This Update sees a start in optimizing performance, making Kvirasim significantly faster. Moreover, reducing the "overall quality" setting now has more effect than so far. We also added the possibility to enter smaller towns, added some cutscenes, added voiceover to existing cutscenes and more:

Hail to the twelve!

Sorry for the delay of this versions release. Biggest addition and therefore worth a bigger Version leap is the accessability of the Dungeon below Tjolmar including the fight againast Arkandor and therefore the completeability of the game! So all dungeons and towns from the original can now be entered. In Detail:

General



  • More than 600 additional translations implemented, tutorial is still to come
  • The zoom factor of the minimap and the full-screen map is now saved
  • You can now set, edit and delete your own markers on the minimap
  • The setting for the spell display can now be easily made in the settings window and no longer need to be done via XML / Mod
  • Tooltips will no longer get stuck
  • After completing a Levelup, music will switch back to the usual ambient for the location
  • The lion sabre can now be repaired


Dungeons & Towns



  • The Dungeon under Tjolmar is now accessible and the game can be finished
  • Leave the minimap visible without a light source, "only" deactivate removal of Fog of War
  • Fixed an error when the current group becomes empty (eg loss of the last member into a deep hole)
  • Items do not "hang" out of their grids in the warehouse anymore
  • Resting won't place the group somewhere else any more

We have a large "stabilization update" for you this week, almost 90 changes should make your life in Aventuria more pleasant, especially in combat, where now among other things shields are represented and correctly taken into account and the NPCs now also switch weapons, or put the weapon away when they are encircled to continue fighting. In detail:

General


  • Some diseases now require a whole set of herbs for healing
  • The party is now visible in the prison scene in Lowangen
  • New scene "lonely tundra"
  • Fixed a problem when closing the merchant window
  • When moving items, the item will no longer hang on the portrait
  • The Jugglers Shirt is now also displayed on female characters
  • Fixed a problem where characters left behind could lead to corrupted savegames

With today Update the Blood pinnacles dungeon is finally available, a content extension promising several hours of additional gameplay! Moreover, the trade interface was completely reworked and is immensely more comfortable than before, and of course there were huge amount of bug fixes and feature implementations!

We were able to carry through on a big promise of ours: Importing games from Blade of destiny HD. It was implemented and now imports your dear heroes from our predecessor. Other data is imported too, heroes below 1.450 XP will be upgraded to that value. The game doesn't have to be finished, but it must reside in the old savegame directory (Documents/BladeofDestiny/save).

And there are other updates too:

  • Importing saved games from Blade of Destiny HD implemented
  • Buying prices of traders were increased in general, in exchange the value of herbs was decreased
  • A Mage's Rapier can now be used as a bane sword for certain rituals

Hail Hesinde my Dears!

Hesinde is the aventurian goddess of wisdom and magic, and magic is exactly what we did together with our Alpha Team right before the Easter Holidays! New Features include unlocking of the Steam Workshop, which allows supereasy installation of Mods. Moreover, the DSA CraftyTool found its way onto your hard drive, required for creating those Mods. I want to bring your attention to http://wiki.sternenschweif.com , it is just german at the moment but it can be a starting point, and we are happy to help anybody wanting to get involved! And I wanted to thank my hard-working Alpha Team that not only tested everything before releasing it to you, but who also provided some of their Mods as starting points for the Workshop!

But the real magic is in the sheer amount of changes in the last 7 days, see for yourself:

General



  • The camp scene on travels now displays all heros that are able to act
  • The camp scene on travels now shows the current weather conditions and the time of day
  • Dullskull was revised. Dwarfs are now especially bad tempered when suffering from it
  • The dwarf crossbow received a unique image
  • When surviving a serious illness without any healing, the according hero receives experience
  • Battle fever was revised. Elfs suffer more than other races
  • Rabies was revised. Elfs are immune to it, all others now actually get the rabies
  • A problem when repeatedly changing a characters worn wardrobe was fixed
  • Fixed a problem that the toadskin caused a false skin shade to be displayed
  • Fixed a problem that when "taking all" and the inventory was full, a random item went missing
  • Adapting the looks of heroes in the temple doesn't cause lighting problems any more
  • The cloud animation in the main menu doesn't disappear any more when using the settings window
  • The white lines in the main menu are finally fixed

With todays Patch the Character editor so far only available for the "modding" area is now also active in the "normal" game. When generating characters in the temple, there is a new button "Edit Look" right below the left "Roll dice" button. Almost every detail of your new character can be adapated here, Moreover, generated characters from now on display their worn equipment instead of always looking the same!

ATTENTION: Existing Charakters are NOT automatically displaying their equipment! In order to make them, please go to a temple, activate the "Group management" and use the new button "Edit Character Looks" on the respective portrait and possibly adapt your character. After closing the editor, the equipment should also be displayed for existing characters. This is only necessary once!

Aside from the character editor there were many additional Updates:

  • The new background scene "Brinasker marshes" was added eingefügt
  • Added a background scene for the courtyard in Lowangen
  • Added a background scene for the talks with Artherion
  • Added a background scene for the academies of Lowangen

Hail to the twelve!

This is a maintenance update for our last release 0.75, our main focus was on a drastic increase of performance in Lowangen. Enjoy!

Lowangen



  • Performance in Lowangen was increased dramatically
  • All wells in Lowangen can now be used as a water source
  • "Rent Room" in Lowangen was improved
  • Several temples in Lowangen have received more flags
  • The flags on Lowangen's temples now show the correct god
  • Many flaoting things in Lowangen have been grounded
  • The temple of Peraine in Lowangen was fixed
  • A Bug in the Salamanderstone quest in Lowangen was fixed
  • A misplaced sign in Lowangen was fixed
  • Several bugs on Lowangen's Minimap were fixed
  • A bug when sleeping in brothels was fixed

General



  • All potential companions now have unique portraits
  • Gashok's color scheme has been completely reworked
  • The white border on Boron flags was fixed
  • Wooden stairs to taverns in Tiefhusen now have better colliders
  • Barrels in Kvirasim that were too big were resized
  • Several missing collisions in Lowangen and Tiefhusen added
  • Tiefhusen's water is now better protected from entering
  • Several trees in Finsterkoppen were fixed
  • Arrow- and Bolt-slots now correctly have full weight
  • Several positioning bugs fixed in the swamp
  • Added a missing item image
  • Jittery Waterreflections fixed
  • A bug preventing to complete a quest in the Finsterkoppenbinge was fixed
  • A trigger in the swamp was improved
  • A quest in the swamp was prevented to be started twice
  • The recipe for the healing potion is readable again
  • The keyring can now be sold or thrown away

Update Version 0.75

I apologize for the long time since the last update, I was sick for the better part of the last two weeks and unable to release the already completed update. The absolute highlight of this update is a huge content update including the complete city of Lowangen and along with it the Dungeon "Swamp of the Forgotten". This includes all the quests, dialogs, conversations, specials and other content for both locations. We are especially proud of Lowangen, the largest city in the game by far, with more than 150 buildings, three distinguishable districts and nearly 200 NPCs in the Streets. The swamp is also huge, with more than 600.000 m². Both locations have been implemented with the Version of 1994 as a template and with a myriad of improvements and corrections. And of course, there is a lot of other improvements:

General



  • The sleeping potion effect has been improved and extended
  • There are now different arrow and bolt variants
  • The slingshot can now use different ammunition types
  • Shields have been rebalanaced
  • Gorah's Robe (from Blade of Destiny HD) now has special properties
  • Traumatic fever and blue wheeze are now curable by heroes
  • New sickness: swamp fever
  • Several uncritical errors causing log entries have been fixed
  • Skills received values for their "effective encumberance" by equipped armor
  • Encumberance of shields fixed
  • Removed limit to actions when camping
  • Fire amuletts now protect of fire damage again
  • The remastered music track for hostels was reworked and improved

Dungeons and Towns



  • The display bug of elves in Kvirasim has been fixed
  • The level of detail (texture resolution) of town npcs has been improved
  • A long lasting bug with the display of scene characters has been fixed
  • The socket puzzle in the cellar vault has been improved
  • Market stands in Gashok now have sales personnel
  • Market stands in Kvirasim now have sales personnel
  • The tavern scene has been reworked
  • Tiefhusen received more ork presence
  • Room rental has been reduced to next day 5 o'clock (instead of 11)
  • A problem saving doorstates in dungeons has been fixed
  • An unintentional "fall" inside the Finsterkoppenbinge was fixed
  • After conversations NPCs only require until midnight to reset their "mood" instead of 48 hours
  • Citizens inside houses have been adapated depending on current location
  • The tavern in Kvirasim isn't blocked by NPCs any more
  • Another cellar vault puzzle has been improved
  • Character size of scene characters was adapted to their surroundings


Travel



  • A typo on the map with "Salamandersteine" was fixed
  • The travel event "Otter" can now be solved with "heal animals"
  • The travel map now also works in UHD-resolutions correctly

UI



  • It is now possible to choose how many levelups shall be done at once
  • Weapon icons have been unified in style
  • Poison and Potion icons have been unified in style
  • A bug when reading numbers from the user has been fixed
  • The text on the startrail intro video has been slowed down
  • Displaybug on item transfer in keyword dialogs has been fixed
  • Automatic levelups have been vastly improved in quality

Battle



  • Swamp rantzies can infext with swamp fever
  • Dead enemies can no longer be killed again
  • Pathfinding for escaping enemies has been vastly improved
  • Conjured characters now correctly disappear again
  • Poison effects were checked and reworked

Modding



  • Leave behind and readd characters
  • Images can now be displayed as part of a dialog


We will update the release schedule next week, Early Access will definitely not end in February as previously announced.
