Development Progress #9 Balancing tweaks

The demo has been out for almost a week now and overall I'm really impressed how well its been going! its giving me motivation in the game that I haven't had in a month or so. I had released an update to fix a few problems that were found. Now my goal is to start balancing the weapons that are overpowered.

Next update



  • The next update to the game will include a few bug fixes and a few new things in the levels and work in progress info screen which right now will include what the overlay shows and what everything does.
  • There is a possibility of adding a level or 2 in the future update when that might I haven't decided yet the levels would have to go through some testing for sure. Below are other changes that is coming to the update.


Weapon Changes


Headshots



  • Headshots are going to get changed to do less damage with armor.
  • Headshots without armor are going to be adjusted to the weapons type so certain types will have more damage.


Weapon Damages



  • The damages are going to get reworked to adjust to the fire rate and reload time.
  • Range is also going to be a factor as well that I've haven't tested yet before. So this may take a little bit to figure out and may not make this update.


Enemy Difficulty



  • This has been in question about what needs to happen to make these guys tougher. Right now no changes are coming to the enemies the changes are going to be made to weapons right now. after weapon changes if they still are still easy I'll revaluate at that time.


I just want to thank all those that are trying my demo! its been a long road to get to this spot and I never thought I would get to this spot especially right now!

Demo Hotfix update #1

As the demo has been out for a few days now I want to provide a short update for little fixes! Thank you all for the support on the game its means a lot to me! Below is the hotfix patch details. There will be more to come for sure with this game demo! The reason I'm patching this right now is because there is a big crash problem that I really want to get corrected.

Update Notes!
Fixed: Random Not being random and doing same numbers when loading up game
Fixed: If a monster jumps into the spikes it crashes the game. (Found By Blackgoldangel1 on twitch)

Known Issues
The "You died" screen in certain levels don't look right. but will be fixed in the next update!

Development Progress #8 Demo OUT NOW!

Today the demo is officially released! It's not going to have level 1 in it for now only because I want to keep the tutorial out of it so it makes it much more a of an enjoyable experience and it also doesn’t get repetitive having to do the first level before you can try out all the weapons.
Survival mode is not going to be available as this system is new to me and getting it to work has been a struggle but Its making good progress just have to work with more core features and they will be updates to the demo as things progress.
My biggest goal right now it’s to keep on developing the game and keep making the necessary updates for balancing of weapons and improvements to overall systems. With this all-in mind my goal is to get my game close to being released by the end of year! I will try to release the game this year if I feel it's ready but it is not I hope it will be early next year.

Development Progress #7 Demo Release Status

Its been really busy during the holidays, so I haven't had time to post but now I have time, I hope everyone had a really merry Christmas and a good happy new years!

Some of you may know that the demo launches In less then one month! The demo will be released on the steam store for the up coming steam next fest! The demo will be skipping level 1 due to it being a tutorial level and the tutorial level is not going to be finished at this time. It might get done before the demo releases but I don't think it will. So the current status of the demo includes

    Story mode will have 4-5 levels I say that because there is 5 levels because one of the levels has a different route you can take but only 4 total also you'll face 2 different monster types and 24 total weapons to play with. Every weapon is unlocked.
    Survival mode This mode will not be in at release. being that this has only been in development for less than a year its been a lot of work for a single person to get it working the way I want to. but the demo will be updated as things get developed so when this is ready to go the demo will include 1 map for you to try out! The map currently in development is called Santa's Workshop.


The reason I'm doing steam next fest now is because I feel like the game is at that point of that 20-30 minute demo play and with all the work I've made this year I have a good feeling of trying to release the game either Late this year or early 2024 if all goes well!

Development Progress #6 Survival update

Happy thanksgiving everyone! hope you all have a great day today!

In game news is there is a whole entirely new menu built for my game that is going to be in the survival part of the game! I know it's not going to be in the demo at the launch but I'm trying my hardest to get to that point! Lately its been a lot about survival and in the next couple of weeks I'm hoping to work more on the story and get more progress on that!

Its a little short post today being that it is thanksgiving but I will have more details coming soon on everything that I've been working on.

Development Progress #5 Steam Next Fest Details



So the last month I've been preparing for February 2023 Steam Next Fest! The release of the demo is going to be January 26th at 12am CST! The demo will be public at that time mainly for the press review! but you're free to play it but if you want to wait till Steam Next Fest thats fine too!

The Demo Details!



Story Mode Hopefully will have the first chapter with voicelines! and the rest wont just because I dont want to give away the whole story in the demo! The demo will have 5-6 levels,

Weapons Available There will be 24 weapons for you to try and use at any point! Once the full game comes out the weapons will be level locked.

The Demo wont have Survival when it releases on the 26th but there will be demo updates to improve the game and see how things are working and there will be a survival map that will release with the demo when the survival game mode is at that point where I think is in a good spot for it to be released where there are minimal bugs and that there's just a few things that I have to tweak before the game launches. but once the demo reaches that point of being a completed state it will not get any more updates after that.


Development Progress #4 2 Years ago!

We started rebuilding the game from the ground up. With us doing that we were able to add a lot of cool features One of them being profiles but I didn't know getting my game on steam was gonna be possible right away so we removed that. but Maybe in the future it will come back later. possible on a different game or something. The other things we got working are all of the attachments for the weapons and we only had 8 working weapons now we have all 24 weapons. We even had a more levels with improvements to all of the levels. We added a blood system that looks really cool! Lighting system has been improved. We got working progress survival mode. More details coming soon with that later. We still have a lot of work to do on that. This past week I've been programing some things for the first level to get the tutorial mission done. I haven't really worked on much else because I really want to make sure that the code that I'm doing for the first level wont screw up the other levels. The past 2 years have been some of the best years for this game. It has really just made this game so much better. I'm sure as time goes on it will be getting close to release. I'm still hoping sometime in 2024 I know that seems like a long ways away but its going to be worth it especially with all the work that I've been putting into the game.

Development Progress #3 Gameplay Trailer Released!

A short little update I got my Trailer completed to show the game off more! Hope you all enjoy the short little preview of the game! Its been headed into the right direction and I really love the way it's turning out.

Development Progress #2 New Survival Weapon!

I've been working on a new weapon for survival mode! this weapon has been in the works for a while but recently I just got it with weapon textures sounds. Its not done fully yet still got some testing to do and add a reload animation to it! Down below you will see the gun! Also a short preview of Santa's Workshop With The new weapon. Not sure if I will keep the full auto part yet or not but it seems really cool! I think this will be pretty close to release state I may slow down the fire rate just a little.



Development Progress #1

Its been a long time in the works just getting to the point of being able to even have my game tested and actually in a state where It can finally be finished. I'm really liking the progress I've made for the first time in forever. I've been meaning to post something on day one when my store page has been published but I've had so much to do. I'm a one person developing basically the whole game, I have a few testers and a few people lined up to do voice lines.

Will it Take till 2024 for release?
Right now that's what I'm thinking, but I'm gonna try to push it for earlier if possible. I want to make sure that the product that I'm gonna release is to the point of finished state. I want to minimize as many bugs as possible. Since I'm only one person I may have to push the date more but I will know more as time goes on.

What will be the cost of the game
Right now the price is gonna be $40 us dollars. The reason being is that there's been a lot of work and a lot of content to it.

Will there be more content later on?
If its all going well yes some maybe paid content releases some will be free. I'm thinking about maybe more weapons and more survival maps. Not sure what it all entails yet. I've got a lot to worry about yet and I'm not really thinking about new content at this time.

Current Development progress
Right now I'm close to releasing a new update to beta testers. Which is a good thing because it's been a bit since the last beta test update. In a few months I'm gonna try and take my time into making a trailer for the game! I wanna get voice lines done before I do create it.
