Alot of balance changes in this update and a new character. The new character Prisma is intended as a more advanced, challenging character so beware ! There will likely be some balance updates on Prisma once i see how players are performing. As this is a large update the global leaderboard will be reset.

For the next update im going to work on adding more Events/bosses/enemies.

Ive changed how some of the leaderboards work on the back end, so please make sure you are running the newest version or you may get a crash while viewing the leaderboard/deathscreen.

Changes

  • New character Prisma - Is immobile but has other qualities to make up for it
  • Enemy hp and damage scaling is now exponential rather than linear (will need some tweaking for balance)
  • You can no longer fire a gun and use melee at the same time (melee takes priority)
  • Chosen perks are now displayed on death screen (was patched in previously without announcement)
  • Limited the speed in which Quadrigneous's orb's lazers can expand their length
  • Reduced Quadrigneous's orb damage by 20%
  • Increased Quadrigneous's stomp damage by 20% (dont get stomped !)
  • Reduced Spectre hp from 90 to 75
  • Spectre's now have high knockback resistance (should stop them being pushed ontop of walls constantly)
  • Added a timer ring around blue powerup orbs to indicate when they will expire
  • Added a shrinking timer to the Barrier talent to indicate when it will expire
  • Events that are timed have a timer built into their direction indicator arrow
  • Bosses now have a form of health display built into their art
  • Increased the base perk reroll cost to 20 ore
  • Changed how the perk reroll cost increases from adding the base reroll cost each time, to doubling each time
  • Changed the Reload Shield perk from damage immunity with 15 sec cooldown to 20% damage reduction with no cooldown
  • Renamed the Reload Shield perk to Reload Armor
  • The Chakram perk has been reworked. You can now only have 1 chakram out at once (2 with whirlwind perk), the chakram now bounces off walls and can hit enemys multiple times and eventually returns to you.
  • Reduced the Quickness perk's melee speed cap from 50% to 25%
  • The Mind perk that been reduced from 10% to 5%
  • Removed the increased ammo clip size from the Bulletstorm perk
  • The Deflection perk now requires you to be slightly more accurate with your timing to successfully reflect a projectile
  • The leaderboard now displays what weapon and ability mods a player chose on their run


Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where whirlwind perk was unintentionally allowing you to deflect projectiles from behind
  • Fixed a potential crash if you pressed back on the weapon selection screen without selecting anything
  • Fixed the Quickness perk sometimes allowing you to go above its melee speed cap
  • Fixed potential crash if enabling performance mode mid game

Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug that potentially caused the game to either crash or show garbled perk text on the 2nd run during a game session. Make sure your game is up to date if you've experienced this issue

The Repetendium Demo is now out, hence the playtest will no longer be updated.

Please use the Repetendium Demo from now on as the playtest will no longer be updated and eventually removed.

Quick patch to address a couple crashes and balance issues, alot of these changes were applied previously to this patch but not announced here.

Changes

  • Temporary buff orbs now have a chance to spawn when mining or killing enemies
  • You now gain on perk reroll every 5 levels

  • New special perk - Double the duration of buff orbs
  • New special perk - Upon taking damage retaliate by firing a blast of shots around yourself
  • New special perk - You can no longer dash, but will automatically nullify any damage taken using a dash charge
  • New special perk - Gain 1 perk reroll every level instead of every 5 levels

  • Lowered enemy hitpoints across the board by ~25%
  • Increased enemy hitpoint scaling ~20% (should effectively make the enemies easier at first while still letting them get sufficiently tough later on)
  • Buffed Blaster Grinder mod damage 100% to make up for lack of range
  • You now dash based off your last movement direction
  • Game pauses if you click outside the game window


Bug Fixes

  • Fixed gamepad vibrating while using mouse/keyboard input
  • Hopefully fixed crash relating to boss homing attacks

Likely the last patch in the playtest, added a new boss and tweaked a few things for balance

Changes

  • New Event - Quadrigneous miniboss
  • New special perk - Your ranged attacks have 5% chance to fire a homing rocket dealing 500% damage
  • Reduced the chance of the same event happening multiple times in a row
  • Sawnoff overkill mod projectile count lowered from 24 to 18
  • Decreased enemy hp scaling ~15%

Tiny Patch, mainly looking to have people test out the first mini-boss and to make sure the updated leaderboards are working correctly :)

Changes

  • New Event - Lucent Lord miniboss
  • Reworked the leaderboard and deathscreen to be more legible and be able to display non-english steam names
  • Magma orb enemies can now damage other enemies when exploding.
  • Changed the magma orb explosion indicator to better reflect its position and timing



Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where ore could be generated with too high hp

A small update today, mostly just some balance changes, still trying to get the average run to last somewhere around the 15 minute mark. The Blaster should be a little more effective now with its damage shield. The rest of the abilities are ready for testing now, some may be a little under/over tuned. Next update will likely open up the rest of the weapons and first miniboss.

Changes

  • Blaster now provides a 50% frontal damage shield while firing
  • Rebalanced the enemy spawning to prefer melee enemies over ranged
  • Unlocked all the abilities for testing
  • Reduced wall hp to 2
  • Increased the default light radius around the player
  • Changed Deflection perk to only deflect projectiles in front of you
  • Renamed Slugger perk to Quickness and reduced its effectiveness by 50%
  • Increased potion hitbox size



Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug where an overrun automated miner event could still be started
  • Fixed a hard crash when you ran out of special perks to choose from
  • Fixed bug where a shorter shield could overwrite a longer one
  • Fixed bug where the selection indicator would be incorrect when selecting a orb perk

Changes

  • Added a new event - Protect the automated miner
  • Events (only 2 events in game right now) drop a crystal orb which grant 1 special perk and 1 large stat boost
  • Added a how to play screen that shows up the first time you play and can be accessed via the ingame menu
  • Increased blaster damage by 40%
  • Reduced enemy hp scaling by 12%
  • Reduced enemy spawn speed scaling by ~10%
  • Chosen perks are now displayed on the pause screen
  • Made the hit effect on walls/ore more obvious
  • Modified any melee/digging perks to effect both stats
  • Changed perks involving special abilities to mention the ability you picked rather than 'special ability'
  • Lowered dash recharge to 5 seconds
  • Increased size of the ability cooldown bar



Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug with some enemies not being cleared after you die
  • Fixed a bug where dying to a magma sphere explosion would mess with the camera (Salbris, confirm the fix if possible :))
  • Fixed bug where the brrrap ability would not fire immediately if your gun had just fired
  • Projectiles now correctly get destroyed if hitting your barrier
  • Fixed bug where music could stop playing

Changes

  • New perk - Special ability cooldown reduction
  • New perk - increase dashes by 1
  • New perk - increased exp gain
  • New perk - increased ore pickup range
  • New special perk - increase your damage by upto 50% based on your missing hp
  • New special perk - your special abilities are now cast twice
  • New special perk - your melee attacks deflect enemy projectiles
  • New special perk - become invincible for 3 seconds after taking damage

  • Level up perks now display their perk level and their level cap if applicable
  • Increased the games internal rendering resolution to 960x540, this will give the player more view distance in game but comes at the cost of the game possibly not filling the entire screen (adding non pixel perfect scaling to fill the screen will come in a future update)
  • Moved dash cooldown display from the cursor to the top of the screen
  • Slightly reduced enemy hp scaling
  • Slightly reduced ranged enemy damage
  • Increased melee knockback
  • Player level now displayed on level up screen


Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug where mouse input would not match in game cursor at certain resolutions and aspect ratios
  • Fixed bug on controls menu where the rebinding could become stuck
  • Fixed bug where selecting a perk with the mouse could shoot immediately after
