recent updates

Art & Effects



  • Fixed an issue where Ice Storm was causing performance issues
  • Fixed an issue where Arctic Trap was causing performance issues
  • Added more high quality art for Runes and Avatars.


Balance Changes




  • Corrected some missing items from previous patches:

    • Invoke: Intercedence now grants 1 stack of Wind Shield when triggered or activated
    • Mirror Blade now only creates 1 illusion rather than 2

  • Fixed an issue where Sea Song had no visual or audio effect. Note, this spell is still missing a major visual component
  • Shortened the time that Soultap and Soultap Feedback would delay other actions
  • Fixed an issue where many abilities and spells were missing an effect of the screen fading or becoming brighter

October Client Patch and Fall Balance Changes Part I (Forglar Swamp)

Client Changes



Lobby



  • Re-added the Drums of War display in the lobby. This will be cycled to automatically if you wait or you can click the third pip under the display that initially shows Quests
  • Fixed Custom Game creation to show the full map name when selecting the map


In-Game Messages and Localization



  • When the client connects, it will now download the rules text from the game api in order to make sure rules text and descriptions are up to date


Art & Effects



  • Fixed an issue that could cause units to have visual artifacts (black lines usually) around them
  • Changed the visual effect for Spell Resistance to use the new effect that was added for the Shattered Peaks shrine bonus (for performance reasons)


Fall Balance Changes Part 1



For today, we have started to introduce the Fall balance changes. Due to the size of these changes, they will be rolled out over a number of days. Today's update brings changes to Forglar Swamp. More details can be found at http://forums.poxnora.com/

Hotfix for issues with Immobile

We have deployed a client-side hotfix which will correct an issue in which abilities which added Immobile could error on the player's client, causing the client to not correctly remove the ability in its local game state. This would prevent the unit from moving as if it was Immobile even though the ability was in fact removed in the server's game state. This may have also affected a couple of other abilities, so any cases of this should now be corrected. Thank you for everyone who reported this in the Unofficial Community Discord.
