Gameplay tweaks and bug fixes

Tweaks




  • Provoker bullet speed lowered from 1.25 to 1.00
  • Bloodhound missile damage raised from 13 to 25
  • Riftminers boss mk3 now shoots 50% less asteroids in asteroid barrage pattern
  • Updated the progression scale of the levels for faster leveling and going through loops. A small explanation how things work. Every enemy kill gets you (invisible to player) experience points which differ from enemy to enemy. Once you hit the threshold, boss spawns.




    With the old, linear system, later levels tend to last too long and there is no cap. With the new system, levels last shorter so the whole thing is more dynamic, plus the progression is capped after level 15.

    Warp malfunctions are tied to level length (each warp malfunction lasts half of XP needed for completing the next level) so they are shorter now too.

    Fixes



    Fixed bloom effect which got broken after the update to new Unity version
    Fixed images and weapons names appearing wrong
    Fixed some issues with warp malfunction (also lasts shorter)
    Fixed dark pact not displaying health properly
    Fixed resolution issues, game now supports only 16:9 aspect ratio, up to 1920x1080. Due to technical difficulties i'm unable to support different aspect rations and UHD resolutions at the moment



Tutorial and controls rebinding are still in the works, slowly getting there.
Also started laying foundations for translations.



As usual per every update, resolution and other settings will probably be reset so you have to adjust them again.

Performance update and small bug fix

Performance update



Project has been updated to Unity 2019 with Incremental garbage collection. Frame rate should not drop below 60 fps, only in rare occurences (boss appearing) when it drops to 30 fps for a frame.

Bug fixes



Rippers (second level robots with saws) should no longer bug out and stutter on the left side of the screen.

New waves added, weapon tweaks and fixes

New Waves



42 new waves, which makes 292 in total. More shielded enemies for your energy weapons to chew on, more levels 4 and 5 waves since they were lacking in numbers, and more warp-in waves.

Weapon Balancing


Improved firing rate and bullet speed for Bouncer
Bloodhound has +100% fire rate and -45% damage
Razor deals 50% more damage

Fixes


HUD elements are now properly hidden behind shutters on level loaded, boss sequence and warp
Special bar not blinking after warp now fixed
Fixed recoil of Minigun

By popular demand, i will now start working on TUTORIAL and CONTROLS REBINDING.

New Weapon Added - Flakk

Packing a mean punch and even meaner 20 pellets that go around in all directions when they hit the enemy, POW!

Leaderboards are now live! (Health bar is working properly too)

Patch notes:




  • Leaderboards are now visible in-game for all three modes
  • Health bar is now displaying remaining health properly
  • Game should now start in exclusive full screen mode if that was previously selected (it was using windowed full screen before). Minor fixes to the resolution/full screen selection menu are still needed
  • Minor performance improvements
  • Minor UI inconsistencies fixed






Small update with a big change

By popular demand, i lowered enemies HP from 15-40%, depending on the enemy. Lots of players find the game too hard and hard mode next to impossible. Since they don't soak up as many bullets now, i will work on the whole game having a faster tempo and better flow.

Metal Storm didn't work on gamepads so that's fixed now too.

Leaderboards are pending, i'm having issues with Steam API, but they are stored on Steam.

I'm working on the in game UI for displaying scores, there's some technical issues but should be resolved soon.

Boss Raid



Boss Raid Mode. 60 boss raids per year. Leaderboards are now displaying scores for all runs, but i will make them separate for each week run. I will be making hard mode Boss Raid mode too.

Small user interface improvements in menus
Hopefully fixed the no spawn bug when enemies just stop appearing
Hologram properly despawns when you die

You can now pause the game on escape button too besides P when playing on keyboard
