Update 0.94.1274

Dear friends,

This is the first of a series of big updates we’ve planned for November.

This month, we are also planning to introduce considerable changes to Vocation balance. Besides, all players will have access to 4-6 stages of Vocations with minimal requirements, but all that’s information for a separate announcement.

You’ll find day-off fixes and changes at the end of the patch note.

The Way for All

  • Experience:
    • Changed the proportion of XP gains in PvE: decreased the final blow XP but increased the overall XP gain;
    • on average, players will get more XP;
    • using AOE for leveling will be more effective (but there’ll still be no XP for using buffs);
  • Т5-Т12 containers:
    • A considerable increase of crafter NPC DVB to minimize the effect of demand on prices;
    • A number of positive changes in the weight and carrying capacity of T8, T10, T11 containers;

The Way for Beginners

  • Northern T1 Counties:
    • Are wholly filled with lower-level mobs (previously, such spawners were only places around starting villages);
    • Mob loot drops were updated to match that of mobs from T1 southern counties;
  • Rivulet Island rings:
    • Updated their bonuses to +14;
    • added quests to get their full set;
    • these rings can be enchanted;

The Way for Mids

  • Fazira
    • added another Fazira map for levels 51-60 (the previous 41-60 map is restricted to 41-50);
    • Fazira spiders now give twice as much XP;
    • Increased the bonuses Fazira rings give per level from +5 to +12 (e.g., Т6 ring gives +72, Т9 gives +108), but their durability was decreased;
    • added T7-T9 rings and quests to get them;
    • a substantial reconsideration of Ice Golem loot drops;
    • added shading to buff duration to make them readable;
    • decreased the overall brightness of snow and light sources;

Vocations and abilities:

  • T2 Vocation stage quests can now be completed at T2 Guides. Only T3 quests have to be picked up and completed at Vocation Teachers beyond settlements;
  • Added tokens leading to Vocation Teachers who give T3 Vocation quests;
  • Hunter:
    • by default, gets a passive ability to shoot and reload crossbow while sprinting;
  • Archmage:
    • fly speed increased 3 times, added a visual effect;
  • Thief:
    • “Steal Talers” basic ability was replaced with “Elusiveness”;
    • The quest that gave “Elusiveness” now gives a new ability — “Pretend”;
  • Anti-invisibility:
    • added a new ability and a quest to get it:
      • applies an affect on a caster that dispels all invisibility effects around them in N radius for n seconds, depleting caster’s HP and MP;
    • Assassin’s Invisibility:
      • allows only 1H sword attacks; 3/4/5 chargers for T1/T2/T3 levels of the ability;
      • increased duration;
      • slightly decreased CD;
    • Thief’s Invisibility:
      • 1 charge on every stage of the Vocation;
      • increased duration;
      • decreased CD;

Magic

  • General:
    • Medium projectiles and AOE (and other magic with long casting time) now use the area or direction that was chosen at the end of its casting time;
  • Pasive HP/MP regeneration powders:
    • 250-450% more effective
    • now have greater requirements;
    • added R1 concentration—don't dispel on death, longer duration, but they tick 30% less frequently;
  • AOE:
    • Disable sprinting while casting;
    • Casting time increased to 1,5;
    • Earth: increased range, speed, decreased CD, added 2 second long stun on hitting a character with the projectile;
    • Air: increased range, slightly increased CD;
    • Water: decreased the number of damage ticks, increased the interval between ticks, decreased CD;
  • Dispels:
    • Significantly increased range, speed, and flight speed for tier cycles;
    • Fixed the wrong radius of the projectile;
  • Air Slow (Wind):
    • Decreased CD;

Refining and Crafting

  • Recalculated the bonuses for having extra crafting points while crafting and enchanting:
    • extra crafting points give a considerable bonus to item quality within the recipe’s quality range and much lower bonuses beyond it;
    • the lower the quality of a recipe, the greater the bonus from extra points;
    • reasonably decreased the bonus for extra crafting points when enchanting items with unmatching recipes;
  • Fixed wrong results of resource refining, including merging and splitting;
  • Cauldron durability is now visible in both item and brewing widgets;
  • Fixed using the last point of durability for multiple brewings;

Addressing Old Issues

  • Fixed excessive loading of sublevels on the client when entering town and castle zones;
  • The third-person camera now looks over the shoulder, and the aiming reticle has full functionality;
  • Fixed incomplete quest progress tracking for gathering quests when filling stacks from different items with varying quality;
  • Respawning for players with neutral or higher karma in T2 counties now occurs in mini-locations with a Green Zone and teleport (as T2 settlements have not yet been introduced);
  • Fixed the "Hit the Road" quest, which could fail to count all coins if pelts and some coins were turned in simultaneously;

Fixes

  • Boss spawners now have a single fixed respawn offset for any level (+/- 1 in-game hour);
  • The bleeding and vampirism skills no longer scale with the caster's MA (Magic Attack);
  • Northerners were reducing PA (Physical Attack) by 90% for one debuff instead of 10%. Now, both debuffs reduce it by 20% each;
  • Chat: Improved tab functionality, chat menu, and the chat is now in a separate window;
  • Fixed several problematic collision errors in level 60 castles;
  • Localization and Descriptions:
    • Fixed localization of ring enchantments;
    • Corrected the names of enchantments in the large and small “Life” and “Health” gear, which were swapped;
    • Added descriptions of the components of the large and small gear in the enchantment descriptions;
    • Fixed localization of quests and items.

Changes

  • Intermediate character backup is now every 2 minutes (previously 10);
  • Characters are no longer deleted;
  • An additional check has been added every 5 minutes to ensure the character is in the game;

Day-Off Changes

  • Added Т5-Т12 items:
    • Pouches;
    • Books;
    • Token Boxes;
  • Added vendors who sell tokens leading to Vocation Teachers (T3);
  • Fixed high drop of T3-T4 tools;
  • Fixed some errors related to map markers;
  • Fixed crafting requirements of several items (including T12 Tools);
  • Set up roles that can withdraw from castle treasury;

ROG Store

  • Added an in-game store for Zlaty (icon with a cart in the upper right corner of the screen, to the left of the Knowledge Base);
  • Current goods::
    • Containers (Pouches, Books, token bags);
    • Cauldrons;
    • Tools;
    • Food;
    • Attention! Cauldrons and tools are less effective than items of similar levels obtained through the game and have lower durability;
  • Upcoming goods:
    • Realty Т1:
      • personal warehouse;
      • personal libraries with cabinets for recipes;
      • personal crafting workshops with craft stations;
    • Character slots;

Best regards,

Update 0.94.1171

Dear friends,

In this update, our main efforts were focused on fixes, rebalancing, and UX improvements. We will also share our plans for the near future.

Things missing from the first versin of the patchnotes:

  • By default spawner areas on the map are turned off and only appear on hovering over or when tracking a quest that requires to kill AIs or gather resources spawned by the spawner;
    • we’ll try to improve the visuals of their borders in the following pathces;
  • Added T7-T9 Frozen Fazira equipments and quests to earn it;
  • Added recipes for Concentrated Bullseye in AI loot drops;
  • Turned on the randomization for seasonal Magistrate Bill quests;
  • Added the changes related to carry weight and castle taxes mentioned below;
  • Fixed the functionality of automatic ability choice when crafting and the default choice of the best ability;
  • Fixed crafting requirement for Concentrated Shining T9;

Fixed issues

  • Items disappearing from the hotbar upon transitioning between zones/teleporting;
  • Items disappearing when interacting with chests due to inventory space limitations;
  • Incorrect resource consumption when cooking powders;
  • Crafting not considering Vocation and ability bonuses above 1st level;
  • Concentrated powder buffs becoming regular upon zone/teleport relog;
  • Server crashes when moving certain abilities in hotbar;
  • Server crashes under certain buff manipulation conditions in Fazira;
  • Equipments breaking without being removed from inventory because of the equipment layer system;
  • Incorrect display of equipped regeneration powder levels;
  • Texts in the knowledge base;
  • Localization;

Changed features

  • Significantly reduced cooldown on Druid powders - Totem (1.9 sec) and Rite (2.3 sec);
  • Returned previous bonuses/penalties to several Vocations;
  • Increased spawn rate of mushrooms by 30%;

UX (User Experience) Improvements

We have long discussed and delayed this decision but eventually decided that we cannot leave the current game entry threshold as is. Therefore, in this update, we have improved the world map:
  • Map now shows markers for all AI and herb spawners;
  • Hovering over a marker shows all resources/AI the spawner has and the size of the spawner;
  • Resources/AI names display their percentage relative to other
    • These numbers show initial values without considering ecosystem influence and random resets;

While there are still no mounts or AI carriers yet

  • Starting carry weight increased from 80 to 150 kg;
  • Carry weight bonus per 1 unit of Endurance increased from 0.125 to 0.250 kg;
  • Carry weight buff increased to 50/100/150 kg;
  • Removed restriction on teleporting with castle taxes;

Crafting, Enchantment

  • Added T4 tool recipes drop from Lv. 40 bosses;
  • Increased tool durability to 30 units for base recipe and up to 39 units for quality recipe;
  • Increased bonuses of Large Gear enchantments granting 2 or more attributes (except for Solidity and Dragon);
  • Bonus crafting points for abilities of different levels;

Elixirs

  • Added common and royal elixirs up to T9;
  • Significantly reduced requirements for crafting elixirs, taler requirements reduced to a lesser extent;
  • Common elixirs continue to fill a castle for a maximum of 16 hours;
  • Fixed royal elixirs - now max elixir level fills a castle for 64 hours;

Spawners and loot:

  • Increased respawn time for T2 boss spawners due to upcoming T2 mine addition with Troll Warlord:
    • Lv. 40 bosses: up to 4 hours;
    • Lv. 35 bosses: up to 3 hours;
    • Lv. 30 bosses: up to 1 hour;
  • Fixed:
    • Lv. of swamp trolls in T2 counties;
  • Errors related to boss loot
    • T3 and T4 powder recipes drop (will result in more stable drop, but T4 twice as rare as T3);
    • Scorpion part drop (was not present before);
    • T7 and T8 weapon blanks drop (now drop more often and stably);
    • T2 weapon, jewelry, ring, large, and small set enchantment recipes drop (now drop more often);
  • Changed drop concept:
    • If two bosses of different levels have the same item drops, the lower level boss will have not only a lower drop probability (and thus fewer items overall) but also lower minimum item quality
  • Drop concept for T2 bosses:
    • Scorpion has the largest drop and highest quality;
    • Warlord has equal chances with Scorpion for large set and weapon blank drops, but on average 25% fewer recipes;
    • Marsh Troll is the most chaotic with lower chances but a full assortment of drops;

AI:

  • Increased minimum turning angle to target for all AI to reduce spinning and attack delay
  • Troll Warlord:
    • Increased movement, acceleration, and turning speed;
    • Increased HP, PA, PD, MD;
    • Increased chance to cast buffs (strengthening) upon HP triggers;
    • Increased attack accuracy but kept attack speed slow;
    • Added strengthening activation (with the same chance) upon impossible target hit;
    • Decreased boundary of its movement - now returns to place upon abuse through passage;
    • Removed unnecessary objects from its cave in which he could get stuck;
  • Lepers:
    • Increased movement speed

Frozen equipment from Fazira

We want to update the items obtained in this location:
  • Fazira armor is now a lightweight version of Solidity and Dragon with efficiency reduced by 30% but requirements reduced by 50%;
  • Quality system has a greater influence on Fazira items than on normal enchanted items;
  • Reduced durability on Fazira items;
  • Added quests to exchange worn-out armor for coins;

Short-term plans

  • Account transfer functionality entirely (game version and characters) from Steam to VKPlay
  • Migration of EU region server locations due to ongoing events
  • Focus on fixing all accumulated errors that interfere with comfortable gameplay
  • Emphasis on the tutorial tavern and Rivulet Island (reworking and specifying quests, clearing and improving the experience)
  • Upcoming mechanisms - castle runes
  • Fixes and rebalancing - Vocations, powders, economy

Best regards,

Update 0.94.1133

Dear friends,
In our new update, we focused on balancing professions, improving castle capture mechanics, and fixing errors.
Additionally, due to the difficulties in transitioning to the free-to-play (F2P) system, we will provide compensation to all players in the form of special food and 4th-level cauldrons.

Added
  • Cauldrons up to level 12 have been added. They can be crafted at the alloy smelter.
    There are two types: lightweight portable cauldrons weighing 5 kg and heavy stationary cauldrons weighing 15 kg.
    The amount of powder produced per brew has been increased by 96%. On average, each cauldron gives 119% more powder.
    These improvements are part of a broader initiative to simplify life on the continent, which also includes increasing the spawn rate of herbs and marked areas on the map.

Changes
  • The flight speed of the crossbow bolt has been increased by 30%.
  • The accuracy of the crossbow bolt has been increased by 15%.
    Due to changed priorities, we were unable to allocate time to AMMO crossbow within the planned timeframe, so we have brought the speed and accuracy of the bolt in line with our expectations for the future "Light" bolt.
  • The stacking of bleeding effects from unnamed monsters has been removed.
    Currently, there is no evasion and damage in relative terms from maximum HP, which reduces the effectiveness of tank builds and unnecessarily complicates the game for new players.
  • Experience in PvE has been increased by 25%, including a 25% increase in experience for the final blow.
    The motivation behind this change is to make the game more accessible and easier for new players, as well as less punishing.

Castle Capture Changes
  • It is now forbidden to fill level 15 and 45 castles with royal elixirs.
  • The time for filling castles with regular elixirs has been reduced by 32%.
  • The maximum time is 16 hours for any castle level and any elixir.
  • The time for filling castles with royal elixirs has been reduced by 24%.
  • The maximum time is 48 hours for level 30 and 60 castles.
  • The cost of creating castle elixirs has been changed to more accurately reflect their value in terms of the duration of the blue phase of castle ownership.
  • The duration of the red phase has been reduced by 50%.
  • Level 15: from 45 to 57.5 minutes depending on the elixir level.
  • Level 60: from 55 to 67.5 minutes for regular elixirs, and from 65 to 90 minutes for royal elixirs.
  • The burning of forts has been reduced to 2 minutes (up to 90% depending on the castle level).
  • The HP of fort gates has been increased by 50-100%.

With 24 available castles, our actions are aimed at increasing dynamics, reducing time intervals, and intensifying events.
Meanwhile, we highlight the recent addition of publicly available information about the start of the red phase and its upcoming addition to the game map.
The originally planned mechanics of prolonged fort burning, serving as a buffer before the rapid loss of a castle for its owners, will be further developed within the framework of the castle grade.

Error Fixes
  • The abilities of northerners that did not apply debuffs correctly have been fixed.
  • The repeated giving of quests by trainers after their completion has been fixed.
  • The chat error where messages were not displayed has been fixed.
  • The absence of a cooldown for invincibility when re-entering the game has been fixed.
  • The error where the PvP invincibility buff was not applied on the starting island has been fixed.
  • The quality mark has been removed from items that should not have it.

Vocation Balance Changes

We have made significant changes to vocation bonuses.

Our approach:
  • Rejection of unified bonuses;
  • Priority of bonuses over penalties;
  • Overall increase in vocation bonuses.

In connection with these changes, we will also provide free redistribution points corresponding to your current character level.

The full list of changes can be found on our website .

Update 0.94.1118

Dear friends,

The transition to the F2P model is not the only thing we have been doing and of course we could not ignore fixing errors and adding new things.

In this patch you can see the following changes:

Added:
  • Plant patches marked on the map. They produce 3 times more plants than other spawners.
    This is one of the steps towards new players who, upon entering the mainland, encounter difficulties in providing themselves with resources;
  • Different types of forest monsters.
    Maenads and Stickmans insects received varieties depending on the type of forest in which they are located:
    1. Pine
    2. Oak
    3. Birch
    4. Sequoia
    They differ slightly from each other in characteristics and are noticeably different in appearance. At the same time, quests that required killing a particular type of monster to complete were transferred to new varieties. Quest givers generally require either the most common variety (Pine) or the variety that is closer to them geographically.

Changed:
  • Boss loot:
    2x more equipment recipes
    4x more enchantment recipes
  • Along with this, the respawn time of T2 bosses has been increased to maintain the value of their loot
  • FA and defense powders have been increased to 40%

Fixed:
  • Vampirism (both for players and the Heretic Master)

Sincerely,

Atlant Games Team

Try Reign of Guilds for free

Dear friends,

Today we are making a huge step for our project — making it freely accessible for everyone.

Unfortunately, it took us far more time to negotiate all the terms of free access with Steam than we had expected. We also were denied the “Free Weekend” programme. But we still found a way around this situation.

Why free access?
  • just like you we realize that the world of Reign of Guilds cannot develop with its current online even taking into account that Steam doesn’t include the number of players from all platforms;
  • we’ve said it more than once that we want to give new players a chance to try the game for free, at least in the confines of tutorial locations (Rivulet Island);

What are the limitations of the free version?
  • Only 1 character per account;
  • Restrictions on the exit from Rivulet Island;
  • Greater progression of the Island Tax;
  • Can’t create guilds;
  • Can’t use customization items (skins and animations);

Restrictions on the exit from Rivulet Island?
  • We still made it possible for the players with the free version of the game to leave the island after completing a quest for each character on the account;
  • We think that all the players who want to try the mainland should have this opportunity;
  • Basically, it gives people the possibility to play the game for free;

What is Rivulet Island at this moment?
  • As a rule, new players spend 30 to 50 hours to leave the island with their first character;
  • The island gives opportunity to learn the game mechanics in nearly absolute safety and get yourself beginner money and equipment;
  • To make the beginners’ experience even richer, we’ve reworked the crafting system in several previous patches, making it available from level 1 on with any Vocation, and adding all that is necessary for it on the island;

DLC “Commoner” and DLC “Knight”?
  • DLC “Commoner” was added to lower the threshold for players who want to enter the kingdom of Dwarrhan. It is relatively cheap but still includes a number of restrictions;
  • DLC “Knight” is distributed to all the players who purchased the base game earlier. It is a version of the game free of any limitations;

Summing up

This step is very important for our project, and we did as much as we could to add the free version of the game in such a way so that the former base game (currently DLC “Knight”) doesn’t lose its value.

To draw the line, we’d like to add that we are going to spend a good half of our time to improve the beginner experience of our game, working on the tutorial locations, quests, map, and making easier a number of core game routines.

With all due respect,

Atlant Games team

Issues with logging

Dear players,

There may be issues with logging into the game from free accounts on 20/09. We are not stopping the servers for maintenance, as this only affects the free version of the game and the new DLC "Commoner".

A solution to the problem is expected within the next 3 hours (by 16:00 GMT+0).

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Best regards,

Atlant Games Team
