Hot fix energy usage. Due to a bug, energy consumption was not reduced in the last update. In this patch I fixed this and now the generator and batteries are working longer ːbigboltː
Energy - 0.50x0275a
The system is up and running... Receiving data....
Hi all survivors, for a long time the game had an uncomfortable energy and wiring system. I've been getting a lot of feedback and I've finally fixed the situation!
I'll start with the most important thing right away, yes this is a change to the wiring and power connection system. Now every device has an In port and every energy generator has an Out port. This greatly simplifies the use of the Wiring tool. Also now you can disconnect a wire by clicking on it, there is no need to find which device or port it is connected to. Also, a lot of people have said that the power is going out too quickly. I have decided that until new power sources are added, I will reduce the power loss of all devices. Many wiring bugs were fixed and new ones were traditionally added :)
The reworking of the power system allows me to easily add new power sources in the future. I get a lot of feedback with your ideas and I enjoy exploring and thinking of ways to implement them!
The Journal has also been updated to include tutorials on some aspects of the game, such as the description of how power works.
Now let's go around the other changes: The second important part of the update, is to add location scale optimization. You may have noticed the shaking of hands or any objects when you are a very far away from the starting point. This critical point was fixed without breaking the optimization, and in the future I will be able to expand the gameplay level and add more variety!
For fans of dynamic gameplay, an FOV setting has been added (for me, the game has a new twist)
I think let's get back to the usual list of fixes and new features:
Fixed bug with Wiring tool UI button display
Fixed bug breaking the 3D printer if you save the game while recycling it
Added access card glow
Added save sorting by date
Metal can be produced from iron in the recycler
Fixed bug with closing the chest at a distance
Added world type display
Turned device indicators to transparent while looking at them
Also fixed other minor bugs Hope you enjoy the new energy system. Thanks for your interest!
New energy system in development
An early prototype of the new power system, each object will now have a marked Input and Output port for power.
Here you can give us your opinions and suggest any adjustments. I'm always interested in having a dialogue with the community :)

To celebrate the release of the new update, I'm launching a discount. Thank you to everyone who supports the project! ːbigboltː
Hot fix - 0.45x0754a
The emergency response team has arrived.
Fix the printer ui bug after game load
FPS optimised for building
New Buildings - 0.45x0702a
The docking was a success!
Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've released an update, but there's a reason for that. And now I will tell you everything in order.
The main part of this update is the buildings. It took me a while to implement the possibility to create a second+ floor. Yes, now you can build a ship upwards and new buildings such as stairs are added to help you move around the ship. I spent quite a bit of time reworking the ship's hermetic system and now every room that has all walls and ceilings will be hermetically sealed!
The wall models have been redesigned a bit.
Half floor/roof buildings have been added. For those who like to look out the windows there is also a gift. A window floor/roof has been added, as well as panoramic windows.
Tired of doors? Now you can make a hatch in the roof.
Now you can create unique ships, I will definitely be adding more building types in the future and most likely painting or something like that will be added!
If you like building, but grind is not your thing, then let me make you happy: Creative Mode has been added to the game! No hunger/oxygen/health spending. Everything costs 0.
For the fans of the decor ship, for a long time you could only put flowers and similar décor on the floor, but now you can put them on tables and similar surfaces!
I hope my short story has given you the point of this update. And now I will tell you about some of the fixes:
List of changes:
Black boxes are now outlined, making them visible
Fixed a bug related to keeping the ship hermetic sealed
Fixed a bug that caused some buildings to disappear
Fixed a bug that caused settings to open in the main menu
Optimized inventory work
Fixed save compatibility bug of previous versions
Localization fixes
Fixed missing of light in the ship
Assignment of inventory buttons on the keyboard was added
Fixed wall appearing in emptiness bug
F2 bug fixed
And many other minor fixes.
I hope you enjoy this update. Thank you all for continuing to keep an eye on the project, I have many more updates in the pipeline and I will implement them and keep you happy with the content.
The on-board computer receives a message about low prices and spring cheer.
Hello, the spring sale has started at steam and Remains is part of it. I'm delaying the update a bit for a few reasons:
There has been some complicated work with the console game update
The new builds and second floor+ have had to rework the existing "sealed ship" system. It's a bit complicated, but I'm trying to get the update ready as quickly as possible!
For those who don't know, the next update will add new buildings for the ship, as well as the possibility to build multiple floors.
Thank you all!
Balance by Community - 0.42x0874a
To all crews... The main command module has received a large number of orders. Allow for protocol edits!
Hi everyone who follows the updates. This time our community has expanded a lot! It means a lot to me, the last two weeks we have been chatting to you and listening to all your feedback on our Discord server. And this update will introduce the fixes and suggestions that we have highlighted! Before I start talking about the update, I want to say thank you for your interest!
And now let's get to the update:
The most popular thing you asked for is a balance of asteroid mining: -I've sped up asteroid mining by 3 times.
Also a lot of people said that "Gravity hook" should be improved, I decided to improve it a bit:
Gravity hook speed 2 → 6.
Range Hook 16 → 30.
Hook Radius 0.27 → 0.35
I was not very surprised when I saw that when mining the debris they turned into something unknown. The reason for this is the deformation of objects still in prototype stage, but I still tried to limit the appearance of this kind of bug. Now the debris won't shrink very much.
Preparing for the new builds: Most likely the first thing that will come up in the next updates will be new builds. For this reason I have redesigned the UI at Blueprint. And also according to your wishes I have split the buildings into Inside and Outside buildings. Now if you want to build a wall inside or outside the ship, you need to select it.
This will probably not be visible to you, but the ship's flight system was redesigned. Sometimes players get a bug that their ship goes into radiation zone, but now this should not be the case.
I tried to rework the lighting and now the game looks brighter than it was. Soon I will add brightness settings, etc.
The option to re-assign any control buttons has been added!
Now let's go over the list of fixes:
Fixed critical bug with missing Access Card and Black Boxes
Fixed "Empty Death Backpack" bug, impossible to interact with the backpack that falls out after death
Fixed a bug that prevented items and death backpack from saving
Some bugs with displaying gamepad icons have been fixed
Enlarged text on interaction buttons
Fixed a bug that caused the control to break when moving an item in your backpack
Fixed some gamepad controls
Lights on your ship will be turned off due to engine bugs
Little fix for entering the ship at speed
Added automatic engine shutdown on total power outage
When dying with blueprint, you can't press Respawn
Fixed glare on close range
Fixed many minor bugs
Base Builder Fest
Builders, it's your time. There's a building fest in Steam. I hope you'll find something new and build your own worlds! ːbigboltː
Gamepad - 0.42x0693a
Updating the on-board computer control module.... ːsimpleprocessorː
Hey, can you hear me? I haven't released an update in a while, but that doesn't mean the project is abandoned and development has stopped! I've been working on adapting the game for the gamepad and porting the graphics engine to weaker devices and I'll tell you why I did that soon on our Discord server. Back to the update:
This time I've added full controller support, but at the moment only Xbox controllers work without problems. I think those who play with controllers from other platforms understand that not all games support them out of the box. But I will add full support for Playstation and Nintendo controllers in time! To play today without any emulators you just need to run Remains through Big Picture mode.
I've also upgraded the player speed auto-stabilising controls to make the game easier to play. Now if you're flying at high speed and press the reverse button, you're stabilised. The same works if you start moving in the other direction at high speed. There is no need to release the control button now for stabilising!
In addition to the controller, the game has a minor change in lighting, and there will be more changes in the next update. Shadows, LODs and shaders have also been optimised. Hopefully now the game will be a little more beautiful.
And as usual, let's go through the list of changes:
Fixed a bug in the demo/training where you couldn't walk around
Changed the Rooft with the lamp, now if you put too many lamps fps will not drop as much as before.
Fixed bug with auto-stabilization
Modified auto-stabilization
Fixed bug blocking up and down flight
Previews of inside and outside buildings are now displayed correctly
Minor UI fixes
Fixed Shipcore being disabled when adding resources in Items database
Fixed bug with adding multiple quests to a new world
Fixed compass position when changing HUD change
Fixed bugs with interaction inside inventory
It is not a complete list of all the fixes, also many minor fixes and changes that were not added to this list. I hope you enjoy playing Remains and thank you all for supporting the project!
