New content and features (DLCs)
ROMEO & JULIET JOIN THE RAVENSWATCH
Two new Heroes with a unique set of abilities and co-op gameplay style
Romeo, a fencing master, swinging his rapier with natural elegance
Juliet, a sharpshooter who wields her gun with a steady hand
The number of additional enemies added by players has been decreased to +13% (from +17%)
The Standard Enemies’ health points by additional players have been decreased to +30% (from +40%)
The Elite Enemies’ health points by additional players have been decreased to +60% (from +70%)
The Standard Enemies’ Stagger by additional players has been decreased to +30/40/50% (Chapter 1/2/3, from +50/60/70%)
The Elite Enemies’ Stagger by additional players has been decreased to +60/70/80/90% (Chapter 1/2/3/Epilog, from +80/90/100/110%)
Leash mechanic: Changed Leashing behavior
The waiting time for enemies to "flee" (Leash) has been reduced to 3 sec (instead of 10)
The waiting time remains the same (10s) if a player within range of an enemy is at death's door. Design Note: This would result in situations where players could re-attract the attention of enemies they had long lost, simply by retracing their steps. This should now prevent players from aggroing back enemies by mistake.
🐦 Abu Al-Jaan:
The mini-boss will not recover the stagger bar when he’s in the possession phase
Reduced Abu Al-Jaan’s maximum number of possession (maximum 2)
HEROES ADJUSTEMENTS
SCARLET
🐦 Distant Blows: Special can now be aimed. The longer it’s held, the further it aims
Bones Cracker:
Human: Ash cloud now deals 87 damage per second (from 70) to enemies within
Wolf: Now deals 176 to 530 damage around (from 40 to 120) and its radius of explosion has been multiplied by 3
THE PIED PIPER
Explosive Rat: Not a Starting Talent anymore. Switched with Horde.
BEOWULF
🐦 Dragon Flight: Wyrm now prioritizes enemies close to Beowulf
ALADDIN
Special: Now deals up to 90 damage (from 60)
🐦 Wish of Omnipotence: The effect has been reworked
New effect: Casting a Wish using TRAIT grants OMNIPOTENCE to all nearby Heroes for 8 seconds. During OMNIPOTENCE, Heroes' abilities have a 0.5 sec cooldown
GEPPETTO
Rocket Science: Crossed DUMMIES now catch fire and deal fire attacks for a few seconds
MELUSINE
Bewitching Song: Not a Starting Talent anymore. Switched with Underwater Predator
Underwater Predator: Increase the movement speed of Melusine while underwater by 30%, but last 25% less than before
Sea Dance & Spring Water: Changed the meta unlock order to balance the character mastery
SUN WUKONG
Way of Awakening: Now, after blocking 8 times (from 10), the next Trait enters Awakened Stance for 12 seconds
MAGICAL OBJECTS ADJUSTMENTS
Goldilocks’ Porridge: The effect has been reworked
New effect: Healing Orbs now also heals 10% more (it’s also additive) and gives 8 sec of STRENGTH (not stackable)
Raven Eye: Now reduces Ultimate’s cooldown by 25% (from 20%)
Ring of Dispel: Dash now applies Vulnerable for 4 sec to enemies hit (from 3 sec)
Witch’s Broom: Any damage taken is now increased by +15% (from +25%)
Bloody Mary’s Mirror: The effect has been reworked
New effect: Gives +0.5 DMG per VITALITY. VITALITY now only increases maximum health by 0.5% points (from 1%)
Oni Mask: Armor -10 for each Legendary Magical Object (previously Vitality)
Design note: With this update, we took the opportunity to start tackling balancing issues. Since the release of Ravenswatch, we have received countless feedback, especially on Talents and Magical Objects.
In this update, you will discover the first wave of reworked Talents and Objects. The selection is based on the pick rate from players (data), internal ideas, and the resources that were available at the time of the development. As we were working on Romeo & Juliet at the same time, we prioritized Talents and Objects that could be reworked but not reinvented entirely.
For example, Bloody Mary was by far the object with the lowest pick rate in the Cursed category due to the effect being very niche. The new effect should bolster its popularity while opening new ways of playing. We applied the same logic to Heroes’ Talents, such as Wish of Omnipotence, and focused our attention on those that were underutilized. On the other hand, some Talents like Seductive Provocation need to be changed entirely and basically become new Talents.
Rest assured that it will be our top priority for future balancing waves!

We’re a little over a week away from the launch of the free Romeo & Juliet DLC. It’s time to tell you EVERYTHING (or most of it) about the upcoming content and the free patch being released alongside it.
The Romeo & Juliet DLC comes out on May 27.
This update is the first Hero DLC released in Ravenswatch’s post-launch cycle. You can check our roadmap for Year 1 on our website. Now, onto the content highlights! (Beware of spoilers)
Romeo & Juliet
Base Kit
Last week, we showcased Romeo and Juliet’s gameplay styles in a video presented by Adrien, Ravenswatch’s Game Director. It was important for us to explain how the two heroes are connected and how they play in co-op to form the iconic lovers we all know.
As you may remember, the couple was first imagined as co-op exclusive characters, but, after the community’s feedback on this original take, we decided to make a broken-hearted version of Romeo and Juliet for solo players who want to experience their unique playstyle too.
Romeo is a fencing master who swings his rapier with natural elegance, while Juliet is a sharpshooter who wields her gun with a steady hand. We wanted to create a design that was both contrasting and complementary.
In solo, Romeo and Juliet have an alternative Trait that plays on Health as well. It could not be the same as the duo version as it requires another player to properly work.
Talents
You’ll unlock a wide variety of Talents for Romeo and Juliet. As they are two distinct characters with very different playing styles, there are 52 talents in total to experiment with. We cannot wait to see what cool synergies you can create with all those!
Take, for example, Romeo’s ‘Thorny Rose’ Talent, which grows paths of thorns stinging the enemy's feet.
Or Juliet’s ‘Volcanic Shots’ Talent, a very effective way to clear enemies and feel like you’re handling a Tommy gun.
And if you just want to kick Nightmares with the sole of your shoe or the butt of your pistol, go at it!
Outfits and additional Skin Pack
Alongside the eight Outfits you can unlock in the game by performing a few achievements, we will also release an additional paid Skin Pack for Romeo and Juliet. Wear six bonus Outfits for the fated couple, in the colors of the Ravens, Nightmares, and their Eternal Love. This additional DLC will cost $4,99.
Romeo & Juliet’s visual design
You’re keen to learn more about Romeo and Juliet’s conception? A few weeks ago, we published a new video of Ravenswatch’s Art Director, Valentin, who shared his creative process on the visual design of the iconic couple. Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeRquU6Twfc
Balancing
Multiplayer Scaling
Back in April, we answered a frequently asked question from the community: Multiplayer is considerably harder than solo, to the frustrating point. Do you plan to remedy this?
We gave a lengthy response on this matter in our latest Community Spotlight, but to make it short: Yes! There are several levers we've balanced to smooth the co-op experience, it was pretty fitting considering the addition of Romeo and Juliet in version 1.2.
You can read our detailed answer here: https://steamcommunity.com/games/2071280/announcements/detail/511827941447959580
Heroes Talents & Magical Objects
The other thing we wanted to tackle in this update was a bit of balancing on overlooked Talents and Magical Objects. We were not able to go through the whole list of community-requested changes because our primary focus was on Romeo and Juliet. Some untouched Talents and Objects required more work, such as a complete rework or a major change, so they’ll have to wait for another update! (we’re thinking of you, Seductive Provocation 😒)
Here’s a little sneak peek at some changes on Talents:
Distant Blows: Highly requested by the community, Scarlet can now aim her bomb in a more significant way. It was one of the earliest Talents made and compared poorly with other abilities of the same type.
Wish of Omnipotence: This talent was particularly shunned by Aladdin players, it will now grant OMNIPOTENCE each time you use a Wish (and it’s not a fourth Wish anymore!).
Nightmares Unleashed Update
We’re also pushing some balancing adjustments to content released in the Nightmares Unleashed Update in this patch. We’re still experimenting with a few things that are not ready to be made public (like Tumors), but some no-brainer changes were able to make it into this update (such as a well-deserved nerf for Abu Al-Jaan).
Refugees’ interactions will now be cancellable, meaning you won’t be forced to choose when speaking to them (yes, even that little thief kid).
And more!
Quality of Life
We added a bunch of Quality of Life requests in this update, let's see a small selection:
It was probably one of the top three QoL requests; you will now be able to consult Scarlet’s Wolf abilities in the book. In addition, we also added a viewer for Rarity on Talents.
We improved the Cyclops’ grab to match the visual feedback better.
Of course, various other improvements and balancing changes in the update accompany the Romeo & Juliet free DLC. A list of many, many, MANY bug fixes is also included. Read the patch note on May 27 for more details (it’s eight pages long 💀).

New month, new Community Spotlight! We’ve got a ton of stuff to discuss today, so let’s see what’s been moving in the Ravenswatch community recently.
But first, just a little reminder that we’ve recently announced our free Romeo & Juliet DLC for May. Watch the announcement trailer here if you’ve missed it: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2071280/view/521959141351096441
1 Million Players
Passtech Games is so proud to announce that Ravenswatch has surpassed 1 MILLION PLAYERS since its first launch in Early Access back in April 2023. It's an incredible milestone for the game, but also for our studio. And it literally could not have been possible without you guys.
Thank you for your continued support 🙏
We're excited about what's coming to Ravenswatch in the next few months, and we hope you'll join us for the journey!
Community Survey
From the start, we've developed Ravenswatch with an open dev philosophy. That means we constantly examine feedback, videos, and data from our community.
We’ve prepared a Community Survey to gather information on previous and future Updates, from what was added recently to what you'd like to see arrive in the game in the future. This will help us in our efforts to improve Ravenswatch in the long run.
⚠ The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete. You can skip questions that are not relevant to your experience.
We like to look at the community for hot topics. Many questions and concerns have been raised about the game's difficulty in multiplayer, so maybe it's time to respond!
Question:
Multiplayer is considerably harder than solo, to the frustrating point. Do you plan to remedy this?
Answer:
Before properly answering this question, we think it's best we lay out information we have on the matter:
The difficulty scales with the number of players in the game. Because more players are in the party, we need to adjust the game's difficulty so it doesn't get boring and effortless. Three different factors impact a run's difficulty in multiplayer:
Number of enemies
Enemy health points, depending on their category (standard or elite)
Max "stagger" (stun threshold) of enemies, based on their category and the current chapter
Now, when we read the first community feedback on this matter, we confronted the reports with our data and noticed only a 7% difference in global win rates between the most successful party and the least successful one. Which are, in this order:
Four Players
One Player
Three Players
Two Players
The players' data is a great tool for supporting our vision or detecting irregularities, but sometimes, we encounter a situation where the data doesn't make much sense opposite the players' feedback. That's because we're people, not just numbers. The frustration emitted from the community reports is as real as the data collected with our tools.
We can't rely only on the numbers to balance our game; we must listen to the players' complaints and frustrations. What really came out from the feedback was how much it was more difficult once there were 3 or 4 players in a party (despite 4-player parties being the most successful combination). So, after taking all of this into consideration, we decided to make adjustments to all three of the previously mentioned scaling factors by reducing the multiplayer difficulty to make the game more accessible.
We hope you enjoy this transparency, as we know it's been a hot topic in the community for quite some time. You can expect those balancing changes in our next update (version 1.2), coming out in May with our Romeo & Juliet free DLC. Patch notes will detail the changes, as we're still currently testing and adjusting everything.
Ravenswatch remains a challenging game at heart, especially if you're deliberately choosing Nightmare difficulty haha. Consider using run modifiers to personalize your experience. Navigate to the 'Customize' menu to access the Custom Game Modes.

TILL DEATH DO THEM PART
In Ravenswatch, Romeo & Juliet are cursed by the witch Baba Yaga after she interrupts their tragic death scene. One is a fencing master and a noble figure, while the other hides her sharpshooter game beneath her aristocratic lady airs. Together, inseparable, Romeo & Juliet survey the lands of Reverie in hopes of repelling the Nightmares and finding a cure to their malediction.
Get ready for May!
Romeo & Juliet will be the first Hero DLC available for Ravenswatch. The pair must be played together in co-op as they are truly inseparable, as the legend goes.
This DLC will be free for everyone to enjoy!
To celebrate the reveal, Ravenswatch is 50% off on Steam until March 13:
Ravenswatch Patch Note (Lobbies and Crossplay) - Version 1.1.04
Greetings, Ravens!
Another day, another patch! We're pushing a small patch on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox to restabilize crossplay on those platforms and fix recently reported lobby issues.
Don't forget to tune in tomorrow at NACON Connect for the reveal of the two new Heroes joining the Ravenswatch!
Patch Note 1.1.04
Fixed Issues
Lobbies: Fixed an issue where lobbies could be stuck
Unloading Crash: Fixed a crash that could occur at the end of a Chapter during unloadings on consoles
Crossplay: Crossplay has been reactivated between Xbox players and and Steam/PlayStation players
⚠ Disclaimer: The same patch will be released on Nintendo Switch in a few days to account for longer submission delays. As a result, the versions are currently desynchronized on this platform, which prevents using crossplay on the Nintendo Switch. We'll let you know when the patch is approved.
