You can land anywhere on Mars and start a big infrastructure.

Pay attention to different parameters such as altitude, light, wind, season, resource abundance, etc., which will affect your base development strategy.


Destroyable Terrain



If you dig a mine, it leaves a pit. You can flatten a mountain or fill a crater into a plain.

Not enough wind? Then fill out a mountain with enough wind power.

No more mines? Then dig down a layer of land, there is always a surprise waiting for you.

If you dig deep enough, or fill high enough; your masterpiece can be seen in space. This ...... may be the ...... wonder?



More Pure Simulation



From now on, there are no more various pop-up events.

You only focus on the prosperity of your base: are the factories working, are there any shortages of supplies, are the inhabitants happy, is the water and power supply still enough.

You may also be concerned: how are the engineering vehicles working in faraway places, have they been left in the mine pits, are there still enough charging posts on their roads, do I need to build a road that will run faster.

Maybe you also wonder: should we call a group of residents to enhance productivity? Is there enough food for everyone at the moment, how much supply is left in the market, and how much surplus food is left in the warehouse.


Open-ended transformation of the planet



There is no one task that requires you to do this or that. The planet's air pressure, temperature, radiation, and oceans are all dynamic indicators that interact with each other.

When you are sure your base is running steadily, then open the terraforming interface and see what else we need to do to terraform Mars.

Another long time no see. Several months have passed in the blink of an eye.

Sorry for the lack of news for such a long time, I always feel that the version is not good enough and I am ashamed to make any announcements.

I have done most of the new version development work during this time.

It is mainly about the artistic effects and the balance between various mechanisms.

【Dev Log June】 New Content,Maps and Gameplay

Hi everyone, I'm Tholus, the developer of Reshaping Mars.

I've been working on the new version of Reshaping Mars these days, and it's been a long time since I made the last announcement.

At present, the new version has made remarkable progress. So, I think it is a good time to come out and share with you some great changes in the new version of Reshaping Mars.

Before that, I would like to state that all images are from temporary art resources and do not represent the final quality of the new version.

Let's get straight to the point!

You can explore and develop every corner of Mars, and the resources, wind, sunshine, and temperature changes in various places will affect your planning strategy.





Removing mountains and filling seas



The mountain is annoying? Turn it into some minerals! The coastline is not spacious enough? Fill up the sea to build a factory!

In the new version, most of your development will change the planet's appearance. How can you say that you have reshaped Mars without leveling a few hills?


Sea level, atmosphere, and temperature



You have to carefully control the composition of the atmosphere and temperature and try to make the Martian atmosphere comparable to the composition of the Earth. Otherwise, you may get an ice planet or a pressure cooker Mars. Your inhabitants won't be able to take off their protective suits and respirators and run carefree under the Martian sunset.

There are also many new gameplays and contents, such as new resource collection, resident demand management, market economy system, etc. I am still polishing these gameplays. As soon as there is any gratifying progress, I will definitely report to you here!

[Dev Log] Reshaping Mars Version 0.2

Make A Name



I decided to name the next version, it's the second version after the early access release, I used to call it EA_1_2 in the previous announcement, but it's not easy to remember or type.

Since this version will have huge game core changes (see the previous announcement for details), I'm going to call it: Reshaping Mars Version 0.2, aka Version 0.2.



New Map Mechanics



Currently, I have done most of the game design for Version 0.2. and started some coding work.

The following picture is one of the recent development results, the new Mars map mechanism:



I will not disclose the detailed gameplay content first, and leave it to you to explore in the 0.2 version in a few months.

A Completely New Gameplay - What's Next In Reshaping Mars?

Hi everyone, I'm Tholus, the developer of Reshaping Mars.

I expect that in the next version, the core of the game will be completely reworked, which will bring a bunch of changes to the gameplay.



Why do this?



The current version is playable and fun, but not enough.

The original update plan was to add new factions, stories and units. but! These are far from taking the gameplay to a higher level.

I wanted the gameplay and content of Reshaping Mars to have a higher ceiling, so I decided to redo the core of the game.



What will it be like?



In general, it is still a base-building game, with some RTS gameplay.

But the operation of the base will be more layered and detailed than at present. Management will also highlight the "human" factor.

In addition, there will be a whole new story, and it will no longer be presented in the current annoying pop-up form.

There are also brand new logistics systems, humanities systems, etc... Since the design is not yet fully finalized, and the necessary mystery, that's all I can say for now.



I want to keep playing the old version, what should I do?



No problem, in the next version, I'll give you options. The default is the new gameplay mode.

If you want to continue to play the old archive, you can choose the old mode (that is the mode that everyone is currently playing).



So, when will it be available?



It is expected that beta-testing will be open in 3-4 months.

This version will take a long time to make, and I will try to update the dev log regularly. I'm a person who can't hold back secrets. Once I do something, I can't wait to tell you guys!
