Version 0.7.22.0 - World Gen and Building UI Update
World Gen and Building UI Update
This update is mostly focused on starting to normalize how the world gen system works, establishing a building system that feels accessible to the widest range of players, and optimizing a few things.
Version 0.7.22.0 - Patch Notes:
Simplified the building system to use a well-established 1m Grid snapping system, with the possibility of larger blocks later on that will fit into that grid. This is designed to maximize creative building while simplifying the mechanics for the sake of casual gameplay
Initial spawn biome and weather is now consistent with a more neutral temperate region, from which the player will venture out to hotter or colder areas as they explore the world
Updated ambient sound
Added saving/loading of generated terrain
Weather effects improved
Forced the game to use DirectX 11 for the time being, due to reported issues with DirectX 12 and certain Radeon cards
Stay tuned for more updates VERY soon (likely in a week), which will feature vegetation and resources that the player can harvest! Fun!
Version 0.7.21.0 - Infinite World and Build System Improvements
Infinite World and Build System Improvements
This took a minute, but this will mark a pretty significant expansion to game functionality, including infinite terrain generation as you explore the world. The barrier walls are down, and you're free to explore! The build system has also been improved, and is now snapped to a 4m increment world grid, for convenient alignment of rooms and wall elements. This system will also fit in nicely with the random POI and dungeon generation that will be added in the near future.
Version 0.7.21.0 - Patch Notes:
Removed barrier walls, and added infinite terrain generation for limitless exploration
Build mode has been improved and aligned to a 4m world grid
New building parts have been added
Weather and lighting effects have been improved
Saving and Loading of structure elements is now functional (saving of world elements will be added very soon)
Version 0.7.20.5 - Survival Mode Testing
Survival Mode Testing and Visual Overhaul
Now that we've found success with initial multiplayer tests, it's time to bring the open world survival elements back in, using the restructured map sequence and overall architecture. The plan is to have these essential gameplay elements stabilized and combined with the Steam multiplayer connectivity before the end of the year!
Version 0.7.20.5 - Patch Notes:
Adventure mode with on foot navigation, aiming, and shooting grenades

Added sound for hovering of different structures to make it feel a bit more tactile
Version 0.7.19.2 - First build with Godot Engine - Construction Gameplay Test
Greetings! This is kind of an advance test for people to try out the construction gameplay, and is the first of 3 updates happening throughout the long weekend. Give it a try! there's much more to come...
Version 0.7.19.2 - Patch Notes:
Brand new build using Godot Engine
Intuitive RTS building controls for testing
Random World Gen
New 1:2 pixel art assets
Version 0.7.18.1 - Ship Piloting Update
Ahoy!
The RTS mode worked well! However...I started to realize that limiting the scope of gameplay to just that bird's eye view perspective would never truly offer the kind of immersion and engagement that I want for this game, and for this fictional world that I'm building.
As a result, I've decided to bring the project back to it's roots as a first / third person survival / exploration experience. Don't worry! The strategic map perspective and functionality will likely be recycled in some form later for something like an interactive map room / specific modal or menu that the player would engage in.
What you'll see in the this update is newly updated ship piloting controls that are similar to what existed a few versions prior, but now much smoother, with higher fidelity models and textures, and powered by Unreal Engine 5! Yay!
Hop on board your starter vessel and start exploring the world of Rheksetor.
Enemies will be coming VERY soon!
Version 0.7.18.1 - Patch Notes:
changed to third person orbiting perspective
added intuitive ship controls: WASD for movement, Q / E for yaw, and CTRL / SPACE for altitude
full day / night cycle with atmospheric lighting effects (speed controlled by left / down / right arrows)
vast open world, soon to be populated by a variety of explorable / lootable points of interest and plenty of enemies defending them!
