New Feature: The Backpack
Do you get plagued by decision paralysis every time you enter a weapon or utility room?
We’re here to help with a brand new backpack!
The backpack will allow you to carry one extra weapon and one extra utility with you on your runs. All you need to do is open the menu and then click on the weapon or utility you want to store in your backpack. You can then switch between the weapon you’re using and the weapon in your backpack in the menu, and add another weapon or utility into the backpack if you find something better!
New Utility: Link

That’s why we’ve added in a brand new utility called the Link. The Link connects enemies so that they take de-buffs and damage together. After all, why go to all the trouble of pulling off a combo that sets an enemy on fire when you could set multiple enemies on fire instead?

Spring Content Update: Cheats and Viruses!
Our free Spring content update is here and it’s positively infectious…
Seriously though, we’ve added a special new room where Ace will literally become infected by a virus. It’s fun, we promise.
In this free content update, we’ve added a new room type to ROBOBEAT and opened up the Cheats menu, so you can debug your way to glory!

New Room Type: Virus
This new room type is designed for those beatmasters who love a high risk high reward strategy. In essence, you’re putting your health on the line in exchange for a powerful weapon.
Here’s how it works.
When you enter a virus room, you’ll see a big button on the ground. You can either choose to walk on by or push the big button to install a virus. If you push the big button, you’ll be presented with 3 high tier weapons and/or utilities to choose from. Getting an awesome new weapon for just pushing a button, surely this is too good to be true?
It is!
You’ve now got a virus, which means enemies will kill you in a single hit. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see a mildly alarming gas mask symbol with a number above it. That number represents how many enemies you have to kill to purge the virus and go back to being a robo-badass. How many enemies you have to kill will depend on how many times you’ve pushed that big button. The first time, it’ll cost you 10 enemies, but that number can go all the way up to 60 for a major challenge.
If you’re looking for an easier time in ROBOBEAT though, then you’re probably going to be more interested in our other new addition.
Cheats Menu Unlocked
Some tech savvy beatmasters have already found a way to access our cheats menu, but now we’ve made it easily accessible to all players!
To access the Cheats menu, all you need to do is input the Konami code (↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B A). This will give you access to a whole new world of possibilities, from equipping any weapon/utility that you want right through to spawning certain enemies and accessing special room types. Much like the virus room, however, this comes at a cost!
While the Cheats menu is activated, you cannot make any progress and you cannot save the game. Some cheats will spoil content for you if you haven’t completed the game and, when misused, they can also break the game, but restarting the game should resolve it.

You’ve experienced how awesome it is to be Ace, but haven’t you always dreamed of having a cute and cuddly version of your favorite robo-gunslinger to carry with you wherever you go?
Well now, that dream COULD become a reality!
In case you don't know, Ace is the character you play as in ROBOBEAT. He's the cyborg assassin who's been tasked with killing the chaotic robot showman Frazzer. Accompanied by his handy cassette player, he employs a variety of weird weapons (including a Ping Pong bat) and slays to the beat of his own drum.
We’ve collaborated with the incredible team at Makeship to set up a petition to have Ace plushies made.

How does the petition work and how can you get involved?
Makeship is a company that makes awesome plushies based on characters from independent creators, game developers, and creatives from all walks of life! They operate on a community funding model, which helps smaller creators and indie developers to make high quality plushies without taking huge risks.
The first step of the process for us is a petition, where we need ROBOBEAT players (and anyone else who wants an Ace plushie for whatever reason, we won’t judge) to pledge $2 towards the petition. If we can get 200 people to pledge $2 in 10 days, then our petition will be successful and we’ll move on to make the sample plushie for our Makeship campaign!
Please note that, if the petition is not successful, Makeship will refund you the $2 within 5-7 business days. If the petition is successful, however, then your $2 will go towards your Ace plushie and the rest of the cost will be taken automatically once the plushies are ready.

In ROBOBEAT, you’ll be taking on the role of Ace - a famous bounty hunter in hot pursuit of the eccentric robot-showman Frazzer. To find your way through his twisted techno-playground, you’ll have to master the art of shooting, wall-running, sliding, and bunny hopping!
As if that wasn’t difficult enough, you’ll need to hone your musical ear and shoot in sync with the beat of your chosen song to maximise your damage. Change between songs on the fly depending on your mood, unlock a variety of wild and wacky weapons, and encounter intense boss fights as you rush to take Frazzer down.
Players on console will have access to the 38 unlockable songs from the original soundtrack and the 3 extra special cassettes containing songs from the BPM: Bullets Per Minute, DUSK, and ULTRAKILL soundtracks.
To celebrate our big launch, we’re running a special giveaway to help our players take full advantage of our rump-rattling beats.
