This Week In RuneScape: Vic The Trader & Double XP: LIVE Continues!
We’re in the final stretch of Double XP Live, and there’s a wicked new bundle to make the most of the time you've got left! We’ve also made some changes to the Duel Arena, and Vic The Trader is back. Let’s dive in.
Double XP LIVE ends soon! You have until midday (game time) next Monday November 15th to take advantage of 48 hours of Double XP. Remember, you can spend your hours whenever you want throughout the event. It’s the best way to level up your skills fast – especially if you want to take on skill-restricted adventures like Elder God Wars.
Want to amp up your XP even further? You’ll need the new DXP Care Package, available from November 8th to November 30th.
For just 1 Bond you’ll get:
15 Advanced Pulse Cores
15 Cinder Cores
4 Large Skilling Training Dummy Crates
5 Medium Protean Packs
5 Medium Portable Packs
12 Protean Powerups
1 Large Dwarven Toolbox
5 Combat Dummies
3 Aura Refreshes
Please note: each player may purchase a maximum of five DXP Care Packages (and this offer is not available for Ironman players).
Vic The Trader has returned! From November 8th to November 22nd, visit Vic’s Store south of Burthorpe Bank and swap your way to the top!
You can trade your bonus XP for XP Lamps, Skilling Outfits and other goodies. Be sure to pay him a visit!
Last month we announced additional action to prevent Real World Trading (RWT) in RuneScape. Of all the player bans dished out for RWT, the Duel Arena is the source of a whopping 38% of them.
As of today, no more than 50m in value can be staked per fight at the Duel Arena. This is a short term change, but we have long term plans to replace the Arena altogether. These are well underway and on track for early 2022!
Players may now only stake a maximum of 50 million coins per player, per fight at the Duel Arena.
Players can no longer stake items within the Conquest minigame.
Implemented some feedback to remove the junk chance on the Igneous stone. This is now set to 0%.
Balancing adjustments have been made to the Croesus Front skilling nodes.
Nodes outside of the boss encounter exhaust at a reduced rate.
Enriched nodes now remain active for 90 seconds.
The Pernix Quiver can now be dyed. The following colours are available:
Red
Blue
Yellow
Green
Purple
Orange
Black
Fixes
Igneous capes can now be used to fight against Ice Strykeworms.
Fixed an issue which caused back button & ESC key functionality to not work after closing a parent interface.
Fixed an issue which caused the ESC key & back button (on mobile) to no longer close parent interfaces.
The 'Astronomical!' achievement incorrectly required a crafting level rather than a runecrafting level. This has now been corrected.
You can now smith upgraded items with the base item in your inventory when your inventory is full.
Destroying 'Lost her Marbles' Flame Fragments directly from the bank now correctly updates which ones have been obtained, allowing the miniquest to be completed if you had previously done this.
Fixed an issue that caused Treasure Hunter to reopen if you selected the oddments store button whilst having a bank pin set.
Updated the layout of the checkboxes found within the pets interface in order to make it more user-friendly.
Using an augmentor dissolver on a dyed Dark Sliver of Leng will no longer remove the dye.
Korasi's special attack will now correctly scale to the player's melee accuracy rather than magic accuracy.
Other
Fixes
Added a login check to convert any old raffle tickets into Lucky Dip tickets.
Players can now preview bond packages on the Marketplace if they don't have any bonds.
Fixed the presentation of the Treasure Hunter banner image on the mobile home screen. The banner was a few pixels off in positioning.
The wave counter is no longer located in the middle of the screen on mobile.
Fixed a presentation issue on mobile which caused visual inconsistencies with the login 'Play' button.
The 'World' select list no longer resets position after dismissing the confirmation box via 'No'.
Updated the world select screen to no longer close after selecting 'No' on the confirmation screen.
Issue where the Boss HP UI element blocks a large portion of the screen has been fixed.
Added a background blur during character customization (head and beard choices).
Updated the menu button style/presentation and font on the login screen, home screen and lobby on mobile.
Updated the wording of mobile lobby prompts when being pushed into the game. This was to improve language consistency in-game.
Text and buttons have been updated.
This can be seen from any of the '+' buttons on the mobile header bar.
Updated the game launch messaging from the lobby to show the world number when pressed.
The component previously showed "LOGGING IN" and now shows "JOINING WORLD X".

Elder God Wars has released a whole bunch of chase items, however, we're seeing prices sky-high as demand increases, but low drop rates are failing to meet this demand, resulting in an unpleasurable experience for both buyers and boss killers.
Drop rates for the following items from the Elder God Wars dungeon have been dramatically increased:
Magma Tempest Codex: drop rate has been increased by 100% in both normal and hard mode
Scripture of Ful: drop rate has been increased by 100% in both normal and hard mode
Pieces of the Fractured Staff of Armadyl: drop rate has been increased by 66%
Pieces of the Ek-ZekKil sword: drop rate has been increased by 66%

TzekHaar Front
Fixes

The Sprout From Death effect now has a chance to trigger.
Fixed an issue with the Igneous Capes that prevented them being stored in the Keepsake Box.

Omnipower damage now matches the written tooltip.
Additional hits from Wild Magic and Omnipower abilities now hit nearby targets when combined with the Greater Chain ability.

Having the ring upgraded with a faction no longer decreases the amount of anima gained from bosses.
Increased the amount of anima the player gains from killing creatures within Senntisten.
Having the ring upgraded will now continue to drop anima at a 100% drop rate rather than the previous 1/6 chance.
A missing hiding spot in the "Fortunes" miniquest has been re-added allowing the miniquest to be completed.

Updated missing or misnamed items in the Player Log:
Scripture of Jas has been added to Player Log.

This Week In RuneScape: Halloween 2021
Things are getting ghoulish in Gielinor this week with the start of our hair-raising Halloween event! Keep reading to learn more about that - plus, find out how you can get a first look at the fourth front of the Elder God Wars Dungeon!
Awooo! It's Halloween in Gielinor, and, as per usual, there's some spooky goings-on at Draynor Manor. A small group of werewolves from across the Salve have temporarily settled in the Manor grounds - causing quite a stir with their new neighbours!
They don't mean any harm, though. In fact, they've set up a range of Halloween-y activities, with frighteningly fun rewards on offer for those brave enough to try them.
Activities
This year we're building on the event format introduced in 2020, and bringing back three activities from last year's event:
Death's Dogwalker
Fragmented Souls
Plague Soup
Each activity has an associated miniquest. If you already played the required miniquest last year, there's no need to play it again - the activity you're after will be auto-unlocked.
We're also introducing two new activities:
Shooting Gallery
Ed the werewolf is having trouble with some crafty crassians, and he needs your help to man the cannons and send them scuttling back to Davy Jones' locker! You'll put your Hunter and Fishing skills to the test in this fast-paced fish-fest.
This activity replaces Potato Gathering from the 2020 event.
Skeleton Invasion
It seems the werewolves' presence has disturbed the residents of Draynor - including the ones who were already dead! In this minigame you'll fight off waves of skeletons with the help of Greg and the (living) Draynor villagers. Flex your Magic and Slayer skills and you'll be well on your way to shattering some skulls!
Free-to-play players should bear in mind that although they'll be able to access all the activities, they may not be able to use the skills required.
Spooky Hour
If you've completed all the Halloween miniquests then you'll get 12% more XP during Spooky Hour, which occurs every three hours. Don't miss it!
Rewards
If you participated in last years event - by which we mean, you completed one or more of the event miniquests - you'll be able to grab a Silver Death's Scythe for free from the event store. If not, don't panic - you can earn Spooky Tokens from all the activities on offer, and then exchange them for a variety of cursed cosmetics in Death's Spooky Store. You'll be able to get your hands on all of last year's rewards, plus two new ones! We've also brought back a few legacy cosmetics.
Or, if you like a little bit of mystery in your life, you can exchange your Tokens for Mystery Boxes. What's inside? We don't know! That's why it's a mystery!
If you've spoken to Death at least once, then you can get a daily reward for every day of the event.
Lastly, there's a new music track to unlock, so you can Monster Mash in style.
Ironman players should be aware that while they are able to participate in the event and purchase Mystery Boxes, they will receive different items to regular players.
The event ends on November 1st, so trot on down to Draynor Manor and speak to Luna to get started... if you dare!
With September behind us it's time to reveal the winners of Leonard's Lucky Dip!

[th]Position[/th][th]Player Name[/th][th]Prize Title[/th]

1st PlaceThepricy1(name), First of the Lucky Five

2nd PlaceSmilin Ninja(name), Second of the Lucky Five

3rd PlacePr0tocal(name), Third of the Lucky Five

4th PlaceZumey(name), Fourth of the Lucky Five

5th PlaceSad Onii-san(name), Fifth of the Lucky Five

Congratulations lucky winners! Your titles will be added to your account shortly.
Join us tomorrow, October 19th, for the reveal of the fourth and final front of the Elder God Wars Dungeon!
All will be revealed on our official Twitch channel at 16:00 Game Time - along with specially-commissioned reveal art by the fantastically talented Enkoro!
Double XP LIVE will return from midday November 5th to midday November 15th! That's a date to remember, for sure.
As a quick reminder, Double XP LIVE is a 10-day event during which you'll have 48 hours of Double XP time to spend on whatever skills you wish - and if you need a break, you can use the pause timer to kick back and relax in-game.
Both free-to-play players and members will have access to the event and can claim the daily rewards, but non-members will only receive 20% extra XP. Ironman players do not benefit at all.
So, get that in your calendar, and start planning! Which skill will you train first?
Elder God Wars Dungeon

This Week In RuneScape: Patch Week
It's all quiet in RuneScape today, as the J-Mods have knuckled down for a Patch Week. We've got over 70 bug fixes, changes, and improvements for you today, and we've got an important update about RuneScape: The First 20 Years. Let's get on with it!
Hey, fancy a sneak peek at RuneScape: The First 20 Years? Check out our RuneScape: The First 20 Years newspost (which will be updated soon with the latest news and images).
We've got a quick update regarding publication dates:
The global publication date of the main (red cover) retail edition is being moved from mid-October to November 9th in the US and November 11th in the UK. Our publisher, Dark Horse, has hit major shipping delays - a knock on effect of the general global shipping issues we've all experienced over the last year.
A shipment destined for comic stores in the US, however, has already arrived - so US-based 'scapers can grab a copy from their local indie comic book hero on the slightly earlier date of October 20th.
Deluxe and main edition copies purchased from the Official Merch Store have been unloaded from the boat in the UK and are waiting to land in the US. If all goes well with docking, getting through customs and finding HGV drivers, we expect pre-orders to start leaving UK and US warehouses on October 19th.
If you live outside the US and have not yet ordered your copy, all good book stores should now be taking pre-orders of the main edition for the new November publication date.
And don't forget, you can find more awesome RuneScape goodies on the Official Merch Store!
World Mental Health Day
Have you checked out The Well-being Bundle? It's chock full of useful stuff, costs just 1 Bond, and is all in aid of our amazing charity partners.
World Mental Health Day may have already passed, but the bundle will be available until October 24th - so don't miss out!
Here's what's inside:
1 Stone of Meditation (with two charges)
15 Pulse Cores
15 Cinder Cores
5 Medium Protean Packs
10 Protean Powerups
10 Combat Dummies
3 Large Skill Dummy Crates
1 Deathtouched Dart
Please note that Ironman accounts will not be able to purchase The Well-being Bundle.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
We've teamed up with Xbox Game Pass to get you an awesome Skilling & Currency Pack to help you kickstart your adventure.
You have until November 28th to claim this offer, and December 28th to redeem it in game - so don't delay, check it out today!
After some technical issues, the next set of Prime Gaming rewards are here. You have until October 19th to claim the coveted, XP-boosting Prime Aura and a Currency Pack containing 400 RuneCoins and 20 Treasure Hunter Keys.
Claiming your rewards is super-easy - just link your RuneScape and Prime Gaming accounts, and follow the instructions on this page.
Ironman accounts will not be able to claim either reward.
The Croesus Front
Improvements
Updated the requirements to enter War's Retreat:
Players with level 60 combat or higher will be able to enter as standard.
Players with a total skill level of 1,000 or more will now also be able to enter.
Players need only meet one of the above requirements, not both.
Players now have a greater chance to receive Elite Clues using the Scripture of Bik. The chances of receiving Easy, Medium and Hard Clues have been lowered accordingly.
Fixes
Sign of the Porter now places items collected from Hunter nodes into the player's Bank if their Backpack is full.
Potions added with The Croesus Front can now be decanted by the appropriate NPCs.
The Glacor Front
Improvements
Various changes have been made to the Arch-Glacor's minions:
The minions' health now scales based on the number of mechanics enabled.
Improved visibility on minion type by adding their combat style to their names.
Changed spawn position of minions so they no longer obscure the boss.
Added a very minor delay to the activation of the shield when minions spawn.
The shield no longer provides full immunity to the boss but reduces all damage to 2%. This is to mitigate situations where the minions spawn with the boss on extremely low life - FINISH HIM!
The Unstable Core (which is non-interactable) has been moved to a low priority level so as not to interfere with the minions' click areas.
The following places now contain the new Glacor model:
Slayer Skill Guide
Player-owned House Pet House
Player-owned Dungeon Slayer Codex
Examining Gladys will now show you the highest enraged kill you have completed.
Fixes
Improved the volume of the combat sound effects during the Arch-Glacor encounter.
Updated the examine text of Glacors on The Glacor Front.
'Tsunami' can now be used on the Arch-Glacor's arms.
The Arch-Glacor's enrage percentage will now be displayed correctly.
The Nodon Front
Fixes
Rejoining an instance after changing difficulty will now send the player to the correct mode.
Closing an interface with the escape key will no longer trigger the battlefield ability.
Fixed an issue with the hitbox of Kerapac's Lightning Strike attack.
Mobile
Improvements
The Wilderness Level Indicator has been repositioned to the right of the chatbox for better visibility.
Fixes
Resolved an issue where a red square was present on the Bank interface banner on mobile devices that have a tall aspect ratio.
The '+' icon is no longer partially cropped on the mobile lobby.
The Bonds icon is no longer partially cropped on the mobile lobby.
The prize information interface is now positioned correctly.
Closing the Bag of Materials interface no longer shows the Achievements interface.
Dropdowns are no longer out of line with other buttons on devices with a left-hand safe area.
Numeric text is now correctly positioned in the mobile lobby.

This Week In RuneScape: Ninja Strike 27 - Autumn Strike
Ah yes, the magic of autumn. Crisp crunchy leaves underfoot, frogs croaking in the cranberry bogs, shuriken whistling through the air... Hold on a minute! It looks like the Ninjas are conducting a seasonal Scattershot Strike!
But that's not all you have to look forward to - it's also World Mental Health Day and we've teamed up with our charity partner Blueprint For All to bring you the Well-being Bundle, a goodie-bag filled with useful stuff. Plus, we have an update on this month's Prime Gaming rewards. Read on to learn more!
The Ninja Team are back with a seasonal scattershot strike, and they're bringing a veritable cornucopia of QoL improvements to the game.
Of special note is a new button on the Bank interface which lets you toggle whether or not the Bank automatically switches tabs when depositing items. In addition, clickboxes throughout the Anachronia Agility Course have been fine-tuned to make life easier, and items in the Loot window can now be examined, showing their examine text and GE (or high-alchemy) values where applicable.
For full details, shimmy over to the Patch Notes tab!
World Mental Health Day is on October 10th, and we're celebrating with a big box of goodies! The Well-being Bundle can be purchased from the Marketplace's Bonds Tab for 1 Bond, and will net you a boatload of useful buffs and boosts.
Here's the best part: the proceeds will go directly to our partner charities: Blueprint For All, Rise Above the Disorder and Mind CPSL. You can learn all about them on the Jagex Charitable Giving Page, but rest assured, they're all fantastic causes.
After purchasing the bundle, you'll receive a Stone of Meditation with two charges. You might remember this item from Mental Health Awareness Week earlier this year - activating the Stone will give you a 4% XP buff, and surrounding players a 2% XP buff, for one hour. You can gain two charges each day just by logging in, and you can store up to five charges at one time.
From November 15th, 2021, the Stone of Meditation will be converted into 2,500 Oddments on log-in.
The bundle is also jam-packed with helpful items. Here's the full list:
1 Stone of Meditation (with two charges)
15 Pulse Cores
15 Cinder Cores
5 Medium Protean Packs
10 Protean Powerups
10 Combat Dummies
3 Large Skill Dummy Crates

Items in the Loot window can now be examined to view their examine text plus the Grand Exchange or High Alchemy values, where applicable.
Master Capes can now be purchased from Elen in the Max Guild's tower.
Master Firemaking, Fletching, Thieving, Ranged, RuneCrafting and Magic Capes can also now be bought from their respective Skill Masters' stores.
Added a 'Consume all' option to Wicked Hood Teleport Tokens.
The names of RuneCrafting altars and mysterious ruins now reflect their associated Runes.
Extra Fine Sand can now be blessed at more Saradomin-aligned altars, including:
Entrana
Citharede Abbey
Everlight statues
Saradominist Player Owned House chapels
In addition, you may now simply left-click or tap the sand while next to one of the above altars to bless it, instead of manually using the sand on the altar.
It's now possible to click through the excess border portion of some option interfaces, such as those that offer teleports.
Interacting with any of the skill check barriers to the inner circle of the Abyss will now play a shorter animation.
Players can no longer fail obstacles in the Abyss. Instead, there's now a hard level 30 requirement in the respective skills to cross the obstacles.
Adjusted some outdated messaging regarding the obstacles.
Falador Shields now have a 'Check charges' option.
An info-box now appears when checking charges.
Renamed the 'Prayer-restore' option to 'Restore Prayer'.

The player is now able to use Bladed Dive while equipping Tavia's Fishing Rod.
Reduced the number of players who are able to join a public Croesus encounter to 18.

Fixes
Fixed an issue that was preventing players from cooking the new Fungal Soups.
Fixed an issue where dyed variants of the Grasping Runepouch were not triggering the special effect.
Removed duplicates of the new fungus and fungus materials from the Grand Exchange.
Fungal Soups are now both tradeable and available on the Grand Exchange.
Cinderbane Gloves and other poisons no longer work on Croesus. This was an unintended effect.
Added Croesus to the Final Boss and Insane Final Boss achievements.
Fixed an issue that caused the Leviathan nodes to disappear, preventing players from completing a public Croesus encounter.
Players no longer get stuck inside of Croesus when it's vulnerability timer ends.
The Skill Guide now shows the correct name and icon for the Grasping Rune Pouch.
Fixed an issue that prevented drops from Croesus appearing on the Adventurer's Log.
Waterfiend no longer duplicates encounter resources.

Fixes
Updated the Gloves of Passage Buff Bar tooltip as it was previously showing incorrect information.
Fixed an issue that allowed Glacors to be attacked through the boss encounter barrier at the Glacor Front.
The Nodon Front
Improvements
The Slayer tracker and counter once again display the name of a cluster task, instead of a monster in that cluster. For example, it will now read 'dragons' instead of 'bronze dragons'.
The Slayer counter tooltip now uses the same description as the Activity Tracker. If you've completed a Slayer task, this description now suggests getting a task from the optimal Slayer master for your level (that you've unlocked), rather than the Slayer master who gave you your previous task.
Other
Improvements
After many years of campaigning by pures, the level 29 Defence requirement has been removed from Ancient Curses.
The Curses! achievement now lists Temple at Senntisten as a prerequisite, and its description is now clearer about how to unlock Ancient Curses.
Various bits and bobs from Yak Track: Path of the Creators have been cleared from Burthorpe.
The drop-down menu for the RuneMetrics drop log and the mode can now be changed.
Fixes
It is no longer possible to bypass the cooldown of a special attack by utilising the Essence of Finality.
Reduced clipping on the Wen Neophyte outfit.
Fixed a broken cutscene which prevented progress during the While Guthix Sleeps quest on mobile.
Fixed an issue with the softlock caused by changing screen sizes.
The game should no longer log you out when a Patch Bomb harvests a significant number of crops in one go.
Fixed an issue that stopped players from adding Golden Rocks to the Statue of Rhiannon while they were in the Statue Collection Bag.
Fixed an issue where certain players were unable to receive a Golden Dungeoneering Rock when completing a dungeon or sinkhole, or while gaining Dungeoneering experience in an Elite Dungeon.

Treasure Hunter Changes
Treasure Hunter is Changing
Greetings, adventurers.
Many of you will have been following the gradual alterations we've been making to Treasure Hunter over the last couple of years or so, as we work towards building a better experience for everyone. Now we're ready to roll out further changes that will make Treasure Hunter more transparent and rewarding than ever.
Our new look Treasure Hunter experience will go live on Monday September 27th.
So, what are we doing and why are we doing it?
To address the latter point, we want players to have as clear a picture as possible about the probabilities of receiving prizes, and the kind of XP gain they'll earn as a result. Plus, the prizes themselves are being overhauled and improved while we're at it.
Here's a look at what we're doing.
Probability Disclosure
As you play Treasure Hunter, the probability of winning particular prizes will be calculated and displayed in real time. This information will be presented in a new window replacing the former Categories interface.
Take a look at this before and after:
Before
After
You'll also notice there have been a number of other minor changes to the interface, including the removal of Alice and other mascots.
Hearts of Ice Discontinuation
A big part of these changes will be the end of Hearts of Ice. We've done this because:
Many of our promos now have alternative control methods and transparent probabilities built in
The other changes render them redundant
They've always been a bit fiddly
Players who are currently holding onto any HoI will be reimbursed with Oddments at a rate of 1 Oddment for every 5 Hearts of Ice (when numbers are uneven, they will be rounded down). There's no upper limit to this conversion.
Other things to note:
Should a player own a Heartfreezer Amulet containing unredeemed Hearts of Ice, these will be drained and added to the conversion total. The unlocked cosmetic version of the Amulet will be available from Diango.
The same applies to some other legacy HoI objects.
Head here for more information about the discontinuation of Hearts of Ice.
Changes to prizes
The following prizes will be removed from Treasure Hunter:
Skilling Outfits (Normal and Elite)
Slayer Masks - these will instead be available through Shattered Worlds play
Wicked Hood Tokens - now available in the Runespan Shop for 1.5k points each
200m Coins (this has been replaced by a 50m Coin prize, but thanks to the new balancing players will be sure to net more coins in total than previously)
Brilliant Alchemist Fragments (fragments that were otherwise lying around have been converted to 250 Oddments each)
All cosmetic items except those applicable to a current promotion
Note that cosmetic items from non-active promo items that are part of a set will be listed in the Oddments Store in bundles that are discounted for each owned component (similar to the Felix the Cat outfits).
In contrast, the following prizes will be added:
Giant Stars and Giant Lamps (promotional versions of these also exist (i.e. Smouldering Lamps, Bubbling Lamps etc)
Huge Coin Pouch (new - values change according total level)
Portable Packs (assorted sizes)
We've also given all Lamps and Stars a bit of a graphical makeover, too.
Balancing
The rate at which items of assorted commonality can be found has also been tweaked.
Promos that contain one-time unlocks will inevitably differ slightly, although positively! And remember that the probabilities will be reflected dynamically in the interface as you play.
We've also increased the Oddment conversion rate for Treasure Hunter prizes to make up for any lost value for Keys in the wake of the Hearts of Ice removal:
While the new XP curve now scales to 120, the section from 100-120 will only impact those skills which also reach 120 (Archaeology, Dungeoneering, Slayer, Farming, Herblore and Invention).
And that's everything! Once all these changes go live on September 27th, Treasure Hunter will be more transparent than it has ever been before.
Thanks ever so much to all of you who have offered us feedback on Treasure Hunter over the years. We know the road here has been a long one, but we hope you agree that these are all steps in the right direction.
All the best,
- The RuneScape Team
Elder God Wars Dungeon: The Croesus Front
An ancient evil has been slumbering beneath Senntisten Graveyard. As the Elder God Bik prepares to launch an attack on the defenders of the Cathedral, she spies an opportunity… and terror blooms.
Welcome to the third phase of the Elder God Wars Dungeon: The Croesus Front. This challenge will be unlike any you’ve faced before and contains RuneScape’s first ever skilling boss.
Holding your nose? Good. Let’s dive in.
[previewyoutube="hG5-l3XyAQE;full"]
The Croesus Front
The Senntisten graveyard was once a peaceful place to pay respect to the long-dead citizens of the Zarosian capital. But no longer. Bik has awakened Croesus, an enormous sentient fungus that threatens to spread across the city, feasting on any organic matter in its wake. That includes you – so you’ll need to cut this mycological monster down to size before it’s too late.
There is no combat on The Croesus Front – instead, you’ll need to use your gathering skills to fight back against the encroaching gunk.
Throughout the graveyard you’ll find skilling nodes for Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing and Hunter, which will allow you to harvest fungus to concoct new consumables or repair and craft new armour. You can also feed it to the animals on your Player Owned Farm, but we won’t be held responsible for the contents of the manure pile if you do.
You’ll need at least level 88 in the respective skill to access the standard nodes, whereas the enhanced nodes will require at least level 92. There are no skill requirements to face Croesus itself, although we do recommend having at least level 80 in Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, Hunter and Construction.
Boss: Croesus
Croesus is different to any boss you’ve faced before. It cannot be killed in any way that matters – all you can do is force it back into a dormant state by summoning the spirits placed around the graveyard. Luckily, this encounter is massable, so you won’t be alone.
The four corners of the boss arena are home to four graves belonging to mighty heroes of the Second Age and their trophy kills. Croesus’ fungus is growing over the graves, leeching the power within. To stop it, you’ll need to work with other players and use your Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing and Hunter skills to clear the fungal matter. This will reduce Croesus’ strength, but watch out – the fungus will grow back in time, although you can slow it using Rotten Fungus you’ve already collected.
For a more permanent solution, you’ll need to restore the statues of the four heroes using the materials you gather during the encounter. Once repaired, you can pray at the statues to subdue Croesus. Once it’s been subdued, you’ll gain access to the core fungus. Destroy that, and Croesus will be restored to its dormant state… and for a time, the city will be safe.
Skill Drain
Luckily for you, Croesus won’t deal damage – but it will try to drain your skills using its powerful attacks. Lose too many levels, and you’ll have to retreat!
Skills and XP
Croesus is RuneScape’s first skilling boss. As such, there’s no use for combat skills on this Front. Instead, you’ll use Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing and Hunter to gather materials and wear the not-so-fun-guy down. Construction will also come in handy, to a lesser degree.
You’ll receive XP in the appropriate skill any time you contribute towards a task, whether that’s using the skilling nodes, harvesting from the core fungus, repairing statues – or anything else!
Rewards
But XP isn’t all you have to look forward to. The Croesus Front is absolutely infested with rewards.
Cryptbloom Armor
The Cryptbloom Armor set is Tier 90 Magic tank armour, and it comes with a set effect that grows with each piece you have equipped:
At 2 pieces, incoming magic damage is reduced by 12% and incoming melee damage is reduced by 8%.
At 3 pieces, incoming magic damage is reduced by a further 6%, melee damage is reduced by a further 4%, and these bonuses are doubled if your primary spell is earth type.
At 4 pieces, every time you take damage you have a 6% chance to infect your target with Croesus’ death spores, which will increase the damage they take from behind by 10%.
With all 5 pieces equipped, you’ll get all the above and when you fall below 20% HP you’ll gain a fungal shield, which scales with your armour rating and Defence level, for 15 seconds. The shield has a 120 second cooldown.
Skilling Off-Hands
The Croesus Front has a bumper crop of two new skilling off-hands – one for Woodcutting and one for Mining.
Tagga’s Core Hammer is a level 80 Mining off-hand that’ll give you +10% critical strike chance and +35 critical strike damage when equipped. When mining ores from the fungal core using Tagga’s Core Hammer, you’ll have the chance to receive Deathspore Arrowtips. The higher tier of ore, the higher the chance to get Arrowtips – and the more you’ll get!
Sana’s Fyrtorch is a level 80 Woodcutting off-hand that gives you +6% success chance when Woodcutting, and 20% chance to get an extra log. When Sana’s Fyrtorch is equipped you’ll also get the chance to receive Splintering Arrowtips when chopping logs. Again, the higher the tier of log, the higher chance of receiving Arrowtips, and the more you’ll get.
Also of note: with Sana’s Fyrtorch equipped, you’ll be able to burn Croesus’ sticky fungus instantly.
Arrows
While wielding either of the new skilling off-hands, you’ll have the chance to receive Splintering or Deathtouch Arrowtips, which you can then craft into Arrows.
Splintering Arrows cause any attacks used within 4.2 seconds after Greater Dazing Shot to apply puncture stacks. Of course, you’ll need to have unlocked Greater Dazing Shot from Shattered Worlds for this to work. In addition, the maximum number of puncture stacks will be increased to 13 while using Splintering Arrows.
Deathspore Arrows boost your critical chance by +3%. When you crit, you’ll gain a stack of Feasting Spores. At five stacks, you’ll gain a buff which makes your next Ranged ability that would normally cost adrenaline free if you cast it within nine seconds. This effect has a 60 second cooldown, but each time you crit while using the Deathspore Arrows this cooldown is reduced by 1.8 seconds.
Seed Bag
The Seed Bag is an item that stores up to 40 different types of seed, to their usual maximum stack. You’ll be able to craft the Seed Bag with materials you collect from the Croesus encounter – although we’re keeping mum on the exact recipe for now.
Grasping Rune Pouch
The Grasping Rune Pouch is an upgrade to your existing Rune Pouch. It holds up to four different runes and gives you a +4 bonus to Prayer. You’ll also have a 25% chance to not use runes when using combat spells.
Well, the fungus is starting to eat through our keyboards, so that’s all the information you’re getting for now – but keep your eyes peeled for the Croesus Front Survival Guide, and The Croesus Front itself, which goes live on September 27th. We hope you’re prepared…

Join us tomorrow, Tuesday September 21st at 16:00 Game Time to learn the first details of the next sinister front of the Elder God Wars Dungeon, including which Elder God we will be facing this time, and which tricks they might have in store. Featuring artwork by the talented Nina_Ray, you won't want to miss it!
A not-so-cuddly creature has made its way to The Marketplace! Saul is a fearsome-looking wyrm pet, and he enjoys swooping through the skies of Gielinor, showing off those lovely shiny scales of his and scaring the living daylights out of passing sheep.
Saul costs 433 RuneCoins for free-to-play accounts, and 390 RuneCoins with the members' discount.
What are you waiting for? Go say hi!
Back when we launched The Glacor Front, we asked you to show us your coolest cocktail (or mocktail!) concoctions by posting them on socials with the hashtag #ElderGodWars.
We've shaken, we've stirred, and we're ready to reveal our five winners - but first, let's take another look at the inspiration, cooked up by mixologist extraordinaire Sighaxen.
Mmm, delicious!
Not to be outdone, you lot absolutely bombarded us with all manner of creations. Big thanks to all who entered!
Now, without further ado, here are our five winners!
Congratulations to the lot of you! All our winners will receive five Bonds and a King Black Dragon building set each. We'll be contacting you all to arrange the delivery of the prizes, so keep your eyes on your inboxes!

Dwarf, Golden, and Royale Multicannons have been converted from four pieces into singular items.

All Multicannon Parts are no longer obtainable and can no longer be used.
All Multicannons now have a tooltip stating their maximum damage.

Tuesday September 21st | 16:00 Game Time | Elder God Wars Dungeon Front Reveal
The third front of the Elder God Wars Dungeon is creeping up on us! Which Elder God will we be facing this time, and which tricks might they have in store? All we can say is it'll be blooming good fun!
We love a good Rune Tune to jam out to, and this song by MarMar RS is no exception! It perfectly captures the feeling of dying to the Arch-Glacor. Never mind MarMar, there's always next time!
