We are gonna give you a brief overview of what you are going to find when you delve deep into the dungeons of Shattered Heaven.
Be it a distant kingdom, an ancient city or the depths of the earth, you will have to face many perils and try to find the balance between greed and your own safety.
The Depths
Dungeons in Shattered Heaven are divided in several floors, and each of them comes with unique challenges and conditions, including optional ones that will grant you rarer loot.
For example, enemies might inflict extra debuffs on each attack, traps might be harder to avoid and so on.
Daring to face the more dangerous challenges will reward you with a greater quantity of Dark Bones, a rare currency that will grant you many useful perks.
You will also become used to draft Neutral Cards after every battle.
Neutral Cards are complementary cards that you will find after battles and certain events.
In each draft you will have to assign 1 card for each character, so you will have to carefully consider your choices.
While these cards are often not as powerful as your Hero Cards, they can still work as a great tool in your arsenal: for example, one card might let you draw more cards from the deck, another a small heal to a party member or a powerful debuff, and so on!
Note that Neutral cards are not a permanent addition to your decks, but they will disappear once you leave the dungeon, making deck-building dynamic everytime you explore.
Events
It's not just about dangerous creatures and fights to the death!
Events are a big part of exploring a dungeon.
Simple Events usually offer both positives and negatives outcomes, often requiring you to take a leap of faith and hope for victory.
Trap Events are going to deal direct damage to your characters, but you can try to avoid them or use your tools for a chance to disable them.
Arcana Events are very powerful and rare events that will grant you a sizable advantage in your explorations: being able to see what lies ahead, healing your party, even giving you power loot like trinkets! Lastly, Blasphemous Events are the most dreaded sight when you are delving deep in unexplored territories.
These twisted versions of normal events will lead you to hard and punishing choices, but even despair can turn into triumph with a bit of luck!
The Pyre of Vesta
It's difficult to find respite amidst chaos, but the Pyre of Vesta grants a safe haven even in the depths of this cursed world.
From refilling your potion to healing your characters, this blessed place will be your favorite stop during explorations.
And if you don't need rest, you can also get rid of unwanted cards or draft new Neutral cards while you are resting close to the Pyre, helping you make your strategies more efficient.

We are going to take a closer look at Ishana's unique fighting styles and mechanics.

ISHANA:
A blind outcast feared and loathed by everyone in Ashram - despite her infamous reputation, she has been chosen to accompany Andora in the War of Ascension. The mysterious, ever-hungry entity that accompanies her since she was born will surely be a powerful weapon against the enemies of the Thunderborn Vestal - proven that she won't lose control over her powers...
ISHANA'S UNIQUE MECHANICS:
Ishana is able to summon her fiendish beast companion when she gains "THIRST" points from cards or by killing enemies. When the beast joins the fight, Ishana's cards will unlock new, powerful effects and will consume "THIRST" when played.
Ishana will have to carefully balance between accumulating "THIRST" and unleashing deadly attacks through her beast.
"GOUGE" is another powerful ability only she has access to; Gouged cards will be removed completely from the deck and graveyard for the duration of the fight, granting Ishana a powerful way to make her deck thinner and more consistent during a long battle.
Her beast also grants her enhanced control over negative conditions, making her especially apt at inflicting debuffs such as "BLEEDING".
A STARTING POINT
It's important to point out that these are just the basic playstyles of our protagonists.
You will be able to craft your own unique spin on their playstyles through unlocking character cards, active and passive skills, and equipping different trinkets.

We are going to take a closer look at Magni unique fighting styles and mechanics.
Let's get to it!
MAGNI: Magni is impressively strong and Andora's most devoted guardian. He has been training all his life waiting for the moment to become the guardian of the Everchosen. Duty-bound, he becomes the protector who shields his friends and smites their enemies with a poised riposte.
MAGNI'S UNIQUE MECHANICS:
Magni's ability to accumulate "RAGE" by dealing and receiving damage allows him to use incredibly powerful skills during combat. With enough "RAGE" stored, Magni can unleash his powers in every turn instead of relying on cooldowns like the other characters. Magni can also take advantage of powerful synergies with Neutral Cards, like with his exclusive keyword "HALFBLOOD".
"HALFBLOOD" cards will have their cost reduced when he has 2 or more Neutral Cards in his hand.
He also has access to powerful self-buffs like "PROTECTOR" and "RIPOSTE", allowing him to protect his allies from enemy attacks and counter with deadly retaliation.

ANDORA:
Andora is a fast and extremely skilled warrior. She prefers to overwhelm enemies with an endless series of fast and accurate strikes rather than relying on brute force. As the Vestal of Ashram, she is also able to wield the power of thunder.
ANDORA'S UNIQUE MECHANICS:
Andora has access to the extremely powerful keyword "SWIFT" allowing her to discard cards and draw new ones and perform a series of deadly attacks in rapid succession. Some of her signature cards come with the powerful ability "SINUOUS", reducing their cost every time you discard a card.
These mighty abilities synergize extremely well with her exclusive "OVERWHELM" cards, which gain more damage for each card played during the turn.
She is also able to empower herself during battle by playing different colored cards and filling her "ASCENSION GAUGE".

Greetings everyone!
We are finally able to share with you the first playable version of Shattered Heaven! You can now play the demo version of the game, covering up to around half of the first story chapter.
Please keep in mind that the demo does not necessarily represent the final product.
We already tuned several things including balancing and progression in the latest version of the work-in-progress game.

We have just reached our funding goal on Kickstarter and we couldn't be happier! We want to thank everyone that supported us and helped us reaching this very important milestone in such a short time!
Now that our Steam page is up and running we are going to post frequently and tell you all about Shattered Heaven. During the upcoming weeks we'll release plenty of videos, screenshots and details about gameplay, characters and story - leading up to our first closed beta events.
