The Tranquil – Feng Qi
A man of a gentle temper, slender and feminine in appearance, Feng Qi was born of two different races in Nuanor. Because of this, he possessed powers of transformation, but never knew how to utilize it.
One day, he took it upon himself to leave his hometown and pursue his studies in his early life. On his quest for knowledge, he almost met his end in the most dangerous of situations. Much to his surprise, a passer-by by the name of Yue Zhang saved his life. Her noble beauty struck deep into his heart and he immediately fell in love with her. Much to his sadness, she could not see him as a man she could love, instead only someone she could care about.
Filled with sorrow and anger at rejection, he lost himself in these emotions. At this time, he found she was close to a much more masculine, burly male. This left his emotions in turmoil but gave him a sense of resolve and he was finally starting to become a man. The anger he felt, triggered his powers, and he finally learned how to transform himself. His first attempt failed, however, but instead transformed into something he desired; a towering man, muscular and strong. He sought out Yue Zhang time after time with this new power, but having learned he could change his form, she dismissed him each time.
Even having been rejected time and time again, he still enjoyed the pursuit of love with this woman. Suddenly, however, he learned that when he changes into the form of another person, his own existence will gradually fade from the minds of those who knew him.
After this realization, he received devastating news; Yue Zhang has gone to the west and sacrificed herself in battle. She took on a giant horned dragon that had threatened the land, taking it to the grave with her. Upon hearing this, he realized his shallowness, and was determined to dismiss such feelings. Deciding to return home, he was met with yet another tragedy. Because of his constant, arbitrary use of his power and the consequences it has, his parents had long since forgotten him. Even the concept of them having a son was erased from their minds.
Feng Qi, determined to convince them, repeatedly tried to explain that he is their son. Each time, they rejected the idea, not knowing who this man is. On one of his visits to persuade them, their lives were hanging in the balance as their home was attacked. Still a loyal son to parents who could not remember him, he gave his life to save them. As he drew his final breaths in the mortal world, he finally realised; no matter your appearance, you should try to live your own life, because what is worst than hating your existence, is not existing at all.
Judgement – Yue Zhang
Yue Zhang is both beautiful and powerful, instilling the aura of her noble nature in the hearts of the people. Despite her cold face, her heart is warm and her intentions pure. She is a kind-hearted, travelling hero of the land, boldly traveling alone, saving lives and lending a hand to those in need. Her actions alone earned her eternal respect from the people of Nuanor. Because of her actions, this led to the fateful day she saved Feng Qi’s life.
In her travels, she discovered that the Western Horned Dragon is about to take form, and its presence will bring disaster and destroy the world. Yue Zhang did not want to see the horror this would bring and took it upon herself to go to the West alone, resolved to kill this dragon and resolve the crisis before it got out of hand. The Western World belongs to the Illusion realm and can only be entered with the soul. The physical body cannot enter. If the soul has left the physical body for too long, the soul would be forced into the Spirit Realm. Although the dangers were heavy, Yue Zhang stood firm and had no hesitation to carry out her fateful task. Before going into the Spirit Realm, she left her physical body with a friend, who was also sheltered in the real world and left with confidence.
In the Western World, she overcame the Horned Dragon and despite her soul being wounded, she stood victorious. She left the West, seeking out her body, but could not find it. She quickly discovered that the “friends” she knew as the passer-by hero she was known to be, were quietly celebrating her death. It turns out, they were not courteous and respectful, but instead cared more about the reputation of vanity, and this was always held by Yue Zhang’s incomparable beauty.
She was greatly shocked, and because she could not find her physical body, she was forcibly thrown into the Spirit Realm. Her strife in combat against the Horned Dragon, on her initial entry into the Realm, has caught the Soul Queen’s attention. From here, the Queen reshaped her body and made her the Guardian of the Temple of the Twelve. Yue Zhang, forever grateful to the Queen for this rebirth, kept her cold and proud appearance, but underneath, harbors great loyalty to the Queen.

The Righteous – Shen Chi
Shen Chi was born into a well-known, prestigious family. Due to being born with unnatural powers, he was favored by his Martial Arts teachers since he was a child. This also made his temperament arrogant and sometimes incomprehensible. When he was just 10 years old, his faction met its match. A rival faction had invaded the land in full force! The masters of his race used their Sacred Treasure to enchant the land and form a protective barrier, which should have secured victory and assured their safety.
However, on the eve of victory, the enemy changed their plans and sent in several warriors on an infiltration mission to put an end to this conflict. They deceived the young Shen Chi and stole the Sacred Treasure. With the Treasure stolen, the protective barrier was destroyed, and the invaders broke in, wiping out almost all of his race. Shen Chi’s Master exhausted his power before death, to create a protective barrier around his student, to protect him from harm against the invaders. Witnessing all of this with his own eyes, he was forced to mature much faster than a child should.
After this, he began to hide his identity and blamed himself, feeling great shame for the loss of his race. He continued to practice Martial Arts, however, with the intent to take back the Sacred Treasure of his race, exact revenge and rebuild his people. During this decade, he experienced unimaginable hardships that no ordinary man could survive, and his personality drastically changed. In his heart, he blamed himself for the disaster that happened to his people.
During his time in the South, he had been retired until he met Sai Hua, a rare beautiful woman that traveled among men. At that time, Shen Chi was only just an adult and Sai Hua exuded beauty like he never experienced before. Never having an interest in women before, he somehow became involuntarily infatuated with her.
Sai Hua quite easily worked out Shen Chi’s plans after a short while, but she did not immediately report this to the High Priest of the faction that raided his land all those years ago. She thought seeing his plan fail would be the most fun.
Instead, she acted as if she was helping him. But, right when he was finally about to achieve his goal and reclaim the Sacred Treasure, Sai Hua lured the High Priest inside and ridiculed Shen Chi on the spot, laughing at him for overestimating himself and for even assuming she would fall in love with him.
In a massive fit of anger, he killed Sai Hua on the spot the second she let her guard down. However, he was also massively injured by the Priest, only able to preserve his own life by faking his death.
The Sacred Treasure had been moved to another location and once again, he had to start a new journey. Thinking back to his failure, he bears massive regret, developing paranoia and the inability to trust people again.
Enduring costly sacrifices on his travels, he gained power equal to that of the High Priest, to fight him in a decisive battle to reclaim his lost clan and the Sacred Treasure. Through 10 days and 10 nights of fierce, unrelenting battle, they had both fought to their deaths. Dying, he realized he did not achieve his goals. His fierce dissatisfaction with this outcome moved the Queen of Souls, who reshaped his body and contained his spirit. While doing this, she revealed to him that the Sacred Treasure is lost within the Spirit Realm. Reluctantly, he decided to remain in the Temple of the Twelve as the Tiger Zodiac, loyally standing guard, but in his heart, he is still seeking to fulfill his wishes.
While in the Temple, he is admired and given subtle hints of affection by Yue Zhang. He cannot bring himself to believe these feelings are real, given that his heart is filled with Sai Hua’s lies.
The Loyal – Sai Hua
Pure and beautiful in appearance, Sai Hua looks as harmless as a bunny. But in fact, appearances can be utterly deceiving. The Priests of the South, the same race that wiped out Shen Chi’s people, granted her the power of charming. No matter who she charmed, it always ended in death. Often dressing in exquisite clothing, she has always been unchallenged in attracting the opposite gender. She firmly believes that anyone who looks at her will fall deeply in love. She simply could not stop thinking about her admirers who craved her love (even when drinking tea), to the extend of being unable to sleep, feeling extreme happiness.
However, Cang Mou, later to become the Rooster Zodiac, broke everything she knew. In her travels, she met Cang Mou, and immediately became interested in him. She set up a plan, hoping that he’d fall in love with her and express such, to enjoy the chase he’d put on. Unfortunately, he saw the essence behind her beauty and immediately dismissed her.
Sai Hua experienced unprecedented failure. She couldn’t believe or accept she failed to attract him. She truly did begin to feel for him, but instead, she resentfully wanted to kill him, but she was easily controlled by his sonorous singing.
Since then, she became more serious in her plans to constantly capture one man after the other and kill them, to give her comfort through the misery. Her heart felt truly empty, with nobody to fill it.
Later on, she met Shen Chi, whom she believed would just be another man she could capture. After learning of his plan to restore his people, her plan to destroy him came to fruition, following his movements carefully, like she had him in the palm of her hands. In the end, she met her demise at the hands of an angry man while she laughed at his misery.
At the very moment of her death, she unwillingly attracted the attention of the Queen of Souls. She freed Sai Hua from the sentence of death, and wiped her memory of everything she did before, reshaping her into the Loyal Rabbit Zodiac. This only worked to some extent, because she could not forget the deep resentment she felt after being rejected. The desire to hurt those who became attracted to her still resided within her.

Heaven and Earth: Zodiac Bosses - Rat and Ox
The Temple of the Twelve is a new dungeon coming to Revelation Online concerning the Queen of Souls, who represents the power of the past, the future, and the eternal. Though no one knows where she comes from, all between death and birth are said to walk in her domain and their souls are captured and collected by the protectors (aka Zodiacs) of the Temple of the Twelve.
Aside from soul harvesting, the protectors secretly work to guard the path between time and space, from where players enter the halls within the Temple of the Twelve and try to work together to defeat the protectors’ tests and remove the seal between other realities.
Each hall within the Temple of the Twelve has their protector which corresponds to an animal of the zodiac: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. For this first insight to the Zodiac Bosses Lore, we will be focusing on the first two, the protectors of the Rat and Ox Temples.
The Astute - An Ye Luo, protector of the Rat Temple
Although they do not look alike, An Ye Luo and Ying Shan are siblings. Ying Shan is bulky, tall and powerful, while An Ye Luo is slender and nimble.
The Astute An Ye Luo was never suited for martial combat, he has always been rather agile and light on his feet, making him well-suited for thievery. His lack of steadfastness led him to covet gold and riches, because of which he sullied his family name, making him an outcast. This only served to increase his jealousy, and while he loved Ying Shan, his brother deeply, the resentment caused him to dethrone him as the head of the family. He exploited Ying Shan’s only weakness and robbed him of his fighting strength, causing his death. Subsequently, out of regret, he took his own life.
Though, he still wished they could be brothers in their next life, he wanted his brother to know his weakness and insignificance. The Queen of Souls heard this wish and granted it, bringing An Ye Luo back to life with great strength and power, though, even with this newfound power, he discovered with regret that he was still inferior to his brother.
The Indomitable - Ying Shan, protector of the Ox Temple
Ying Shan has always looked out for his brother, An Ye Luo, he put his life on the line for his family, only to be betrayed and stabbed in the back by his brother. He could not comprehend what An Ye Luo had done to him, and not only was he disappointed in his brother, he also started to doubt himself thinking that he had failed his brother for him to have treated him this way.
He begged the Queen of Souls to wipe all of his memory of his brother, so he could forget him and his betrayal entirely. The Queen of Souls granted his wish, and to show his gratitude Ying Shan turned his loyalty away from his family and dedicated himself to the Queen of Souls.
He strove to do better and be stronger in order to prove his worth to her, although he no longer remembered his brother, the same blood ran through his veins and he felt a need to get close to An Ye Luo and protect him. What Ying Shan didn’t realize, was how deeply this hurt An Ye Luo. It was to be his lasting torment.
The story of the Rat and Ox is a sad one, with twists and turns of betrayal, regret and torment, but now they serve the same ruler, the Queen of Souls.

Heaven and Earth: Battle Companions
The work on the upcoming update Heaven and Earth is in full swing. We'll be introducing a lot of new features and perks. Let us tell you about some of them. This article focuses on the Battle Companions.
Battle Companions are players' loyal combat partners. They will be happy to keep you company on the battlefield or in the arena, but you can't summon them in Starshatter Island, Faerie's Funland, or in Territory Wars.
There are three types of Battle Companions in the game: normal, rare, and super rare.
You will receive your first Battle Companion: Astera by mail upon launch of Heaven and Earth if you have already progressed through Emerald Falls, if you are new to Nuanor, you will receive Astera throughout the first part of the story.
They can be obtained through daily and weekly events, the Temple of the Twelve 5-man dungeon, Holy Treasure Maps, and various other places throughout Nuanor.
Power and Stats
You can upgrade Battle Companions by killing enemies, participating in daily and weekly quests, training them and more.
The Companion Array is a interface where you can have up to 3 Battle Companions protecting a single Battle Companion in the center of the Array. This will give the middle Battle Companion extra benefits from the guarding bonus that the Companion Array provides. The stats this can increase are Maximum Health, Physical Attack, Physical Defense, Magic Attack and Magic Defense. The increase in your own characters stats also can affect the Array.
Their attributes are divided into three categories: basic attributes, main stats, and bonus stats. Basic attributes are Strength, Dexterity, Spirit, Vigor and Intelligence. Maximum Health, Physical Attack, Physical Defense, Magic Attack and Magic Defense are combat stats. Bonus Stats represent a whole lot of extra stats, such as combo series and combo strike resistance, critical damage and resistance to critical hits, ability regeneration speed, and many others.
Each Battle Companion has their own specialty, a special Fury Ability, and a number of class talents that are determined randomly the first time you summon them. They can also acquire some universal skills. However, only eight of them can be leveled up to the maximum level using special Skill Keys of the first, second, or third grade and you can reset them for a fee any time you like!
You can use Battle Companion Skill Keys or "Gain Aptitude" to obtain Battle Companion Skills. They may gain Aptitude when they are upgraded or gain Intimacy. You may obtain a random skill when you unlock a skill slot, but it is not definite.Use the Battle Companion Skill Keys in the Battle Companion Skill panel, and your companion has a chance to learn a next level skill. Use a high level Battle Companion Skill Key and you are guaranteed to replace a lower level skill with one of a higher grade.
Battle Companion Skill Keys can be obtained through Guild Auctions, Noble Treasures, The Temple of the Twelve, Time Warp, Holy Treasure Maps, and more.
