Update #17 - Sept 23 2017 - New USPSA Stage, Designer props, start positions and more

Week #17. Another cool USPSA course by Brant Pace called Switch It Up. Lots of Designer updates this week, new props like clamshells, VTAC barricades, Start positions, shooting boxes and settings for hand positions. Also allowed players to change the system language by shooting the flag in the main menu.

Update #16 - Sept 15 2017 - New IPSC long course, designer props and Hyperkin blaster support

Week #16. Aurel Schwarz sent in a cool IPSC long course design which is pretty challenging. I've made the scoreboards unique, so only the best run will show. I've also added a cheesey golf-clap effect when you make it to the high score. Added a few props for the designer and added support for the 2nd gen Hyperkin blaster prototype.

Update #15 - Sept 9 2017 - Activators in Designer & New USPSA Stage

Week #15, we have another brand new USPSA medium course called How is your Rhythm design by Brant. I've also implemented Activators in the designer. You can create association between activators and objects that can be activated by using the Right Blue Gun. Press the MENU button a few times till you see the "*" icon and the laser beam will turn green. First click selects activators, second click selects the activated object. You can remove previous activator lines by establishing the same link again. Once to create, twice to remove. I've also added rudimentary support for multiple languages in the UI. It's rudimentary because it uses Google translate to pick words and I'm sure it's not 100% accurate. For those of you who speak different languages please let me know if there are errors. The language depends on your system selected language.

Update #14 - Sept 4 2017 - New USPS Stage & Stage Designer improvements

Alright! it's week 14 and I have a few updates. First off, a new stage by Brant Pace. He's great at making stages and I'm really impressed with the shootability of his designs. I wish I could shoot them in real life. Next up, added a few more paper objects and small walls to the designer, also added ability to adjust height and load JPG images of your stage diagrams as a reference when you're creating a stage.

Update #13 - Aug 26 2017 - Stage Designer!

It's here! Finally got the in-game designer working. I was really surprised with how much work it took. I found a huge structural problem with my models that I had to fix which entailed fixing ALL of the existing stages. That took a lot of time.

That said, the designer is still rudimentary. You can create stages, save them, load them, and play them. It only has half of the props that are available in game. None of the props can be activated. The stage description is not customizable at this moment. The standard start position is standing anywhere hands relaxed at side. I'll be adding more support for different start positions in the coming weeks.

Update #12 - Aug 19 2017 - New USPSA Stage and more progress with designer


I'm still working hard on the stage designer. Got saving and loading to work. Now I need to get Play mode working. In the time being, a shooting buddy of mine Brant, who is very active in competition shooting and stage design, learned some Unity and built a stage called Heart Attack. It's a simple short course but has a cross activating drop turner which needs some timing to get right.

Update #11 - Aug 12th 2017 v0.23 New stage Kris Kross, stage designer preview and more

Got a lot done this week with the stage designer. It's still not ready for release yet but I've included a preview for you guys. I also managed to create a fun quick stand and shoot stage that requires no movement called Kris Kross. Other enhancements include visual blooms and ambient occlusion effects to increase the quality of the graphics a little, fixed a nagging bug with empty magazines.

Another thing I included just as a test is support for the Hyperkin pistol and the Vive tracker. You can now use the gun in the game during the main menu but it doesn't do much. I just needed to see how it works.

Quick Patch v0.22.2 Releasing today

Found out a few showstopper bugs that needed to be fixed immediately. Thanks to players in the community who reported these issues.

Update #10 - Aug 4th 2017 v0.22

This week we have a new stage from the recent IPSC Nationals up in Canada. Stage 13 is a short 12 round course with an activating port. I also had to make the port activator work, and added a DQ display when a player disqualifies. Also spent last weekend at Triggrcon 2017 in Tacoma, WA and I've included a short snippet on the Sig Sauer VR Challenge.

PractisimVR showcased at the Triggrcon 2017 event in Tacoma, WA

We got involved in a fun event this weekend at Triggrcon 2017​, working together with Virtual Sports​ down in Tukwila, we ran over 1,200 people through nine (9) HTC VIVE​ pods playing my game, Practisim VR. We introduced VR to the shooting community and they LOVED it. This community has been historically slow to adopt technology but it opened their eyes to what it can do for the world of law enforcement, training and competition shooting.
