Fall Patch
Hello Loopers!
Happy November - With this patch we are bringing some performance optimizations, fixes and more class abilities as we prepare to start working on transitioning Rift Loopers to Xbox next year!
Coming up this fall - the team is working on a new game mode: Operations
Operations game mode will be more linear and objective based story missions, where players will have to work together to successfully complete the scenario. Here is a sneak peek at the first Operations Map coming up.

Ability Overhaul + Pyro DLC Class
Hello Loopers!
This patch we are bringing a total overhaul on how abilities work, the menu UI, and ability mechanics as we introduce our first DLC class - The Pyro!
Abilities One of our goals is to release Rift Loopers on console, so we want the gameplay to feel natural on a gamepad, previously, having 4 active abilities made it awkward for current button layouts to easily aim and move while pressing abilities. So we are bringing down the number of active abilities you can learn to a max of 2 and increasing the max passive abilities to 6.
We have also reverted the change to have right thumbstick control weapon fire, but, we have added an option in gameplay settings to reenable this if you want this back on!
Items Items are a new feature that gives players a starting support ability, these items can be selected and unlocked in the load out menu. These abilities are fire and forget and have longer cooldowns than most active.
Class Abilities We have added the foundation for unlocking different class abilities in the loadout menu, expect to see more coming soon!

Gamepad Support overhauled - Virtual cursor is no longer in the game
Mines and Turret abilities can no longer be placed anywhere in vision and will only be placed near character

Airstrike is now autofiring and will target enemies in a radius
Helldog Animation Bug fixed
Psy Worm health bar bug fixed
Improved Drone Strike power up
Several enemies will now "drop" in on the player as part of spawning
Exploder enemy explosion now effects enemies
Exploder enemy explosion timer decreased by 50% and damage increased by 200%
Laser Abilities now returns in arc before ending

Giga QOL Patch
Hello Loopers!
It has been an exciting couple weeks since our 1.0 release - we appreciate all the support and feedback you all have given and as such, we are pushing out some major changes and improvements to the game.
Biggest change is to improving support for gamepads - the right thumbstick will now shoot your weapons as well as face your character - this allows you to take advantage of both triggers and bumpers for abilities - which should greatly improve comfortability in using lined abilities. Let us know how this feels.
Another change is REMOVING the passive requirements to unlock the Ability Modifications special upgrade - after thinking about it, I was just linking them to random passives and it didn't really make sense to force players to have to take those passives - so ability unlocks will now be available when you max out the ability level (level 6). Granting ability mods may change in the future, but for now they are available immediately.

Rift Loopers 1.0 is now available!
The team and I are very excited to announce that Rift Loopers is out of early access today! I'm very proud of the team and what we have achieved in just one year, and I look forward to continuing to see where Rift Loopers goes in the future with the continued help and dedication from our amazing supporters. We could not have done it without your help!
As I mentioned in the previous post, our immediate focus over the next few weeks will be on any high priority bugs but we already have plans for more content coming this summer, including more enemies, bosses, powerups and a new character!

Release Prep

Endless Wave mode Patch

New game mode: Endless Waves - survive as long as you can in the endless wave mode, with each wave getting progressively more difficult and unleashing new enemies. Earn bonus crystals for every wave you survive!

Pre-Release Patch
Hello Loopers!
We are preparing for the 1.0 release of Rift Loopers in the next month or so, an exact date is still to be set but will be announced in the coming weeks!
With 1.0 release, we have accomplished everything we set out to achieve in our EA roadmap - but this is not the end! Development will continue on Rift Loopers to bring you more content throughout the year - New Maps, Enemies, Power Ups, Abilities and more will be coming as FREE updates, but new characters will be made available only through DLC packs.
As such, the price at 1.0 will remain at 4.99 USD!
