We just released an update with several bug fixes and balancing changes. Here are the details:
Fixes
Fixed "Join by Game ID" that did not work for some server regions
Fixed Warbanner and Minions when starting a new run
(Co-op) Fixed host players who don't have any additional Zones unlocked sometimes load into the wrong Zone, even though the game should have already ended
(Co-op) Fixed camera hiccup in the platforming challenge room, when a player with one health left gets hit (made the challenge quite impossible)
Fixed missing translations
Balancing
Changed required drones to 3 to unlock the "Let them do the work" achievement
Improved readability of item text when playing local co-op
Additional Chnanges
Added a continue notification if you press "Start Game" and then "Offline Game" that asks the player if they want to start a new game, or continue the previously saved one

(Co-op) Fixed win streaks only increasing for a client player, if the client is currently on the same win streak
(Co-op) Fixed TNT not working
Fixed store not offering reduced cost after picking up the StoreSale item
Fixed the item from the Fortune Wheel sometimes dropping again afterwards
Fixed missing Fortune Wheel sound effects
Fixed player shots sometime getting invisible if they became too big
Fixed missing position indicator arrow with "Snag Mutated"
Added new particles to indicate the dragon boss' position in the lava
Fixed player taking damage if touching a wall with lava next to it
Fixed player model sometimes got off-centered after winning the game and restarting
Fixed an issue if the host player becomes inactive (not disconnected), a new host is automatically selected
Fixed item FriendlyFly, it now shoots triple shots at level 10 instead of two very weak shots
Fixed character Nibble no longer resets when dying with any other character
Fixed player getting stuck inside of level geometry
Balancing
Item UnrealStrike: increased travel speed and damage
Item DamageBoost: shots also pierce its target, duration increased from 6 to 10 seconds
Item WhimsicalStar: damage reduced by 20%
Item ItemReroll: reduced cooldown from 6 to 3 rooms
Character Baby: increased move speed from 18 to 19
Character Croc: increased damage and health
Character Quick: reduced max health from 5 to 4 and slightly reduced damage at Level 3
Character Bob: added SplashStomps at Level 3
Item Bomberman: changed cooldown from 4 kills to 5 seconds
Character Rarebyte: starts with the MinionCannon instead of the MinionPistol, this way chances are higher to get the synergy
Item MinionCannon: changed cooldown from 6 kills to 6 seconds
Item Minion Synergy: minions additionally fire at nearby enemies
Character Ryo: additional +1 bomb at level 3, +20% crit chance at level 3
Item FriendlyFly: damage at level 10 reduced from 25 to 20, it can no longer eat all 3 items in the choice/corrupt room

The new update is here - with lots of bugfixes, some small additions, and balancing changes.
Here are the detailed patch notes:
Additions
Massive performance improvements in later zones and/or when equipped with a lot of items
"Continue" in the main menu is now automatically selected when continuing is possible
(Co-op) Every player, instead of just the host player, increases their win streak, if they have Zone 6 unlocked locally
Added "Reset to default" option to the controls menu
Fixes
(Co-op) Fixed various problems that occurred when the host player switched in an online game (enemies did not die, or bosses spawned infinite Malbytes etc.)
(Co-op) Fixed players not being able to jump for 1-2 seconds after using the portal, or if another player took damage
(Co-op) Fixed broken Nibble character model for client players
Fixed overly bright glitch particles on Chests with the "Glitch Chests" item
Fixed duplicates of the "Retro Symbol" spawned, after using the Save & Quit feature
Fixed "Stake Launcher" projectiles sometimes becoming extremely big, covering most of the screen
Fixed Glitched Shopkeeper items still costing coins to pickup, when they should be free
Fixed heart pickups not being displayed in the pickup animation for a split second
Fixed leaving a room too quickly after opening a chest causing no item to spawn

Fixed achievements being unlockable in the tutorial

Fixed level portal spawning in very tight level geometry and causing players to not being able to enter/exit it
Fixed "Magic Stick" item transforming RetroSymbol enemies, therefore making it impossible to get the RetroSymbol item
Fixed custom seeds breaking the game
Fixed sacrificing an item that gives max health not removing the max health
Fixed getting multiple of the same rare item from the Item Transformator (only one rare per player should be possible here)
Fixed RetroBoy sometimes spawning more enemies from his projectiles, where they got stuck in level geometry or even outside of it
Fixed Malbytes from the RetroBoy sometimes spawning inside level geometry
Balancing
"Super Jump Boots" item needs to be re-charged now by touching the ground or a wall, before it can be used again
Buffed "Warbanner" item by increasing its range

Rogue Glitch Ultra is out now!
Hi everyone!
Today is the big day: Rogue Glitch Ultra has finally launched! :D
For new Rogue Glitch fans, that means you can expect roguelite precision platforming with 150+ weapons and items; 18 characters; secret bosses; and tons of secrets. You can either play solo or up to 4 player co-op (online or local)!
For existing Rogue Glitch fans, you can upgrade to the Ultra version can expect 31 new weapons and items; 5 new characters; 3 new secret bosses; an art style overhaul; myriad quality-of-life changes and bugfixes; numerous buffs, nerfs, and fixes for enemies, bosses, and items; and new rooms.
Fans that own the free base version of Rogue Glitch can of course keep playing it (though not with the new Ultra content without upgrading). Meanwhile, Rogue Glitch players that have already purchased the online multiplayer DLC will get the Ultra update for free!
This is the biggest update to the game yet, so we hope you enjoy the whole package! It was super fun to revisit Rogue Glitch and bring it to its ultimate form. We can’t wait for current fans and new players to dive into the chaos. :) Thanks for all the support you’ve given us on this journey, we wouldn’t have been able to do this without you.

Rogue Glitch is going into Ultra mode!
Hi all,
This is my first Steam news post for Rogue Glitch in a while – and it’s a big one! I wanted to let you know that Rogue Glitch is going into Ultra mode with a HUGE new update that is pretty much like a re-launch – that’s right, soon enough the game will be named Rogue Glitch Ultra!
I’m super excited for this update. 😄 We’ve been hard at work expanding the original game, and the biggest changes you can expect are a new visual look, 31 new items, 5 new characters, 3 new secret bosses, myriad quality-of-life changes and bug fixes, numerous buffs, nerfs, and fixes for enemies, bosses, and items, and new rooms!
Here is a trailer that shows some of the new content and the new style:
We’ll now have over 150 items that you can use to transform your playstyle, as well as 18 character variants, each with upgrading stats and skins.
Rogue Glitch Ultra will launch as a completely new game on Nintendo Switch November 14th 2023, and at the same time, the Ultra update will land on Steam too.
One other change we will make for the Steam version: we will switch from free-to-play to a classic premium game that includes all the new content and online multiplayer. For existing Rogue Glitch players and fans who have already got the online multiplayer DLC, the update will be completely free, and players of the free version will be able to purchase Rogue Glitch Ultra or keep playing the current free version that is already in their library. The main reason behind the change is that premium games are easier to manage for a small team (from a dev and business side) and I felt the whole package offers a very fair amount of content to make it a full premium indie game.
We wanted to release Rogue Glitch Ultra as a way of saying thank you for all the support and amazing feedback we’ve received from you. 😊 It’s been a challenging but fun road to make this game even bigger and better than before. The end is in sight, and it’s the best part simply because we get to share our work with all of you. Thank you for playing and leaving a review.
