We're excited to announce the latest update, freshly rolled out today! This update brings along a brand new feature - the ability to playback voice recordings in the log interface. Additionally, we've made some necessary fixes and improvements to enhance your gaming experience. For a detailed overview of the changes, please refer to the patch notes below.

04-03 patch note



[New Features]

  1. Added the function to playback character voice lines in the log interface.
  2. Added some game tips to certain loading screens.
  3. In Chapter 4 "Nightmare," added new means to confront the "Shrike Consciousness."

[Adjustments & Optimizations]

  1. Adjusted the "Range Finder" item so that it does not expose the player after useage.
  2. Optimized the sprite performance of the weapon station entering and exiting stealth state.
  3. Optimized some art assets.

[Bug Fixes]

  1. Fixed the issue where the controller is unusable in the preparation interface under certain circumstances.
  2. Fixed the problem where some controller buttons were displayed as keyboard keys in Chapter 3-1 "Abandoned Amusement Park" and Chapter 3-5 "Base Infiltration".
  3. In Chapter 3-4 "Camouflage", adjusted the terrain of "Supply Crates" so that the "Svarog" heavy tank could not enter.
  4. Fixed the issue where under certain circumstances in Chapter 3-4 "Camouflage", using the "Portable Rocket Launcher" to attack the inactive "Svarog" heavy tank resulted in abnormal damage calculation.
  5. Fixed the problem where under certain circumstances in Chapter 3-7 "Trap", enemy reinforcement units overlapped with existing units on the map.
  6. Fixed an issue in Chapter 4, "Blood Horror", where in some cases, the "Shrike Consciousness" in the third phase would fail to summon illusionary soldiers.
  7. Fixed the issue where in the second and subsequent playthroughs of the game, players couldn't obtain 12 "Airstrike Missiles" at the specified location in Chapter 4 "Dead End."
  8. Fixed the achievement "All Packed Up" which couldn't be achieved in replay mode.
  9. Fixed the issue where under certain circumstances, viewing the story playback in the "Collection-Battle Records" would cause the game to freeze.
  10. Fixed the issue where the epilogue plot playback for Chapter 4 "Nightmare" in the "Collection-Battle Records" unlocked incorrectly.
  11. Fixed the problem where the epilogue plot playback for Chapter 5-3 "Die Another Day" in the "Collection-Battle Records" couldn't be unlocked correctly.
  12. Fixed the issue where some image data in the "Collection-Battle Records" for the epilogue of Chapter 4 "Deviation" couldn't be unlocked correctly.
  13. Fixed the problem where under certain circumstances, players couldn't enter "Bakery Girl 2092R" after completing Chapter 4.
  14. Fixed the issue where under certain circumstances in "Bakery Girl 2092R," there was an error in the number of items during item preparation.
  15. Fixed the problem where in "Bakery Girl 2092R," enemy "Noylu" would attack units of the same faction.
  16. Fixed the problem where in "Bakery Girl 2092R," enemy "Noylu" would enter the "Stunned" state.
  17. Fixed the issue in the second playthrough of Chapter 4 "Prey and Predator" in "Bakery Girl 2092R," where viewing Athena or Javen's weapons during the battle preparation phase would cause the game to freeze. *Note: Old saves with this issue will still encounter it after the fix, but new saves won't.

03-30 patch note

[Fixes]
Fixed an issue where unused accessories and upgrade blueprints in backpack are removed after loading a save.

*These already removed cannot be restored, please load a former save file to get them back.(Resolved)
Added a failsafe mechanism to check weapon upgrade materials. After the update, entering preparation phase should bring back any unused upgrade blueprint or accessory that is lost due to errors.

1. Fixed the issue of auto-save failure and round restart function error in Chapter1-4 and Chapter2-3

3. Fixed the issue where in Chapter 2-1,The interlude of character reaching the top-right corner when skipping the charactor will hidden,no-skipping the character wil exposed.
4. Fixed an issue where characters would switch weapons when performing certain actions with controller.
5. Fixed a problem with garbled text appearing on the grenade interface in Chapter 1-1.
6. Fixed an issue where UI buttons on the title screen were misplaced after interrupting operations.
7. Fixed an issue where upgraded weapon levels were rolled back in replay mode for Chapter 1.
8. Fixed an issue where an enemy unit was not defeated in the right-side in interlude of Chapter 2-2.

'Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery' will relaunching free demo

Hi, agents! As planned in previous developer's log, we've been invited to participate in the Steam Strategy Fest and will be relaunching our demo at 4 AM on August 28th for a week-long trial!



The content of this festival's trial version remains the same as before: all 7 acts from Chapter 1 plus the first 4 acts from Chapter 2. Based on agents feedback from Steam Next Fest, we've made numerous optimizations to the early gameplay and replay challenge rules among other details. We hope to get more suggestions from our agents about these changes.

In addition, we've added a background introduction to the story at the beginning of the game and included a new mysterious plot in the prologue so that new agents can better immerse themselves into our 'Reverse Collapse' narrative.

Dev Blog 1 - Steam Next Fest Recap & Optimizations

Dear agents,

Time has elapsed since our participation in the Steam Next Fest, from the closed beta back in March to the recent public demo, we’ve had a bunch of you dived into the Bakery Operation and tossed us many valuable feedback.

In this interval, we received an official recap of the June event, unveiling that Reverse Collapse secured 15th spot in the most played demo list. This accomplishment has taken us aback, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering participation and support across all phase ; achieving this milestone wouldn't have been possible without your involvement.

While we’re eager to learn about your experience with our Steam Next Fest Demo, we believe it's more important to fully understand every players’ thoughts and develop corresponding optimization plans before initiating further engagement.

Analzying thousands of questionnaires could have posed a challenge, but seeing all your enthusiasic feedback have been our driving force! Our team had identified key areas for optimization based on your concerns. Seizing this opportunity, we also aim to provide insights into our recent development endeavors and future plans for the game.

【Enhancing Early Game Instruction System】

Reflecting on our March closed-beta, we recognized opportunities for refining our instruction and UI systems For the Steam Next Fest demo, we’ve adopted a comprehensive approach to bolster the existing instruction system.

Considering the diverse demands of players in the public demo, we've taken steps to address this complexity. For instance, many experienced strategy gamers found the step-by-step instructins uncomfortable, and the need to re-watch instructions upon restarting a campaign hindered the overall experience. In response, we have introduced two new features to tackle this issue: the option to "Disable New Player Turtorial" (which can be reactivated through settings) and the option to "Skip Tutorial”.

Of course, we’re dedicated to aiding newcomers to the strategy game genre. We’re refining the “Help” and “Tips” functions to facilitate a swift grasp of the game for everyone.



【Adjustments to Repetitive Missions in Campaign】

Following the Steam Next Fest Demo feedback, one theme stood out - the repetition of missions in a campaign.

Whether it’s experimenting with strategies or aiming for the S-rank, we noticed that replayling campaigns was a frequent practice among many of you.

To address this insight, we're refining our save system. In "Casual" and "Standard" modes, we're implementing an automatic turn-start save function, while transforming the "Restart Stage" feature into the more intuitive "Restart Turn" command. For those who prefer manual saves, a simple one-click option is in the works as well.



Additionally, in response to concerns about “unintended movements”, we're honing the experience. This involves refining default path selection methods, enhancing movement previews, and more.



We understand that it’s part of the “game” and pursuit for some agents to attain the S-Rank status, so we will be adapting the "Replay Mode," previously accessible only upon completion of all campaigns, to become available after concluding each major chapter (temporarily closed upon entering the next chapter). This approach allows you to freely choose between revisiting past battles or embracing new challenges without compromising your exposure to the narrative of stage chapters.

As for the design of bonus objectives within the campaign, we'll be continuously assessing and fine-tuning them in the times ahead.



【Gameplay approach and Character Focus】

"Reverse Collapse" isn't a grand-scale tactical game with multiple units battling it out. Instead, our focus lies on a few key characters, letting you experience the entire Bakery Operation through their perspectives and each mission features special combat designs intertwined with narrative moments.

In the first chapter's plot, Mendo becomes isolated and under attack, needing to stealthily navigate to avoid unfavorable odds. However, the slow-paced crawling experience didn't quite capture the thrill we aimed for. Therefore, we’ve made the 【tranquilizer darts】 item available earlier in the first chapter. While this might increase the learning curve initially, mastering stealth gameplay will become more engaging, potentially allowing you to turn the tide in dire situations by utilizing this crucial item.



【Thoughts on Narrative Pacing】

As previously mentioned, the post-reset storyline has expanded to over 300,000 words, resulting in a relatively extended gameplay duration. The first climax of the story was designed to unfold after the "first" mission failure. However, this occurs relatively late in the Steam Next Fest demo version, preventing some players from fully experiencing the game's charm early on.

We'll be exploring the option to add key plot elements earlier in the game, offering more interested players a glimpse into core plot thread. this approach aims to captivate the interest of both dedicated fans of Reverse Collapse and newcomers alike, inviting them to delve into the alluring mysteries that lie beneath the futuristic veneer of the game's science fiction narrative.



Beyond the aspects mention aboved, we’ll continue to polish music, sound effects, keyboard/mouse and controller gameplay experiences, copywriting, UI, and more. . Once again, a sincere thank you to all who have been with us on this journey.

开发者日志#1|新品节回顾,关于【前期流程】【重复挑战】的优化方向&【剧情慢热的一些讨论】

各位特工,大家好!新品节已经过去了一段时间,从3月份的招募内测到这次的公开试玩,许多特工加入到面包房行动中来,并提供了非常多有价值的行动反馈。

期间我们也收到了来自官方的新品节Recap总结,得知游戏在Steam6月新品节最热玩试用版位列第15位,这让我们感到很惊喜,真的非常感谢各位特工在行动中的积极参与和支持。

虽然很想第一时间就和大家聊聊试玩的感受,但我们更希望在充分了解大家的想法,并总结出有针对性的调整方案后再和大家沟通。整理并分析数千份问卷的确有一些辛苦,但看到大家的热烈反馈不失为甜蜜的烦恼,团队也针对大家关心的各项问题,明确了后续优化的重点方向,这次也是想更多以开发者日志的形式和大家聊一聊我们最近都在做些什么,以及未来的一些开发计划。

【前期流程体验优化】


起初在3月份招募内测的时候,引导部分还是存在不完善的状况,这次新品节版本我们在原先的基础上做了更详尽的补充引导。

考虑到单一的引导形式很难适应公开测试中更多元化的玩家要求,例如许多资深的战棋玩家对手把手的引导感到不习惯,重新开始战役仍需要再次观看引导的设计也影响了大家的体验,我们决定通过增加“关闭新手引导”(可通过设置再次开启)和“阶段跳过新手引导”两个功能去解决这个问题。


当然,考虑到还是有不少初次尝试这类游戏的玩家,希望通过新手引导更充分地理解游戏机制,我们也会对教学的内容做进一步优化,并通过完善“游戏帮助”和“小贴士”功能让大家快速上手。


【战役重复挑战的调整】


新品节我们收到最密集的反馈主要集中在战役的重复体验上,不论是战役试错,或是想去挑战S评价,重新开启战役成了很多玩家游玩期间的高频操作,大家乐于挑战、复盘的热情也确实超出了我们的预料。包括很多玩家向我们提出“悔棋”的做法,实际上也是由于当前重开试错繁琐产生的。

对于当前并不普适的存档机制,我们会在“休闲”和“标准”模式下,新增每回合开始时的自动保存功能,并将这两种模式下的“重开阶段”功能调整为“重开回合”。对于有手动保存习惯的特工们,我们也新增了一键存读档的功能,将大家从繁琐的手动存档中解放出来,为大家在步步为营的紧张战斗中提供更多的便利。


此外针对“移动误触”这一问题团队也进行了重点调整,进行了包括更改默认的路径选择方式、优化移动预览时的信息表达在内等一些列方案去优化。


新品节过程中我们观察到很多玩家都是“不S不舒服“星人,团队很理解战役评价是游戏体验的重要一环,也很感动大家反复挑战的韧性,我们计划将通关后才开启的”复盘模式”调整为在每一大章结束后都开放该模式(进入下一大章后会暂时关闭),这样可以在不影响大家完整体验阶段章节故事的同时,自由选择重新挑战以往的战役还是面对接下来的新挑战;至于各个战役额外目标的合理性,我们也会在接下来的时间里持续评估、调整。



【特殊作战体验改动】


逆向坍塌并不是一款操作多兵种进行大规模作战的战棋游戏,更多是着眼于几位主要角色,以他们的视角去还原整个面包房行动的全貌,战役中会出现许多融合了剧情情景的特殊作战设计。

在第一章剧情中,蒙德因为遇袭与大部队失联,在危急的情况下他需要尽量隐藏行踪,避免陷入以少对多的不利局面。然而一段时间只能缓慢爬行的潜行体验,没有让大家GET到这一玩法的乐趣。针对这个问题,我们计划将原本在第二章后半段解锁的潜行道具“催眠针”提前至第一章解锁。这会让第一章要学习的内容变多,但攻克潜行战役的体验也会变得更加丰富,紧急情况下玩家也可能会因为手握这个关键道具而化险为夷。



【关于剧情慢热的一些想法】


正如之前向大家透露的那样,重置后的剧情文本达到了30余万字的体量,整体游戏流程会相对较长。原本设计中故事的第一个高潮会随着任务的“首次”失败而展开,但此时已经是试玩版相对靠后的进程了,因此并没能让大家在故事初期就充分感受到游戏设定上的魅力,许多没有接触过原作或少前IP的玩家逐渐产生了剧情太慢热的感觉。

目前团队讨论出的方案是考虑在前期增加一些涉及关键剧情的内容,让更多对剧情、设定感兴趣的玩家提前接触到一些核心线索。逆向坍塌虽然更多被当作一款粉丝向的重置作品,但我们不单单只希望能让一直喜爱面包房少女的老玩家满意,也期待能有更多的新玩家去揭开游戏未来科幻的外表下、那宿命交织怪诞的隐秘真相。


除了这些比较重要的部分,我们后续还会对音乐音效、键鼠/手柄的操作体验、文案、UI等诸多模块细节进行调整,非常感谢内测、线下测试以及新品节期间给予我们珍贵反馈的特工们,大家对于细节品质的追求同样也是开发组成员坚持的动力!

另外还有一则消息,我们决定应Steam官方邀请参加8月底举行的策略游戏主题节,届时优化调整后的Demo会与大家再度见面,一些错过试玩的新晋特工们也不必担心了,具体消息还请大家关注后续公告。

游戏的研发已经进入最后阶段,未来这段时间,我们会在社区,尤其是玩家群中和大家进行更频繁的沟通,对于一些关键的改动希望听到大家更多的声音,非常期待大家加入玩家群一同参与讨论。

Demo Update Patch Note 6.20



1. Fixed the issue that some players cannot select difficulty.
2. Fixed the display error of Karl's character info page in Battlefield Detail during Preperation of Prologue.
3. Fixed the area display of Snowmobile and Oil drums.
4. Fixed the issue that some players cannot load undamaged saves when some saves are damaged.
5. Fixed the issue that certain save slots are not functional for some players.
