Hello everyone. We thought you would enjoy a sneak peek at another gun in the game we have not previously shown off. The CZ 75B Stainless. Fresh off our 3d artist's desktop.
An update for everyone.
Hello everyone. A quick update which may not make a few of you happy. We are pushing out the release date to the end of July. One of our VR partners which we shall not name released a new runtime update just recently that is causing tracking issues with the controllers. Our QA people have also identified a memory leak issue that needs to be addressed as well as a few other optimizations. Just some of the many joys of game development! We know many of you are patiently awaiting the release but we feel it’s important to release a good experience to begin with regardless of our anticipated early access launch. We plan on releasing sneak peaks of some additional content in the next week or so as well.
Galil 308 Ace with Mepro sight.
Just thought you all might like a sneak peak of one of the guns we have not shown in any of the trailers or screenshots. A Galil ACE 308 with mepro sight. Final touches still being applied by our 3d Artist.
Brief game release delay and additional content.
Game delayed! Not the words that any gamer wants to hear but after careful consideration after meeting with the entire dev team we have decided to briefly delay release of the game.
Why did you delay the release?
Several reasons. Range Day VR was originally designed for the Oculus Rift before we decided to build a completely native steamvr version. After review with internal QA we have decided the SteamVR controls need a little more love and polish before release. Planned additional content that was originally going to be pushed out in an update is close to release so we want to go ahead and include that in the main game at launch. Additional changes to range levels will be implemented in preparation for multiplayer support that will be added in a future update.
How long of a delay?
We are targeting a release date of June 30th but may release the game sooner if everything completes faster. The last thing we want to do is change the release date again so we have allowed extra time for additional development, game polish, and additional QA checks before release in case its needed. If we decide the game is ready and will launch ahead of its revised release day we will post it publicly in advance to keep everyone informed.
The game is early access so why the delay?
Even though the game will be launching for early access we still feel the game needs to provide a great experience even if it’s not perfect. There are a lot of bad VR games out there and it’s important not to rush a product out the door before its truly ready to have players engage with it. We know a lot of players may be disappointed by the delay but we think in the end the results will be worth it.
Additional Content.
We have added a very cheesy short video demonstrating basic firearm interaction in the game. We have received a lot of email asking in depth how guns worked in Range Day VR and hope this helps address a few of those questions. Please note this game will be launching in early access and we fully expect to implement changes and refinements to how the weapon interaction system works. We will also be posting additional content and information about the game in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

New pistol and rifle range sneak peeks!
Hello Everyone
In addition to our existing indoor shooting ranges we have two more that will be launching with the game. A new 25-yard pistol range and 100-yard rifle range. Not quite finished with them yet but thought everyone might enjoy a sneak peek. A weapons tutorial video will be released later this week along with some other announcements for Range Day VR. Stay tuned!
Hello Everyone!
We will be posting lots of updated information over the next week and half regarding the gameplay for Range Day VR including an updated trailer showing newer game play updates as well as tutorial videos showing how to use basic weapons within the game. We did want to take a few minutes and answer a few of the questions we have been receiving a lot of through email.
1. Is the game simply point and shoot or does the game allow you interactivity with your guns?
Range Day VR supports in depth interactivity with the firearms you use. Even down to manually picking up a bullet off the table and loading it into your magazine. Game mechanics are designed to feel natural including all actions of using the firearm.
2. Does Range Day VR support both Oculus Rift and SteamVR natively?
Range Day was originally designed for the oculus and oculus touch system but we are making a native port for both platforms
.
3. When will multiplayer support be supported?
Range Day VR will initially launch with single player only. Multiplayer support is heavily in development for both the Oculus Rift and SteamVR platforms. We hope to launch multiplayer support with the first few updates to the game along with new weapons and ranges that are also in development. This is one of the reasons why we are launching the game in early access as player feedback will be help us greatly refine multiplayer features.
