Beware the dark. Beware the night. Where stealthy heroes love to fight.
RAIDBORN participates in the Steam Stealth Fest, starting today at 10 a.m. PST. To celebrate this the game will be 20% off.
This is not only a great way to get the game, or gift it to a friend, but also a great opportunity to try a rogue only run, if you own the game already.
Showcasing the New City and Crafting System Coming with Content Update #2
I just wanted to send a sign of life. If you are interested in more regular updates, make sure to join my Discord. I have made some good progress, and the heavy lifting for UPDATE 2 is done. I have no release date yet, but it will probably be available between late July and early August.
Here are some of the new items I created for the new crafting system. I tried to keep the number of ingredients manageable while maintaining enough complexity. I don't like it if there are too many items to handle because it gets chaotic fast. The new crafting system will allow you to create tools, brew potions, and upgrade weapons, but more about that soon.
I also completely overhauled the city, including ambient NPCs, a new weather system, many secrets to discover and some new gameplay mechanics. In the video below you can get a first impression of what the new city looks like in the evening.
RAIDBORN 24% off during Steam Summer Sale
RAIDBORN is 24% off during Steam Summer Sale. If you are subscribed to my email list, go check your inbox. I have sent you a special offer with an increased discount.
If you don't own RAIDBORN already or know a friend who might enjoy it, now is the perfect time to get it. So what are you waiting for? Escape the summer heat and immerse yourself in some nice, cold dungeons.
Content Update #2 Breakdown
With the first major update released it is time to share what I have in stock for the second one. The list below will be updated regulary so you can follow the progress of the update. Because I think this is more expressive than making release date estimations, I will refrain from that in the future.
No worries, the combat system is still a priority, but I need to put focus on other things as well. I am currently trying to find a spot for the second part of the combat overhaul, which will put focus on the player side of things.

Content Update #1 Delayed
The first major update is pretty massive, and it will take a little longer than expected to get it done. Most new features are implemented, but it takes time to test and balance them. Additionally, I have quite a long list of smaller issues and bugs I would like to get fixed with the update. For that reason, I am going to move the AI movement and combat overhaul to UPDATE 2 to keep things in scope. UPDATE 2 was pretty thin in comparison anyway. Check the roadmap for more info.
Below you will find a list of what is planned for UPDATE 1 in case you missed it:
Additions:
Special ability for each of the six enemy races
Armor system and destroyable shields for enemies
Possession system for the player
Rare equipment loot spawns
Ability to loot destroyed crystal hearts
New items and equipment
Improvements:
New loot spawning algorithm
Enemy movement and combat behavior improvements
Level generator improvements
(More varied enemy appearances?)
Feel free to share your thoughts on what is planned.
Content Update #1 Breakdown
Hello,
With the first patch and hotfix shipped, I will now begin to focus on the first major update on the roadmap. Below, you can find a detailed breakdown of what I have planned for the update. Keep in mind that I will add, remove, or alter features depending on how they turn out in the game. I guess it will take about a month to get it done, but I don't want to rush and take the time it needs to implement and test these features.
Additions:
- Special abilities for each of the six enemy races - Armor system and destroyable shields for enemies - (Enemy race dependent level themes?) - Rare equipment loot spawns - Possession system for the player - Ability to loot destroyed crystal hearts - Some new items
Improvements:
- Enemy movement and combat behavior improvements - Level generator improvements - New loot spawning algorithm - More varied enemy appearances
Feel free to share your thoughts on what is planned.
