We are here to inform you that Run Of Mydan will be released as "free to play" from April 1st. No, that’s no joke.
We took this hard decision because we can no longer support and expand the game as we envisioned when we started. This doesn’t mean no more updates or fixes, but those will happen “if and when it happens”. We just think this is the only respectful solution for both you players and us developers.
Thanks for your support in all these years...and see you soon! :)
Easter Egg Hunt

Run Of Mydan is all about exploration and discovery. Now there's a little easter egg hidden in the game, so... did you find any eerie presence lurking somewhere and worshipping... something?
Prove it!
Take one or more Screenshots of the spooky presence along with the object of worship above it and go publish them in the Community Hub! You must guess its correct name too!
The first to accomplish the task will have a new enemy class named after his/her nickname (or slightly modified in a Mydan-esque way where needed!)
As a bonus you will get 1 free Run Of Mydan game key to enjoy some co-op or vs. action with a friend!
...And if you publish the screenshot(s) on Instagram or Facebook and mention both @virtew and @runofmydan you will get 3 free Mydan keys instead!
We're proud to announce that Edylin, the first of the 4 main levels that define the world of Ayren in which the adventure of Mydan takes place... is now (almost) completed! ːsteamhappyː
There are still some tweaks to be done here and there, but we can say it's shaping up nicely!
A lot of content has been added like:
a brand-new stage with thrilling underwater action
new dangerous enemies
story hints that give you the first peek into Mydan's lore
Of course we also fixed some minor bugs and at least a nasty one that prevented the game from running properly on Oculus Rift.

New Beta
Hi there! A new beta is ready for those who love extreme feelings!
Seriously, in the new beta branch you can find a (temporary) fix for the nasty black screen issue in Campaign mode on Oculus Rift... as well as a brand new level! Have fun testing! :)

We've been working very hard on making this huge communuty-feedback-driven update!
With this update we completely replaced the on-rails story mode. The story mode is now based on free-flight gameplay and it is playable in co-op with up to 2 players!
As of now there are 3 levels and we're planning on having 20 of them :)
Collectibles, unlockables and storytelling still need to be added, but they are coming very soon!
It has been a LOT of work, and we're aware that there might be big bugs, so we'll be all ears and eager to receive your feedback!
There are also countless other small fixes and updates, here is a list of the most important ones:
- overhauled Pelis Textures and shaders
- polished Kator waterfalls
- fixed a bunch of IK glitches
- removed initial "join online players or stay offline" menu
- replaced all enemy scripts with new, multiplayer-ready functionality
- rewrote all the AI
- added a dedicated tutorial level

We added snap-turning for the oculus!
People that play with a 180 setup can now enjoy Run Of Mydan's 360 experience by snap turning right or left with the stick!
We really hope this can bring many people that wanted the game but were waiting for this feature to join our community :)
Hotfix and updates
Another update for Run Of Mydan!
Here is a list of the major fixes:
- Not yet 100% tested freeze fix
- fixed bloom post-process that had disappeared
- downpowered orbs, which now act more like grenades and explode in proximity if 1 second has passed. Timeout explosion at 2 seconds after throw.
- increased spear throw angular velocity tolerance
- preview update for Pelis: still a prototype but a slightly improved visuals
- leaderboard with player rating based on ratio, number of kills and matches won
- fixed hitboxes which are now 4 boxes attached to the avatar: head, torso, left thigh and right thigh
- arm Ik fix when hands are behind body
A known Issue and a little dev update!
There have been numerous reports regarding technical issues where the game completely freezes. We've found out that it's related to the Unreal Engine 4.17 and we're doing our best in trying to work around this problem.
So along with our apologies we also wanted to communicate that this problem is unfortunately at a lower level and is affecting many games based on Unreal Engine's latest version... If we cannot find a solution we'll fallback on earlier versions.
Besides bad and stressful news, we also wanted to announce that we'll soon be releasing an updated (yet still unfinished) version of Pelis (the prototype map :D). Here are some update pics:
