Let us show you pictures of our visit in the GLBT museum of Castro. Here the website.
While the last GDC 2019, some of us were at the DNA Lounge, to dance and have fun in the Gay Gamer Professional Party (WHAT A GREAT NIGHT!). Here a poster of DNA Lounge when it was one of the central points of GLBT culture.
Because, IF I CAN'T DANCE TO IT, IT'S NOT MY REVOLUTION! (cit. Emma Goldman)
Do you know who the Two Spirits are? The LGBT native indians. In that community, LGBT people were considered a richness, as they meant two spirits in one body. In SF every year you'll find the B.A.A.I.T.S., Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits.
The beginning of the culture of leather: Fe-Be's Leather David. Fe-Be's was the first leather bar in Folsom Street.
Do you know why California is named California? Thanks to Queen Califia, queen of warrior women.
Now a curious story. Joe Finocchio, ante litteram drag queen: The curious thing is that in Italian, "Finocchio" means fennel, but it is used as a (bad) way to say "gay". So, this is why.
Finally, let's give a look to this suit. IT was Harvey Milk's one, when he was killed in San Francisco the 27 november 1978. You can see the blood on it. Who was Harvey Milk.
That day not only Milk was killed. Also the city major George Moscone.
Well. Some of you every year goes to GDC or for some other important event, in the Moscone Center. Now you know why Moscone Center is called Moscone Center.
In the first part, while the "Pride Run" theme is playing, you can see the main game features!
In the second part, while the "Play it out loud" song is playing, you can have a quick glance of the PLAY HARD gameplay.
RUN PRIDE RUN!!!
PRIDE RUN RADIO... do you know Castro?
When we were in San Francisco for the Game Developer Conference, we did a walkaround in Castro, the historical LGBTQ+ neighborhood of San Francisco. We arrived there to visit the place where Milk began the LGBTQ+ revolution in San Francisco. To see the place with our eyes and to smell the colors of the sky. On the sidewalk, we found portraits of superimportant LGBT people, as Sylvester and Alan Touring, the guy who created the first mechanical computer, used to decrypt the Nazi Enigma code, and then thanked with law penalty for his homosexuality. Everywhere rainbows! It was time of Bohemian Rapdosy, the hyperfamous movie on the life of Freddie Mercury, the Queen. Wonderful small theatre. Then the end of the street!
Then, we went to take a coffe in Harvey's bar. We sat down while neighboorhood people was slowly arriving, having glances of the street. This was the table where Harvey Milk used to sit. What an emotion! We sat down a moment where he spent his time with the people he loved.
Then, we moved to the GLBT museum. Next post!

PRIDE RUN RADIO... working hard!
Hi beautiful people! Here we are from the Pride Run Radio! (yes, it is only a post, not a podcast. But we like it to call it 'Radio'!)
As told in the title (and in the subtitle, and in the brief description), we are near the release!!!
We can say that the version 1.0 is ALMOST finished :)
Giacomo the art director, Ilaria and Elena are working to additional animated supercool videosequence for the game ending cut scene;
Mauro the musician is postproducing the Hard Ton soundtrack and Max the singer is warming his voice for the last minute choruses;
Ivan the game director talks continuously at the phone while writing emails while drawing additional pixel-art for some OMG-we-forgot-this-icon-for-that-feedback;
Massimo the producer is doing 23353 things in the same time; Davide the programmer is writing code with 12 fingers;
testers Kyle and Simone are playing 24hours per day and balancing data structures;
Marianna is normalizing the last audio effects;
Daniele is finishing last objects for the London Scenario;
Alessia just finished Johannesburg (2 weeks ago, to say the truth) Maria Luisa is already working (and almost finishing) the Sao Paulo scenario, which will be added in one next update;
Marco is working on the release trailer;
...everyone who pass in our office is gently forced to play Pride Run, to have as much feedbacks as possible! Hunting & mashing bugs, refining graphics and parameters, balancing audio levels here and there... and adding some we-absolutely-have-to-add-this-feature-NOW! On the other side of Europe (at least for now! If Boris won't create more trouble) in London our colleagues of Green Man Gaming are preparing store assets, managing last localizations, starting some external QA process, signing last agreements... and preparing to party in the GaymingMag.com event in Soho!

Pride Run will be supporting Kaleidoscope Trust
Green Man Gaming Publishing has announced that it will donate 10 percent of sales income from its game Pride Run to the Kaleidoscope Trust.
The company said: “Green Man Gaming Publishing and Kaleidoscope Trust, a charity working to uphold the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people internationally, today announce a revenue donation partnership, with proceeds coming from the sales of the upcoming rhythm action game, Pride Run.”

GMG Publishing’s Managing Director David Clark said: “Since before we announced Pride Run back in July, the most important goals for Green Man Gaming have been to really get behind our corporate values of inclusivity and diversity. We’re very happy to be able to demonstrate this through our partnership with Kaleidoscope Trust, where we’ll be able to donate to a great cause that works to uphold the rights of the LGBTQ+ community internationally.”
Kaleidoscope Trust Executive Director Phyll Opoku-Gyimah added: “At Kaleidoscope Trust we believe it should never be illegal to be you, yet over 70 countries make it a crime for LGBT+ people to be who they are and to love who they love. In many countries around the world people cannot live freely as LGBT+ individuals, much less attend Pride events where they live. We are therefore delighted to announce our partnership with Green Man Gaming and are pleased that the company has such an inclusive policy in what we understand can sometimes be a toxic environment for LGBT+ gamers.”
Opoku-Gyimah continued: “Through the launch of Pride Run, we hope to harness the support of the gaming community not only to raise funds for the work that Kaleidoscope Trust does to advance LGBT+ rights internationally, but to help open up conversations within the gaming community – and beyond – about discrimination against LGBT+ people around the world.”
Ivan Venturi, CEO & Game Director of Pride Run developer IV Productions also chipped in: “We’re a diverse development team, and many of us have been lucky enough to attend different Pride events around the world. We felt it was about time someone gamified the sheer energy, passion and extravagance that emanates from these celebrations of LGBTQ+ culture. Even better when we can celebrate Pride and give back to the community at the same time.”
Pride Run is a rhythm-action game with unmistakable hyper-colored retro pixel art-style graphics. Green Man Gaming Publishing said: “Much more than a simple beat matching game, Pride Run offers a challenge for gamers of all abilities. With ‘Vanilla’ mode tasking the player to keep their own Pride parade on track, they are required to ‘tap the beat’. However, more experienced players can choose ‘Play Hard’ mode which layers on real-time tactics and strategy as they battle to protect the parade from haters around the globe.”
Pride Run will be released for PC on Steam on 11 October 2019 – National Coming Out Day in the US. For more information visit http://www.priderunvideogame.it/
