0.362.0 - Aim for the Moon
Simulation-theory study breaks down
Researchers today announced that their trials which had been showing promise for years broke down. Their field of study was simulation-theory; the idea that we live in a universe run as an immensely complex simulation. Dr Bostrom suggests that being unable to replicate previous results is evidence for, not against their ideas, and suggests that “maybe somebody upgraded the engine.” The group admits that they must start at square one, but insists that they will continue their efforts.
ERS sued for planned obsolescence
ERS faces a lawsuit for planned obsolescence. Features included in the Nuclear-Assisted Gimballed Hall-effect Thrusters were found to have no function but to regulate their functional lifespan. CEOs claim middle management looked to their own advancement with a profitable technology, while project managers insist the orders to implement the features came informally from the top. As an intermediate step, the features can be removed free of charge at any service center, and should greatly improve the lifespan of these thrusters.
Official registry of the Bald Eagle
Formerly considered a dangerous and unauthorized ship customization, the so-called Bald Eagle has nonetheless dominated the Ring Racing scene. To prove their design is sound, the originator of the customization manual (wishing to remain anonymous) has completed safety trials. The results describe the customized vessel as “volatile, but fundamentally sound.” Though its recognition from the dealer is an important landmark for ringracers, the dealer will not carry unauthorized design mods. Those wishing to obtain one of these vessels are encouraged by Ring Runner Racing to seek a custom ship-crafter from within their community.

Fixed a bug that caused build-in EMP shielding to underperform. Cothon 212 now has the EMP shield level as advertised.
When you bought a brand new ship and immediately sold it back, it was listed twice in the Dealer menu.
Added additional check for “Full House” achievement, so you get it whenever you have a full crew on-board, not only when you just hired someone. This makes it possible to get that achievement when switching to a smaller ship.
Tuned physics settings for very small objects to prevent them from passing through the hull of your ship.
Translation updates.
0.353.3 - Ghost in the Rings
A big patch, but still a patch. Changelog:
Right-clicking on an invalid object with a guiding drone installed will still rotate your ship.
Gravimetric drone now has a visual scale for readouts displayed.
Extra achievement.
Fixed a bug that caused your launch sequence to count as a ring dive in ship logs.

This is another hotpatch. Changelog:
Claim beacons work again.
Expanded one of crew quests with more interaction options.
Changed autopilot disengagement protocol after you destroy a rock you targeted to be the same as if you caught it - you continue on the same course.
Fixed wrong faces being displayed in some dialogues.
Re-worded some of the ship and equipment descriptions.
0.349.30 - Disengagement Protocol
This is a customary hotpatch addressing all the glitches found in latest release. Changelog:
Catching an autopilot target with a salvage manipulator will use the same disengagement protocol as when acquiring cargo, making you move at the same velocity you were moving before intercept.
Salvage manipulator was showing through clouds of dust and explosions.
Drone systems will now lock targets only when they are actively acting upon them. This allows other drone systems or the manipulator to pick up more targets.
Racing crew will keep away from the edge and won’t approach miners as often as they did.
Salvage manipulator is much better at handling light items.
Fixed a bug that caused salvage manipulators to try and catch parts on ships (excavators, reactors, docking clamps). Ships held this way were not counted as a legitimate salvage and in some cases could cause a crash when you returned to the station.
0.349.25 - Manned Lithobraking

SAN-BUS patent expired
The Ship Area Network patent expired this week, exposing the bus protocol details to the general public, followed by torrent of firmware updates for popular hardware. Experts claim that the opening of the protocol will enable autonomous and semi-autonomous systems to coordinate efforts without human intervention.
AR1500 features unlocked
Soft-locked features in the AR1500 Salvage Manipulator were exposed by the exposure of the SAN-BUS protocols. The leaked command codes enable all existing manipulators to interface with ship sensors and function as ore and asteroid retrieval units in addition to their normal function. Triskelion-Armstrong claims that the ore retrieval function is not covered by the limited warranty of the product.
New mooring regulations
Following recent drone-related accidents, all ships mooring in the docking ring of Enceladus are now required to completely power down all on-board systems. In response to the new regulations Enceladus Corp provides shore power to all interested parties at a reduced rate.

Adjusted crew dialogues so they are less likely to ask for a raise twice in a row.
Enabled AR1500 Manipulator to grab ice, grab ore and load up your ship when you open your excavator.
Fixed a number of glitches related with AR1500, such as reaching out for targets even if powered off, trying to catch moonlets and grabbing things from your own cargo hold, and arm physics applying force in the centre of mass of your ship instead of it’s mounting point, ARM acting upon targets that it didn’t firmly grab and arm moving much faster than it should be possible.
AR1500 will now slow rotation and align small objects, making it easier to capture lifepods and similarly shaped items.
Changed AR1500 Manipulator upgrade simulation to show what it is doing.
