Weekly News #19 - Re-work Progress


Hi! Today, we want to share the progress of ongoing re-works.


  • New Tutorial Page





    We're trying to make a new tutorial which players can read Second Second's rule procedurally in a single place.

  • Card Name Re-Work


    We are now categorizing card names according to their concept.

  • Card Power Re-Work


    We have newly made 1080 cards and are now adjusting their power levels.



We are adjusting some problems that have been repeatedly reported like a bad tutorial and card reading intuition etc. We are trying to fix problems not 'as soon as possible' but 'as good as possible'.ːsteamhappyː Thank you!

Weekly News #17 - Event Notice



Hi! We have prepared an event for you during card and UI renewal works.

If you upload the screenshot of Sector 5 in Standard mode 10 on the Steam Community, we will pick the top ten players who uploaded the most and send them a Second Second steam key.
The deadline is until next week's patch notes.

+ We also prepared a small gift for the first place.

Weekly News #16 - Update Delay Notice



Hello, We are sorry to let you know that there's a delay in the update schedule.ːsteamsadː

One reason why the update has been postponed is that the balancing of the cards has not yet reached a satisfactory level. We made more changes than we had in the process of intuitively changing card's powers and designing new interactions. So it took more time than we've expected, and new cards' balance has not been fully examined.

We are planning for great balance that can be used for Second Second PVP mode as well. Since Second Second has no randomness factors in battle, we thought that bad card balance is the worst thing that can happen in our game. Also, this decision was made because the release date we desire of PVP mode is not that far from now.

We will upload new works through the test client as soon as it completes. We are so grateful to all those who are waiting and sorry again about the postponement.

Weekly News #15 - Attending Taipei Game Show



We are in Taipei for attending TGS(Taipei Game Show)2019! B2B exhibition is over today and B2C exhibition will be open for non-business visitors from tomorrow to next Monday. You can meet us at the booth number H20!

Weekly News #14 - Attending TGS 2019!



Hello everybody! Sinkhole Studio will attend 'TGS2019' next week, January 24-28 at the Taipei World Trade Center.

  The booth location is 'H20' during both B2B and B2C. If you are visiting the show, stop by our booth!








Renewal works will be continued during the exhibition. Currently, we are setting up the core, time mixing or finisher cards of each archetype and also creating new UI and effects.

Weekly News #13 - Working On: Card Archetypes



Greetings! This week we have outlined 27 archetypes that determine the characters and abilities of a deck. These archetypes will determine which cards appear when a 'wild card' is opened.
  In addition, Second Second's monsters will have new card presets which take charge of one of the following archetypes.





Damage cards are the essential cards of the game and will be the same as the existing classification.





These cards assist in combat, such as neutralizing an opponent's damage card or offsetting the damage.





Utility cards directly help combat.

  • 'Time Advantage' cards become stronger when a player's turn gets longer.
  • 'My turn bonus' cards become strong when they are cast using as much of player's turn or activated on player's turn.
  • 'Silence' cards prevent the opponent from using cards within a certain category on a turn basis.
  • 'Double damage' cards increase damage within a certain amount of time.





'State' cards increase the potential of player's cards or disturb the opponent's cards. This is the same as the existing state system.





'Special' cards make it possible to counter advantageous weapon types. For example, 'Cannon'(Yellow) cards have a long cast time, so there is a high risk of cancellation by 'Gun'(Blue) cards. But 'Stealth' cannon cards make it possible to attack without risk.

Weekly News #12 - Working On: New Keywords


Hello everyone! A lot of updates are in progress and new tasks are systematically needed. That is why our patches are getting late.ːsteamsadː

We will rearrange contents such as cards and UI etc. Also, we will attend Taipei Game Show (TGS 2019) at the end of January. So we plan to update new contents before the lunar holidays. In the meantime, We will share what we're working on weekly.

Today, we are going to briefly introduce some new tags to be added to the Second Second.



'Will' tag replaces previous 'Ignore Lock'. Cards with 'Will' tag don't move behind the slot after using it and can be used repeatedly.



Cards with 'Unstable' tag are canceled if player's HP is reduced while casting.



Cards with the 'Collect' tag can bring back the applied states(Strong, Weak etc.) to usable 'tokens' after they are activated.


We've been discussing and making things which can upgrade several inconvenient issues maintaining Second Second's own unique system.

Weekly News #11 - Working On: Wild Card


Hi, Hope you guys have a great holiday. We are still working on a new system to be applied in the Second Second. Today we'll introduce "Wild Card" which is new content to be added.




  • By opening 'Wild Card', players can pick a card from maximum 10 cards in a specific tag.
  • 'Wild Card' will be given to starting presets except for the basic ones.
  • Some events will provide 'Wild Card' as a reward.
  • Acquired 'Wild Card' can be exchanged to a card in the 'Deck edit' window.


We plan to reduce the possibility of involving luck during card selection and to help players construct new types of decks.

Weekly News #10 - Situation Addition & Change



Hello everyone. As we are still working on improving the card system, we are adding and modifying node events too. The following contents are considered.




  • We plan to add a number of options for corresponding events by consuming cards such as 'warehouse' and 'researcher'.
  • We plan to set the appearance conditions for events that are difficult to lead to positive results (ex: Some events appear after a certain sector.)
  • We plan to add events which appear only at daytime or nighttime.
  • We are going to add several events that will allow you to receive cards without any costs.


The upcoming content of the update is kinda big so the patch cycle is getting longer.ːsteamsadː
