Update Notes for March 13th


  • Update the base libraries the game uses to improve platform stability & support
  • Improved steam crash reporting so that I can track crashes faster
  • Fixed a bug with the roll
  • Improved the exception handling of the game
  • Fixed a bug of the game not starting correctly (getting stuck loading)
  • Fixed a bug with the sound in certain systems
  • A few other minor bug fixes and improvements

Bug fixes and some performance improvements

Thanks everyone for reporting issues with the game and sending me the files necessary for me to improve on the issues. I’ve pushed a new update which should fix some of the issues and improve the performance for some of the users that were experiencing unusual issues.

Hotfix for sound and camera

This update improves the camera freedom and fixes the game not having sound on certain computers.

New mushroom dimension, 7 new caves, new land forms, Azathul boss & more.

What was added




  • 7 new cave structures with different mobs and bosses
  • Updated grass distribution model
  • More epic terrain generated by sampling heightmaps and landforms into the world
  • Added grays to the color picker

What was fixed




  • Fixed rendering bugs on the female characters
  • Fixed text positioning in some UIs
  • Fixed the timer of some skills was broken (e.g. Energy shield)
  • Fixed taking screenshots on Linux
  • Improved the generation and meshing performance of the game
  • Fixed full screen on Linux
  • Fixed the game crashing when it could not detect a sound output
  • Fixed wrong key in Help
  • Fixed steam sometimes not initializing
  • Fixed sometime the game fails to load in computers with another language (e.g. French or Swedish)
  • Fixed structure spawning bug

Early Access Build 18

Hey guys I am sorry about the lack of updates, because of some personal stuff the development slowed down substantially.

However, I started working on the game back again, and here is a new update as well as what I am planning for the game in the next few months. Please let me know of any questions or suggestions you may have.

Here is an overview of what this new update brings and what's next for the game.

What was added



Linux support



Support for Linux has been added to the game. As of now, it has only been tested in Ubuntu. If issues arise please let me know via the forum.

New mobs and NPCs




  • Random hair colors for NPCs making them more unique.
  • NPC have and can drop random armors.
  • Added new item attributes like Sorcery and Accuracy.
  • New mob spawning algorithm that improves the diversity of the spawns.

New structure generation algorithm



I've created a new structure generation algorithm for placing the structures in the game. The benefits of this are:

  • Structures no longer collide
  • Structures no longer spawn very close to one another
  • Smaller structures like obelisks and campfires spawn more frequently making exploration more rewarding
  • Better distribution of different structure types.
  • Fixes bugs in questing
  • Improve performance when generating the world


The algorithm is new so if you notice any bugs related to the placement of the structures (like something never been placed) please let me know.

New Weapons



Several new weapon sets have been added that create synergy with their respective armor sets. Here are some pictures:

Miscellanous



Music


A new song called 'Deep Places' has been added to the soundtrack. I am building an official soundtrack for the game with the current songs (~10) and a couple more unreleased tracks I haven't added yet.

I am looking for opinions on this matter so if you are interested please feel free to reach out.

Help UI


A help UI has been added to help new players with the default controls of the game.



Platform


Several improvements have been made to the game's engine. Some of them are:

  • Linux support!
  • Added a splash screen when loading the game and the window no longer hangs
  • Improved rendering performance
  • Moved the game to .NET 6
  • Improved AI performance
  • Game generates a bit faster



What was fixed




  • Shadow clone skill drops FPS dramatically
  • After resetting skill points icons become invisible
  • Game gets stuck when loading up
  • Fixed music stops when changing characters in the character creator
  • Fixed sitting on a bench
  • Fixed fog being too close
  • Fixed explosions can knock you into buildings
  • Fixed limiting framerate not working
  • Fixed black colors appearing on terrain
  • Fixed sometimes graveyard cannot be completed
  • Fixed visual bug in the explosion of entities when SSAO is disabled
  • Fixed sometimes cow in the possessed cows fall through the ground
  • Fixed arrows not aiming correctly
  • Fixed sometimes structures being placed too close to each other
  • Fixed structures sometimes placed in the incorrect orientation
  • Fixed traveling merchant not spawning
  • Fixed fishing villages generating on invalid terrain


What's next



I want to get the game out of early access this year into a complete release.

Here is some of the stuff I am planning to work on next. Some things may change and others may be added but here is a rough list:

  • New map system
  • Incentives to explore more the world instead of generating new ones
  • Maybe support for multiple maps at once
  • Death markers
  • 7 different cave structures
  • Mushroom real with new boss
  • More epic terrain using heightmaps
  • New character animations
  • UI and SFX improvements on combat mechanics
  • A simple goal system to orient players
  • Workshop support for uploading and installing mods
  • Add unique items and attacks to the different bosses

Early Access Build 17

Here are the patch notes for this build


  • Added options to customize hair and skin colors when creating a new character.
  • Added a female warrior model
  • Added a female rogue model
  • Added a female archer model

  • Fixed werewolf skin.
  • Fixed merchant is not selling holding bags bug
  • Fixed witch armor are chestplates bug
  • Fixed NPCs having the warrior model.

Early Access Build 16

Here are the patch notes for this build


  • Introduced the armor system into the game.
  • Added several new attributes which the armors provide.
  • Added 15 new chestplates (more are on the way).
  • Added 15 new pants (more are on the way).
  • Added 15 new boots (more are on the way).
  • Added 8 new helmets (more are on the way).
  • Added option to disable mouse sensibility.
  • Allowed framerate to go higher than 90.
  • Added new character models (female version is on the way).
  • Fixed "When you start as level 99 you got 0 mana".
  • Fixed "Item duplication bug with holding bags".
  • Fixed "Going back to "Start menu" while whirlwinding makes the game crash"
  • Fixed "Buffed attacks are triggered by the pets but without the effect"
  • Fixed "Allow the merchant to sell cloth & plank recipes"
  • Fixed "Fix round slash scaling "
  • Fixed sometimes companions being immune for no reason

Early Access Build 15

Here are the patch notes for this build


  • Added gnoll fortress structure
  • Added gnoll creatures
  • Improved the animation speed of some warrior attacks
  • Fixed gold showing a positive number when removing
  • Added holding bag item which allows the player to have extra inventory space
  • Fixed black colors on the terrain bug
  • Added text to signalize which class can use the item while buying it
  • Fixed sometimes enemies being immune
  • Fixed sometimes companions being immune for no reason






We also have been working on new character models, these are not in yet but they will be with the next update





Next update will probably focus on adding armor items to the game and then I will probably get back to improve the questing system and adding the storyline

Early Access Build 14

This update is mostly crash fixing, in the next one I'll add a bunch of new stuff we have been working on. Here are the patch notes


  • Fixed a bunch of crashes
  • Added support for putting .json files in the mod folder
  • Fixed fullscreen setting bug

Early Access Build 13

Development slowed down quite a bit because of the sudden pandemic and other personal issues. However here is some stuff I've been working this week.








  • Added a new garrison structure (pictures attached)
  • Fixed projectiles dont work with the training dummies
  • Fixed fullscreen is not set correctly when opening the game
  • Added an NPC that resets skill points
  • Fixed some other bugs


I've read in some refund comments that people are having technical issues with the game. If you are one of them. Please let me know ASAP so I can get it fixed!
