Project CARS - PC Patch 11.2

Project CARS - PC Patch 11.2

Hi all,

A new Project CARS patch is now live on Steam. With this patch we're adding a way to configure VR super sampling in the game's settings file.

What does this do? - It provides a way to scale up the resolution of the image rendered by the game, so that when it is displayed on the VR HMD, it appears clearer, with less shimmer and aliasing artifacts

How do I do this? - Look in this folder: \Users\\Documents\Project CARS\

Depending on the HMD you're using...
Oculus Rift, edit: oculussettings.xml
HTC Vive, edit: openvrsettings.xml

Look for a line called ""

Change the number after 'data=' to whatever you want to set your super sampling to. Higher numbers will increase the resolution, while lowering the number will decrease the resolution. We recommend starting with a value around 1.5 and experimenting with it from there. How much you can push this will depend on your GPU.

Watch Now: Inspired to Drive - The Nicolas Hamilton Story

Experience the inspirational story of a race car driver’s battle to beat cerebral palsy and his quest to achieve his racing dreams in Inspired to Drive - The Nicolas Hamilton Story.

Inspired to Drive - The Nicolas Hamilton Story is the true story of how a kid born with cerebral palsy went on to swap his wheelchair for the seat of a race car in the cut-throat world of motorsport.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-n68xUfsKc

Nicolas Hamilton always aspired to follow his brother, 3-time Formula One World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, into motor racing. Born with a disability that severely impacted his ability to even walk, much less control a car on the limit, Nicolas had to overcome incredible odds.

He used those obstacles to inspire himself. Training for years on a simulator, he allowed nothing to stand in the way of achieving his dream. His remarkable success is why Nicolas Hamilton is #DrivenToInSpire us all.

Patch 11.0 Now Available - HTC Vive Support is here!

The next Project CARS patch is now live on Steam. This one brings a host of Virtual Reality improvements, and features full HTC Vive support. We support SteamVR's room customization option when using the HTC Vive, so whenever you're in the game menus, you'll see the SteamVR room in the background. This allows you to customize the look of the 3D space surrounding the menus via the SteamVR Workshop. We're looking forward to seeing all the creative Project CARS themed custom backgrounds that our fans come up with. :)

We've also implemented the often-requested VR mouse support, Gaze control support, and the ability to seamlessly swap between them and use them along with Custom Controllers and Gamepads.

Due to the extent of the Virtual Reality updates, we strongly recommend that you delete the configuration files that store the various settings. These are found in "\Users\\Documents\Project CARS" and are the files with XML extension.

Pagani Nordschleife Endurance Expansion Now Available

Pagani Zonda Revolucion
The Revolucion is Zonda’s last hooray for their famed Zonda R sports car as the Italian sports car maker ends the car’s production run with an ultra-rare, ultra-competitive version of their record-breaking creation.

Everything about the Revolucion has been pushed to the maximum as the Zonda R’s 750hp AMG V12 engine has received an additional 50hp while the car’s weight has been brought down to just 1070 kilograms.

The Zonda R has already been blurring the line between road cars and racing machinery and the Revolucion goes even further, offering drivers a fully-adjustable traction control system and a Formula-One-style DRS system.

While the car’s refined aerodynamics will help keep the Revolucion planted firmly to the track surface, a carbon-ceramic equipped Brembo braking system helps keep the beast in check.

Only five units of the 2.2 million Euro Zonda Revolucion have been built, making this one of Pagani’s rarest creations to date.

Pagani Huayra BC
In 2011, Pagani’s Huayra took the world of supercars by storm as the prestigious Italian sports car manufacturer delivered a turbo-powered car for the very first time. Four years later, all of the strictly-limited 100 units as have sold as Pagani celebrates the model’s success with the brand-new Huayra BC.

Named after Pagani’s first-ever customer, car collector Benny Caiola, the BC takes the mid-engine Huayra concept to new heights. Slimmed down to just 1218 kilograms – a whopping 132 kilogram reduction from the regular model – the Huayra’s already-mighty V12 bi-Turbo engine has been beefed up even further.

Built by Mercedes Benz’ AMG competition arm, the M158 engine now provides an incredible 800hp of power and 1100nm of torque, transmitted using an automatic seven-speed Xtrac transmission.

99.9% of all drivers out there won’t ever have to worry about having to handle this kind of power as only 20 units of the hand-crafted Huayra BC will be built, selling for 2.4 million Euros a piece. Thankfully, Project CARS will allow all automotive enthusiasts an exclusive virtual experience with this incredible road-going masterpiece.

Nürburgring Nordschleife Combined Layout
Project CARS is inviting drivers to tackle the ultimate Nürburgring challenge, giving players access to the combined Nürburgring Grand Prix and Nordschleife layout.

World-famous for hosting the annual Nürburgring 24 Hour endurance race, the combined track bridges the gap between the historic battles on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife and modern-day Grand Prix racing on the highly-modern GP layout.

The combined track features the shortened version of the Nürburgring’s state of the art Grand Prix layout, blending into the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. Racers have to master the best of both worlds as drivers have to prove themselves both on the technical bits of the modern Grand Prix track before transitioning onto the narrow, fast flowing, no-room-for-error Nordschleife layout.

The result is a spectacular 26-kilometer lap that challenges drivers with everything that has made the Nürburging a mythical place for automotive enthusiasts. From slow technical corners to long straights, elevation changes and banked corners – the combined Nürburgring layout has it all!

To round it all out, The Project CARS career also gets extended with a brand new invitational event as the Nürburgring Endurance Trophy is inviting all players to prove themselves in the Green Hell.

Mercedes-AMG GT3 & Patch 10.2 Out Now!

A spectacular new racing machine has just been added to Project CARS as the Mercedes-AMG GT3 is now available for everyone to race with.

Part of ON DEMAND programme, the car is a free addition for all users, just update your installation to take Mercedes' newest racing creation to the track!

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 is aiming to fill the footsteps of Mercedes-Benz ultra-successful AMG SLS GT3 car that clinched victories in all major sports car racing series and endurance racing events based on the FIA’s GT3 rule book.

Like its predecessor, the new AMG GT3 is powered by a normally-aspirated 6.3 liter V8 engine, delivering an excess of 500hp of power. Extensive usage of carbon materials allowed Mercedes to keep their newest GT3 challenger well under the FIA GT3 rulebook’s minimum weight of 1300 kilograms.

The lightweight approach does not mean any corners have been cut in terms of technology though as the ultra-wide AMG GT3 boasts everything that is needed to be competitive in international GT3 racing, including a six-speed sequential gearbox, carbon front and rear diffusors and an adjustable rear wing.
