Sheltered Update v1.7 – New Game Mode: Surrounded
Surrounded – New Mode!
A new scenario has arrived as a free update for all Sheltered players!
You’re Surrounded…
A family of three, desperately low on supplies, makes the tough decision to split-up. The father heads out into the wilderness to look for the vital supplies that will keep his family alive, telling them he’ll be back in 50 days with the resources to save them from starvation.
The remaining family members, a mother and son, barricade themselves into their shelter, desperate to keep the horrors of the apocalypse at bay...but it’s not just the mutated and starving beasts they should fear.
Seeing the family temporarily separated and weakened, gangs of bandits and marauders put their plans into action to try and evict the family from their shelter, by any means necessary. The family have faced bandits in the past, but something is different this time. These groups have found themselves bosses, powerful individuals that won’t go down easily…
50 Days
Limited supplies
No way to replenish your water
You are alone
You are surrounded...

Stasis: A Reworked World (Preview)
Survivors,
When Stasis arrives in a future update you'll emerge in a world you won't recognise, a world of even greater decay and ruin than you would of ever experienced in an original Sheltered play through. Nothing rebuilt - it just got worse.
The Unicube team have had some fun reworking some of the distinct locations that you've encountered so far. The main design point around the reworks being "how would they appear years after the original game".
Below you'll be able to see a few examples of some of the backgrounds you'll be encountering in Stasis, with plenty more to come...
Defibrillator
The next update will now include shelter inhabitants entering a brief period of unconsciousness before they die. This state is reached when the character takes damage that would normally kill them, either from combat or illnesses.
In order to revive the unconscious member before they slip away into the eternal abyss you will need a fully charged defibrillator ready to zap them back to life. The defibrillator can be unlocked by playing through the new surrounded game mode, so giving it a play through will be extremely beneficial as you can now avoid the death of your characters. Also there’s no need to worry about power being out as the defibrillator will hold its charge for a brief period, this is handy when you are in a sticky situation.

Recipe and Upgrade Pinning System
Hey Survivors,
As you are aware Sheltered has a large array of items for you to scavenge and craft, which can lead to players having to memorise what specific items they should look for an expedition. This adds another unintentional layer of challenge when you know, you’re trying to keep everyone in your shelter alive.
To address this the team have started working on a pinning system to both the crafting and upgrade panels, thus allowing you to pin a recipe or upgrade that will display a marker on the items you require to craft it.
If/when you’ve acquired the correct number of items the market will disappear. If you have two recipes or upgrades that both require the same item, the marker on the specific item will not disappear until you have enough of it to satisfy for requirements for both.
All going well this feature should be added into Sheltered when update 1.7 launches and will work on Surrounded, Stasis and the original Survival game mode.
As always, thank you for your continued feedback and support, we look forward to hearing what you think of this feature when it goes live.

UPDATE: 02/06/17
We've provided a quick fix patch for a few more bugs that have cropped up, which you can find below.
Advanced gas mask is now functioning correctly – fixed bug where player would get radiation poisoning through it still
Fixed bug where character heads would change upon removing gas masks after an expedition
Fixed bug where if a user saves and exits the game whilst upgrading an object, they can no longer upgrade the object. It's important to note that this is not a retrospective fix, if you are already experiencing upgrade problems then the patch won't change anything, only prevent it from happening in the future. We hope to provide a retrospective fix for this in the next update.
