Patch Notes - 12/27/2016

Hello everyone! I received some interesting bug reports on the Shadows subreddit. Here's what's been fixed:


  • When selecting a resolution larger than your screen, entering fullscreen, then restarting the game, the main menu will no longer be zoomed in at that resolution but will instead default to true fullscreen.
  • In the Deep Below, one of the levels had a curious wall that would cause the player to bounce back to the original jumping position. That ceiling tile has been removed.
  • You should no longer be able to Tarzan slide between diagonal ceiling walls.

Patch Notes - 12/26/2016

Hello everyone! I received a lot of new feedback on the Shadows subreddit. Here are the changes made in the newest version of the game.

Bug Fixes




  • The mouse is now hidden while playing the credits.
  • Information text now appears and disappears more slowly in order to make it more legible.
  • Music in the cutscenes will now be based on the user's settings. I mean it this time.
  • In the event your character gets stuck in a firefly wall, it will now be moved out towards the left or the right depending of the position of the wall.
  • Jumping off of slants will now trigger normal jumps rather than double jumps.


Feature Changes




  • Screen resolution can now be selected while in windowed mode.
  • Settings such as particles and lighting effects changed in options in the main menu will now change immediately in the background.
  • Escape hotkey that exits the game on the main menu removed.
  • When you do not have 25 fireflies and do not have any pieces of the beacon, upon death you will automatically be taken back to the beginning of the caves.

Patch Notes - 12/23/2016

Hello everyone! I received a few bug reports on the Shadows subreddit and made sure to begin patching them at once.

The following issues have been corrected in the newest version of the game:

* Fixed a bug where the vines leading to the refractor would occasionally let the player through without having solved the puzzle.
* Cutscenes will now have their audio based on the settings chosen by the user.
* Cutscenes should no longer loop in the event that the player continually overlaps the memory particles.


Also:

* Anti-aliasing is now supported while resizing the game to a custom resolution.
* Music and runtime are now significantly more compressed. As in the game is now 300 megabytes smaller.
