Range Day VR

Patch 05 Released. Please READ

Patch (5) Version 1.16.88

Changes

- Updated Armory menu system.

- Adjustments and particle updates to muzzle flash system. More still to come.

- Increased speed of slide and bolt animations on guns when firing.

- Ammo trays added to armory. These are experimental and subject to change. To pick up an ammo tray press and hold down either the grip ore trigger button prior to moving your hand next to the tray base it should snap to your hand. If you turn the trays upside down all the bullets will fall loose. With the trays already laying on the table you can pick up bullets individually from the tray or place the magazine next to the ammo tray to suck in bullets.

- Long chargeback handle pull fixed on galil and scar rifles.

- Beta holster belt. You can turn this on in the options menu from the armory menu. Comes with 4 magazine, 2 hand guns, and one rifle holder on your back. It may be necessary to take a step back once you load a new range to be in the center of the holster belt. It should then teleport with you whenever you relocate. Expect more variations and refinement to this in future patches.

- New bolt rifle system update. You will now need to manually pull the bolt up and then back to eject a cartridge and slide it forward to advance the next round from the magazine.

Patch Version 1.16.01 P04 is live.

Version 1.16.01 P04

Changes:

- Auto score target system: Indoor ranges now have two types of targets. A vast library of paper targets as well as select group of paper targets that auto score the players shooting skills against a time clock. More auto targets will be added in future updates.

- Gun changes: Slide release only works if an empty magazine is removed or no magazine is present. Bolt on rifle auto locks back on last round fired.

- Target reset button slow. Fixed time out issue when player tried to reset bullet marks on targets. Works quickly now.

- Fixed memory leak issue with NVidia card drivers.

More fixes in a patch over the weekend that didn’t make this one in time.

Patch P03 1.15.22 released.

Game notes 1.15.22 P03

Changes:

- Updated weapon spawn system. Now all guns in the inside ranges attempt to drop gun, mag, ammo, and attachments on different areas of the table to avoid a pile. Outside ranges still drop everything on one spot of the table since several weapons are already on the table by default.
- Options Menu added. Located in the Armory menu. Ability to turn off magazine status text, and enable or disable beta content. More to come.
- Beta guns added. Turn on by the options menu. One handgun and one machine gun have been added using a different muzzle flash system. We want feed back from everyone on this if possible. Please test in the indoor ranges and outdoor ranges, porch and forest especially.
- Updated haptic feedback system on the HTC Vive. Guns should feel more enjoyable when you shoot.
- Lots of gun fixes,
- Delta Elite gun and 10mm ammo added.

Patch updates this week: UPDATED Please read!

We had originally planned to try to get a patch out by Thursday and another end of the weekend. Some of the features we want to get into these patches are taking a little longer than planned and others cannot be split between two patches as they depend upon each other to function. So its looking like one big patch end of the weekend. The last thing we want to do is release something early and create a new problem when the goal is to fix and refine. The focus of the patch will be the same as stated earlier but with a few extra things thrown in. We think its important to keep you all informed when plans change. Don’t hesitate to msg me if you have any questions.
_____________________________________________________

After talking with the team today we are shooting for a new patch release Wednesday or Thursday. Also more than likely another one on Sunday. Obviously there will be more bug fixes with the guns but there are some areas we want to focus on. The items here may fall in one or the other patch depending upon when they are done.

- Improved haptic feedback for the vive.
- Options control panel: where you can turn off and on features of the game and enable beta features in testing.
- Another spawn system upgrade: dropping gun, mag, ammo, and attachments on different areas of the table to avoid fall clutter.
- Muzzle flash system: We want to introduce a few test guns using a new muzzle flash system that you can enable by the options menu. We want feedback on these to get a feel for what everyone likes or hates as there seems to be more than one group of thought to what muzzle flash should look like.
- explosive reactive targets for the outdoor range.
- Introduction of the Delta Elite and 10mm round into the game.
- lots more bug fixes on guns and quality of play items

Mega Patch P02 is live

Hello everyone. We have worked hard this weekend and fixed quite a few issues in the game. We have concentrated on the worst issues and are working our way down the list. There will probably be a patch update every 3 days or so till they are all knocked out. Any new issues please post in the bug discussion as It really has been helpful. This patch contains updates to the recoil system. I am sure we are not done tweaking it and more than likely it will receive further updates in near patches. Thank you all for your help and for playing Range Day VR.

Version 1.14.02 P02

Change log:

- Improved weapon recoil system. This may receive another enhanced upgrade later.
- Weapon spawn upgrade: Weapons now spawn directly to tables near you. This is true for outdoor ranges as well so please go back to the table to pick up your weapon. Weapons can still fall of the table if your table is to full. Throw weapons on the floor to destroy.
- New teleport system. A Yellow circle has been added to show where you will land. A blue teleport line shows the spot you have selected is good and a red teleport line shows an area is bad. The blue circle will turn green on items you can pick up by teleport.
- Weapon destroy time has been increased from 10 seconds to 20 seconds once items are thrown on the floor.
- Oculus players: slide / bolt release button is now thumb stick up on either controller.
- Fire-select button: Besides using the physical button on the guns players can now use a mapped fire-select button on their controllers. Oculus: Left controller: thumb stick right, Right controller thumb stick left. Vive: touchpad button right.
- Slow menu response fixed.
- Numerous gun fixes with attachments and alignment.

Colt Delta Elite 10mm

Just thought I would share with everyone one of the new guns coming shortly to Range Day VR. Don’t worry all hands are on deck right now making patches to fix the core game issues that will start rolling into the game tonight or tomorrow. But thought everyone might enjoy this while we work on updates.

Post launch Patch 01

We have issued a patch as a speculative fix for the second held position not working on the shotgun models and some of the rifles that players have reported on the VIVE native build. We also have added two missing second hand position colliders on the Oculus native build. Rough take off for launch day! We may be issuing another patch this weekend as we address any other issues that players encounter. Thank you all for your help!

Range Day VR Roadmap

Hello everyone. We will be launching Range Day VR for early access soon and wanted to share with you what is to come in the near future. We will be updating features, expected content, as well as post a newer and more up to date tutorial video as quite a bit has changed in the past few months from what was originally posted.

Launch features.

6 Indoor Ranges:
5 Outdoor ranges, various target types, including simple reactive targets.
Tons of realistic guns.

We have 2 large updates for the game already in development and hope to launch in the next few months after early access release. The order of these two updates may change depending upon which completes first out of development.

Update 1:

Advanced reactive target ranges.
We have two new outdoor ranges that will test your shooting skills as the targets not only move but also will shoot back. You will not last long staying in one position!

Wild West Saloon: Dodge incoming fire as bandits and outlaws spring up from windows, behind tables, bars and various other challenging locations.

Wrong Turn Alley: Sometimes you make a wrong turn into the bad part of the big city. Test your shooting skills as you take out reactive targets of street thugs taking shots at you from the apartment windows above or alley corners in front of you.

Update 2:

Multiplayer support. This is an important update for us. We are launching native versions of Range Day VR for both oculus and vive platforms. It’s also more fun if we can all play together regardless of which platform you own. Competitive fun and co-op gameplay between a host of existing ranges and new multiplayer exclusive ones are in development with voip support. Initially we may launch one or two multiplayer ranges to test content and work out bugs before we add additional ones.

Other content:

Other single player content ranges include a junk yard and heavy weapons and explosives range in development. We will be adding additional guns often and sometimes independent of new range updates. We also want to reward our early access players who may endure buggy software and many updates as we refine the play experience and add new features based on player feedback. A few of the nicest guns in the game will be exclusive to early access players and not be available to players who purchase the game after full release.

Who should by this game now?

Anyone who likes to play things early, offer advice and feedback as we fine tune, add features, and work out game bugs we find along the way should buy.

Who should not buy this game at this time?

Anyone who only wants to play a game once all the features have been released. We completely understand those players and look forward to having you as part of the Range Day VR family a little later down the road once all updates are out. Please feel free to ask any question in the discussion areas of the community hub and we will respond as soon as possible!
