Hotfix - 19 octobre 2022
BUGS FIXED
The epidemic event on turn 81 of the cattle scenario can now be accepted.
The amount of winter barley requested in the cattle scenario tutorial has been corrected.
The duration and amount of loans are now correctly saved.
The duration before the harvest of lavandin is changed from 9 months to 4 months.
The tooltip is now displayed when there is only one possible technique.
The Sami character's bonus is now applied correctly.
The price of the cattle truck has been reduced from 120 000€ to 15 000€.
The insurance bonus of the character Antoine was applied to other games after starting a game with Antoine, this has been corrected.
The objective of the strategic choice "Soil Conservation" in the cattle scenario has been changed from 3/5 to 2.5/5.

Scenario 4 Normandy's live, you can now manage a dairy farm in Normandy.
The game is released on mobile on both iOS and Android.
BUGS FIX
The displayed workload was not always correct. The calculation has been reworked to show the correct workload.
In winter, the leaves on the trees disappear as expected.
Harvesting a field sown with multi-species is now possible.
The possibility of doing two searches at the same time is correctly saved.
The price of cash and the estimated price of hedges, are now correct.

Now each event is illustrated with a picture.
Now animals can move. For now, this feature is only present for scenario 4.

Patchnotes 3rd of August
Dear Farmers of Tomorrow,
We hope that you are all doing ok in this heat (lucky you if you live in the southern hemisphere!). Here are the details of today’s update :
BUG FIX
Fixed translation issues in the tutorial dialogue of the pig farming region. We are sorry that this change took so long, we will do our best to fix other localisation issues as they come.
Due to performance issues, we have lowered the number of fields in the pig farming region. From now on, all new games will start with 10 fields, existing saves will keep their 41 fields until the end of the game. We have implemented a pop-up in game to inform you of this change.
Because there are now fewer fields in the pig farming region, we have adjusted the size of the fields : overall they will have more hectares.
Implemented a new save system that is more stable overall
Fixed the issue where after purchasing a DLC, loading a save would cause problems. However, please keep in mind that DLCs do not activate in saves previous to their purchase.
Fixed the issue where the “Covers” action would be required again aver loading a save
Fixed the issue where the “Feed” action in the permanent pastures of the cattle farming region didn’t require a precision spreader
Replaced “units” by “kg” in the confirmation window for buying and selling in the marketplace
Fixed the issue where training an employee while having negative cashflow would give money.
Fixed the issue where upgrades that led to lower work time on certain actions were not registered in saves.
STRATEGIC CHOICES MAJOR BUG FIX
Generally speaking, there were many problems with strategic choices as to the fulfillment of their objectives. Here is a list of all the issues we have fixed :
Pig Farming Region
Increase in UAA (1) : the objective of possessing 60 ha of agricultural land was always fulfilled, no matter the actual amount of agricultural land possessed.
Improve feed independence : the objective of possessing 70 ha of agricultural land was always fulfilled, no matter the actual amount of agricultural land possessed.
Soil conservation : the in-game objective was to have a score of at least 3/5 in soil management. However, it was too high compared to what the Game Designers had planned. The minimum score is now set at 2.5/5
Increase in UAA (2) : the objective of possessing 70 ha of agricultural land was always fulfilled, no matter the actual amount of agricultural land possessed.
Organic crops : The following perk : “The price of your harvested crops is now 15% higher” now works as intended
Purple label : The following perk : “The price of your slaughter pigs is now 0,15 € higher for each kg” now works as intended
Organic Pigs : The following perk : “The price of your slaughter pigs is now 1,40 € higher for each kg” now works as intended
Physical Direct Sales : the objective of 15 000 € in sales now works as intended
Tourism on the farm : The following perk "Tourism revenue is increased by 1000 euros per month" now works as intended
Sheep Farming Region
Improve feed independence : the objective of possessing 50 ha of agricultural land was always fulfilled, no matter the actual amount of agricultural land possessed.
Income diversification : The objective of selling 10 000 € of crops in the allocated time now works as intended

Although this number may seem insignificant compared to other games, it's a great milestone for us, a small indie studio that never published anything on Steam before.

Deactivated cursor during cinematic cutscenes
Fixed the text displayed on the “Low Carbon” strategic choice in the Cattle Farming Region. The goal set by the strategic choice is now to build at least one solar panel

We prepared a few DLCs to go with this release.
A Beekeeping DLC, which will allow you to install beehives on all farms, produce/sell honey and preserve biodiversity.
An additional characters DLC, which offers 4 additional characters with unique perks.
A season pass, which offers the two previous DLCs an upcoming expansion : Urban Agriculture
This expansion will be set in the outskirts of a city, where you will be able to grow a variety of produce (vegetables, fruits, edible flowers and salads) on buildings, parks, and green spaces.

Because Roots of Tomorrow is a game about agroecology, it was important to us to support the preservation of biodiversity.
This is why part of the income generated by the sales these DLCs will be donated to the non profit “Un toit pour les abeilles” (“A roof for bees”)
“Un Toit Pour Les Abeilles” is a network of nearly a hundred beekeepers who campaign for artisanal, local and bee-friendly beekeeping. For more than 10 years, the beekeepers of the network have been committed to safeguarding the bee, in particular through the sponsorship of beehives.
We are currently working on the next FREE EXPANSION of the game. This new farm will be set in the Normandy region of France. This whole expansion will be centered around dairy farming. Here’s a sneak peak of the farm (WIP of course)

The long wait is soon over !
It is with great pleasure that we announce Roots of Tomorrow will finally be playable in English on May 11th. This date will also mark the end of its Early Access phase. We would like all of you for being patient and understanding!
Our developers have been constantly improving the game over the past few months. The next update on May 11th will bring even more bug fixes and new features!
What's next ?
Even after Early Access ends, we will continue to improve and expand the game with your suggestions and feedback.
