  • Fixed CTS (Catch the Star) not being reset properly
  • Fixed some bugs with player reset during restart

  • Added a new "Preview" layout to the level editor
  • Added the possibility to pause the preview in the level editor
  • Fixed issues with Shield up checkpoints (Could trigger multiple times, and cause a memory leak)
  • Fixed audio effects not being properly removed on Doki Doki
  • Fixed a visual issue with texts on the tutorial

    (0.7.3d)

  • Reworked all Parallax/Backgrounds with a new system
  • You can now revert Parallax direction in the editor
  • Removed Spotlights until further notice
  • Fixed a bug with TriangleSingle's duration
  • Fixed various issues with the new restart method
  • Fixed player respawn issue with custom levels

Patch 0.7.3a - Shield Regeneration, Performance mode & Faster restart!

Hi there!

Today we're introducing a big quality-of-life update, which is adding long requested features & changes. Let's talk about the most important changes:

  • Shield Regeneration System: We know that the game is hard, and our initial plan was to create a challenging experience, and I think we achieved it, but we also want to make sure, any player can enjoy the game, which is why we decided to introduce this new system. By reaching "Shield Up" checkpoints, you'll regenerate a missing shield, some levels have some, some others don't. We're still in the process of balancing it properly, but we're convinced it is a very cool feature that will allow players to enjoy more of the game.
  • New Performance Mode: Performances in the game have always been an issue, and we introduced long ago a Performance mode, but it wasn't perfect. Today we decided to replace it completely with a new system, allowing you to change the inner game resolution scale, lowering the amount of pixels on the screen, this will allow lower-end devices to run the game smoother.
  • Faster Restart: Restarting a level, has always been too long (reloading the entire layout) - this patch, we reworked entirely this system, and now the level will restart way faster than before, without reloading the entire layout again. We hope you'll like that change!


There's a lot more to this patch, but we wanted to cover first the main features of it! As always thank you all for your patience and support and we hope you'll have fun with these quality-of-life changes! ♥

E.A. PATCH NOTE - VERSION 0.7.3.a


Additions/modifications:


  • SHIELD REGENERATION - This patch we're introducing the Shield Regeneration System, which will allow you to regain a shield upon reaching it.
  • FASTER RESTART - We reworked our entire level restart system, from now on these should be faster than before!
  • NEW PERFORMANCE MODE - We replaced the previous performance mode with a new one, allowing you to change the inner resolution scale of the game.
  • TUTORIAL UPDATED accordingly to all these changes
  • TRANSLATION UPDATED - If you're willing to help us translating the game in your language, join our Discord!

Patch 0.7.2a - New introduction level, Editor changes & More!

Hi there!

It's been quite some time since out last content patch, if you want to know more about it, we explained it a bit in our last announcement.

In this patch, you'll notice a new introduction level, replacing the one we had until now, a new performance mode in the game settings, massive changes to our functions for the Editor and an update to all our translations available! We've also made some backend changes, to ensure it will run smoother than ever!

E.A. PATCH NOTE - VERSION 0.7.2.a


Additions/modifications:


  • NEW INTRODUCTION LEVEL - "Ember" from Kubbi joins the party! This will be our new introduction level
  • EDITOR FUNCTIONS UPDATE - We made massive changes to the editor's functions as well as adding a new object, make sure to check that out!
  • LEVEL BALANCING - We've rebalanced some levels of the game that could be a bit unfair, we hope you'll like it better now
  • TRANSLATION UPDATED for all languages available
  • BACKEND IMPROVEMENT - We've made also some big backend changes with this patch, hopefully the game will run smoother
  • PERFORMANCE MODE - You'll find in the settings a new performance mode, if you're having issues running the game smoothly

Autumn Sales Live & Update on the development

Hi!

We wanted to give you an update as well on the development of the game. It's been a rough period for everyone (it still is) but things need to roll and life goes on as we say, we did take an extended break from the project for a few months, this was really needed but we've been back on the development since a few weeks/months now.

Some things have changed, mostly in the game's backend because we were very unhappy with some of the core systems, and how they were behaving. There was also a lot of performance issues, which we're trying to tackle as we speak, as well as adding a new performance mode, which will remove some game elements, effects, in order to help slower computers run the game smoothly.

Here's a short list of changes already made as well as some currently undergoing, that are planned for the next release:

- (Editor) New TAG system, replacing the old InstanceID one, it will be much easier now to select a specific object for a specific function
- (Editor) New generic tween functions, you can now move, change angle & size for non bullet type objects
- (Game/Editor) New enemy type "OrbitMeteor" (preview included) showing off the TAG system to properly select dedicated instances, each element can be controlled independently
- Last level for Orange Factory / Introduction of the new theme/chapter
- Performance mode/improvements -> We reduced a lot the processing time of a lot of events, which significantly reduced freezes and lags
- Editor QoL changes (Copy-paste event being one of the main new things)
- Editor Preview changes/fixes (preview from current point will be fixed)
- (Editor) Functions reorganization

Patch 0.7.0e - Bugfixes (Editor/Custom levels)

Hi there!

More fixes coming today on the level editor & custom levels, some functions weren't triggering/breaking the game, as well as some other fixes + some QoL changes.

Patch 0.7.0a - Level Editor & more

Hi there!

This is it! ... OUR LEVEL EDITOR IS NOW AVAILABLE! - We know you've all been asking for this for quite some time now, so we took most of our development time make it a reality, sooner than we usually planned!

The editor is currently very early in development, everything you'll see will be improved over time, but we still wanted to bring it to you nonetheless! If you have any feedback, if you find any bug, make sure to let us know inthe appropriate channel on Discord!

There's also more coming with this patch, so let's take a look.

Level editor, upcoming level & more! - #Devlog 1

Hello everyone!

This is our first time doing a small #Devlog - So we hope you'll like it! We wanted to discuss with you about a few things that are coming up very soon in Rhythmy, new features, levels and the long awaited level editor!

So we're gonna discuss all this in this Devlog, and give you more insight of what's happening in the back!

Level Editor


Yes that's right.. level editor is coming very soon in Rhythmy! We're very proud about this feature, and we hope you'll have a blast creating your own levels as well as playing other's.

So let's dive right into it shall we?

(Everything is still work-in-progress, so things can and will change)



Here's a small glimpse on what the editor will looks like, we tried our best to make the UI as flexible and easy to get into as possible. So you'll be able to resize, organize, move all of its components to your liking! (so it better suits your own workflow on making levels)

We also wanted to make it very accessible, so anyone could make their own level easily. About those levels you'll be able to make, you'll be able to select the music you want to create your level on, from a large variety of songs, that will be bundled in the game (some of them which have been exclusively composed for the occasion)

We'll constantly be updating this list, thanks to all of our featured and partnered artitsts, that are making this possible!

We're still working on this, so we can't give a date right now - BUT you can expect an alpha/beta to be available by the end of April / early May.

Upcoming level


While we're working on this level editor, and preparing everything for its arrival, we're still working on new levels, one of them that will be out very soon! We had to rewrite and refactor some of our code, to better prepare for the level editor, which allowed us to introduce new functions - that will also be available inside this editor.

We want to show you a small teaser of what we're cooking up for the next level! Everything you'll see there, will be possible to do with the Editor!

New features, improvements


We want to thank you all for your feedback, this definitely helps us a lot making the game even better! Which is why we've introduced in the previous patches many of your requests, which we'll continue to do.

We know the game is hard, which is why we've toned down the difficulty a bit in the previous patch. We're still looking how our levels performing on everyone, and if we see anything wrong, we'll make adjustments!

We'll add also new warnings types, that will warn you when something is about to move, and in which direction!



Also, here's a small list of stuff we're working on, that will come out as soon as they're ready:

  • Profiles, which will allow you to have multiple saves, and reset each of them
  • Statistic menu, where you can check your performances on each level anytime
  • A new game mode, which we won't give much information on right now..
  • New chapters, which will be out once Orange Factory will be completed

Patch 0.6.5c - Major balance changes

Hi there!

We had much feedback on the difficulty of some levels, phases that were indeed, a bit harsh towards players. Our goal is to make a fun and enjoyable experience before anything else, but it also needs to be challenging!

So in order to make things as fair as we can, we decided to do a major rework on all levels, now, what does this mean?

- All levels have been reworked, this means you might see major differences now, compared to what you previously played
- We added more warnings, some elements were poping off too fast from sides of the screen, and most of them were unpredictable, so now you should see them better!
- We toned down 'variance' - We added on some phases a little variance to make every play unique, what wasn't right, was the fact that you needed to be very lucky to pass some patterns, we definitely hope that with this patch, this has been majorly toned down.
- We also fixed a few remaining bugs
