Roving in the Dark is a cave exploration platformer set in 1996. You play as a bearded caver (known as "Local Spelunker") who is tasked with rescuing ill-equipped treasure-seekers while finding treasure, hidden there by a medieval thief, for the local museum. It's the Face POP update! What is the face pop update exactly? It's just an ADORABLE way for me to say I made the game slightly harder by adding a 5 round limit on faces in game. See below!
Balance
I Added a 5-round limit to faces. If you wear a face for more than 5 rounds in a row it blows up and you're back to having no face. This is to keep the gameplay balanced whether you find a "strong" face in an early round or late.
You have a couple second invincibility when you enter a room to keep you from getting hurt right when you walk in
Environment
I made the door to room13 much more defined and it displays how many keys you have found.
Bug Fixes
The red hall elecrticity Killtrap has been fixed so that now it alternates between the two sets of killtraps.
Minor graphic fixes
A few more minor bug fixes.

It's official! room13 is coming out of Early Access this Friday the 13th!
Update 11 - BOSS BATTLES!
Update 11
It's the BOSS BATTLES Update! But it's so much more! You can now change faces during gameplay. Between rounds, various face crates will appear, that if selected will change your face to the face inside. The only catch is you don't have a choice, once the box is opened your future fae is inside. On the bright side, you'll get full life and the more faces you switch to in game, random, at times nonsensical tidbits of the storylinw will told. This is also the last update before the full release (barring any gamebreaking bugs that need immediate attention) You can still pick your start face in this beta, but thats more for testing the faces. in the full version that won't be a part of the main game, but I might add it back in for some sort of Arcade Mode(?) Back to the BOSS BATTLES! You'll notice by every door there is now a light. When the light is lit, that room is where a boss will be active in the next round. This let's you run away from, or chase boss battles. If you stay in the same room there is also a 1 in 12 chance that your current room will be the next boss battle, you just won't know it until it starts :)

Created a "ramp up"in the zombie activity in the early rounds
Adjusted the life amount of the faces to remove some advantages of faces that made the game too easy
The Magnetized face now has a timer
Lights out rounds are spaced out and a random occurances

Opened up room 3 a bit more to allow for better flow

Flamethrower Killtraps now work
Objects that previously didn't now pause when paused
Player character can't fall trhough floor now

Gameplay
Each level of Necromonads consists of a number of Colonists and Infection shelters that the colonists try to run to. The Necromonads will attempt to capture and infect the fleeing colonists. To accomplish this they upduct them as the flee and bring them to the top of the screen. Once to the top of the screen the colonist becomes infected and dropped back down them.
Once infected they spit virus bile to nearby colonists causing the infection to spread. Your job as Star Pilot is to stop the Necros long enough for the colonists to get to the shelters, Moving to the next level occurs when all colonists are accounted for and more then 50% of the remaining colonists are safe in the shelter. The Necros will send various different forms after you to stop you as you progress.
