Game expansion : Cattle Farming

Dear Farmers of Tomorrow,

Although the English version of the game is not live yet, we want to keep you updated on the development of the game. Here is what you can expect from the cattle farming expansion. English Localisation will be ready in March/April.



IMPORTANT



This update will render past saves obsolete. Playing on an old save after this update may cause significant gameplay issues. We highly recommend that you start a new save after this update.

New Scenario: Grand Est region, cattle breeding and cereals




  • New tutorial: Learn the secrets of cattle breeding!
  • New Buildings: Stable, Permanent Meadows
  • New actions: Sale weanlings, heifers
  • New financial products available: Retirement Savings, Direct Sales Pack and Management Booklet - unique to this scenario
  • Research and strategic choices adapted to cattle breeding: Food autonomy, Stable layout, Genetic selection
  • New Related Events: Escaped Cows



Bug fixes




  • The borrow button should no longer appear when you sell an item from the market menu
  • The endgame cinematic should play properly based on your score
  • Adjusted building placements in the sheep scenario
  • The Next Round button should no longer appear as a white square
  • Slurry now appears normally in the list of items for sale
  • In the sheep scenario, grappling action now increases the personal load
  • In the sheep scenario, the action name panel “individual runs” will no longer cover the run action button.
  • Updated sheep scenario events, they now match with the sheep scenario and not the pig scenario.
  • Fixed text in sheep scenario, wrong price/week and mention of pork when it is the wrong scenario.
  • In the sheep scenario, a dialogue with a character allows you to launch two searches at once. A bug was preventing this, it is now fixed
  • Text overflow is fixed on the UI
  • UI bug fix + added png icons in title blocks
  • Display of the working time modified according to the number of employees and their skills in the action window
  • Loading a save after building a shop no longer breaks the game.

An announcement to our English players

This was meant to be an announcement for the first Tournament of Roots of Tomorrow.
Unfortunately, the game is still only available in French, as such we are very sorry to say that English Speakers will not be able to participate in this event.

However, we will organize even bigger tournaments after the English release of the game, which coming in February/March this year. Everyone will be able to participate in those tournaments.

We are very sorry as for the delay on the English Version. We are trying to juggle multiple agreements with French partners and this tournament was agreed upon a long time ago.

It is definitely not our intent to exclude anybody. We want to bring our game to as many people as possible. However, due to unforeseen delays and adjustments, we were not able to bring you an English version as soon as we wanted.

Again, we apologize and understand your frustration.
We are trying our best to make this game the best it can be.

Dear Farmers of Tomorrow,

First of all, Happy New Year! Best wishes for this year 2022. We hope it will be filled with opportunities for you :). Unfortunately, the English version is not available but is getting closer and closer !

This week, we focused on improving the sheep farming scenario in the South Region: Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur. We have also added new features that should improve your gaming experience! Lots of bugs fixed too, thanks to our players on our Discord who helped us spot them!

IMPORTANT



We strongly advise you to start a new game after this update as it is unfortunately not retroactive. Thus, loading old saves may cause significant gameplay problems.

Improvement of the sheep farming region




  • Dialogues: dialogues with NPCs have been added
  • Tutorial: the tutorial for sheep breeding has been added
  • Addition of the mountain pasture
  • Addition of Orchard


New features




  • Options: it is now possible to modify the graphic resolutions as well as the sound volume
  • Finance: possibility of establishing the rate of repayment and the time before starting the repayment of a loan.
  • Main character: the list of his skills as well as his overall level have been reworked
    Each icon indicates a skill, as well as the character's level and experience in that skill. When you click on a tile, a training pop-in opens allowing you to improve this skill.
  • The seed calendar: in the purchase menu, it is now possible to see the sowing and harvesting periods for each seed.


Rebalancing indicators




  • The Renew action of the pig building lowered the “Energy Consumption” indicator a little too much (0.05 each time). The indicator is now down 0.02 points.
  • The "Sowing with ploughing" technique of the Sow action lowered the "Soil management" and "Preservation of biodiversity" indicators too much, these indicators will now be lowered by 0.005
  • The “Synthetic Fertilizer” technique of the Feed action lowered the “Soil Management” and “Preservation of Biodiversity” indicators too much, these indicators will now be lowered by 0.005
  • The “Enhanced Protection” technique of the Protect action lowered the “Soil Management” and “Preservation of Biodiversity” indicators too much, these indicators will now be lowered by 0.005
  • The external renewal technique of the Renew action of the pig house lowered the “Energy consumption” indicator too much. this indicator will now be lowered by 0.015
  • All solar panels in the maternity ward go from €15,000 to €50,000 (same for the Heritage indicator). All the solar panels in the pig building go from €37,500 to €80,000 (same for the Heritage indicator). The prices were too low.



Bug fixes




  • Loading a save no longer resets scores and insurance
  • Pig building renew action no longer crashes the game
  • The house administrative action no longer blocks the game
  • Market: the page opens when there is no more seed
  • The camera no longer moves by itself when closing the purchase popup
  • An emplyee who ends his/her contract returns to the list of characters to recruit

Game expansion : Sheep Farming in the southern Region of France

Dear Farmers of Tomorrow,

Although the English version of the game is not live yet, we want to keep you updated on the development of the game. Which is why this week, we are pleased to unveil our first game expansion! It is none other than our sheep farming scenario set in the Southern Region of France : Provence-Alpes-Côte-d´Azur! New buildings, new actions, many surprises await!

This update will render past saves obsolete. Playing on an old save after this update may cause significant gameplay issues. We highly recommend that you start a new save after this update.

New actions and buildings related to sheep farming:




  • Sheepfold: this is the main building where you will take care of your sheep (lambing, feeding, shearing, selling etc.). Unlock more actions by upgrading it!
  • Individual routes: herds not only graze on meadows but also on “individual routes”. An improvement is possible to enlarge your routes.
  • Bed and breakfast: create a space to welcome tourists and diversify your activities!


New random events to spice up your gaming experience:




  • Predation: Be careful, this does not happen often, but your sheep may be vulnerable to this kind of situation. Keep a lookout!


New strategic choices




  • Organic lamb: Add value to your herd by transitioning to a better environmental model. The selling price of your lamb will increase.
  • Cultivating Lavender
  • GPS collars to easily find the herd and improve working conditions (saving time). It only takes 3 or 4 to follow the whole herd out in the pastures and mountains.
  • Biosecurity: Used to strengthen certain prevention techniques (quarantine, vaccination, traceability) for the care of the herd.
  • Energy autonomy: Produce your own energy to gain autonomy and save money in the long term.
  • Internet presence: Having a good presence on the Internet (site, social networks) allows you to give more visibility to your activities.
  • Ventilation: A static ventilation system, adapted to your sheepfold, improves the performance and health of your herd.
  • Barn ventilation: add an extension to your barn with an improved barn ventilation system, and a mechanical arm. This improves working conditions and also results in better quality hay.
  • Wwoofing (World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms): Wwoofers are tourists that you welcome free of charge in exchange for services in the sheepfold. It won’t help you cut down on work time, but it will help raise awareness around your activity.



Research




  • Associative wrapping: Allows to donate part of the purchase price of plastic wrapping (for hay bales) to a non-profit. Passer-bys are intrigued by these different colored bales of hay and inquire about this non-profit.


Graphical updates




  • Button design, renewed loading screen, interface windows have been redesigned.


Minor bug Corrections




  • Main characters salary isn’t locked at 2€ anymore
  • Score indicators have been balanced
  • Text corrections for the Protect action
  • Strategic choices
  • Fixed slowdowns when passing a turn after some time of gameplay
  • Scores are now correctly saved to find them back when loading a game
  • You can’t assign work to a character once they have passed 160% of wokload
  • The best selling contract is now selected by default when selling
