Shift will hit the fan this summer, July 2016! Teaser inside!
Hello everyone!
We are REALLY happy to finally nail down a release for Shift Happens! We have been working day and night to make it happen and are very excited for our full release!
The game will be released this summer in July 2016. Before this time, there will probably be some minor patches but no content update.
The full release will feature the current game including:
the 4th and last stage of the game, The Grotto! (10+1 Bonuslevel in multiplayer and 7+1 bonuslevel in singleplayer)
And the story cutscenes, explaining Bismo and Plom's connection
LOTS more improvements :D

Last but not least I want to thank ALL of you, in the name of Klonk Games, that participated in the development of Shift Happens. Although there wasn't very much room for you guys to really get into deciding mechanics and stuff, every bug report, request, feedback and review made the game better and improved it!
Especially those that always had something positive to say, thank you. It means a lot, even though it might just be a few little words. We came a long way and it makes us proud to finally be able to release that shift!
Yet again, we bring you a few fixes and this time our code department nailed down some pretty annoying bugs that have been bugging (pun intended) us for a long time.
Especially crates should now work a lot better.
Besides that, we had been nominated for the so-called German Developers Award in three categories and won in two of them ("Best Game Design" and "Best Kid's Game") which makes us quite proud!

Long time no hear, sorry for that. I can just say we are still working very hard on the game and since we are a small team that really sweats blood and tears to make a living out of game dev, we also have to do other stuff (contract work) in order to stay alive financially.That said, we come with a an update that brings you great fixes and a little bit of polish.
Contentwise, it is important to note that the full content (the last stage "grotto" and cutscenes with story) will be released with the full release.
Unfortunately we can't tell you when exactly the full release will be but it might take around 1-3 months.
Anyways, this update brings a lot of small fixes and hopefully bigger ones for those of you that had issues playing the game.
So lets start of with whats new:
POLISH & SOUND
Added timerun clocks and a message when you first unlock a timerun by completing a level
The main and pause menu got a visual update and now have different colored buttons depending on the current stage
A lot of sounds got added including voice overs for Bismo and Plom
The winscreen got music jingles and cool sound effects
Here we go with the latest bug fixes. We finally managed to nail down quite some annoying issues with the help of the community (a special thanks to derp and littalwabbit that reported a bunch of things bugs and glitches!)
There were also some minor gameplay updates such aus:
Controls for the "anti-Grav" were changed to simpley pushing a to hover up and letting go to fall down
The Losing-a-heart animation is now more focused when both players die
Fixed a collider bug that caused scales to clipp into the ground in "107: Scaling it down" in the singleplayer.
As a heads up for the general development of Shift Happens, we are kind of getting to the end. However, We can't set an exact date yet when the game will be fully released.
But believe us, we want to get the game done, but in the best state possible so that you guys can enjoy it without any problems!
So more importantly we got a new patch coming for you with quite some fixes and improvements.
We added 2 new things:
controls layout for defaults in the controls menu
progress reset for single and multiplayer
FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS
Netcode:
Synced life progress
Client can see hosts actions in worldmap (but can't do anything himself)
Fixed having to restart the game when connecting a second time to a host
Fixed some minor stuttering
Fixed sometimes starting with wrong sizes
Fixed pushing/pulling not being synced sometimes
General:
Add rumble support for PS4 controller
Add coloring for PS4 controller
Added Print as screenshot key
Made outline behave correctly with levers and generally look better
Correct inactive colored eyes in test areas
Fixed Achievement "Don't drop it"
Fixed jumping sometimes not being high enough while shifting
Made impulse platforms register impacts better
Possibility to reset game progress for multiplayer and singleplayer. The profil-tab can be found in settings in the main menu.
Fixed a bug with opening the menu while pushing a crate
Fixed wrong force if tossing an inactive character up
Menu:
Worldmap: Added soundfx
Worldmap: Correct button order for controller in canyon worldmap
Worldmap: Fixed bug with always repeating bonus object animation on stagemap
Worldmap: Proper star animation in winroom
Worldmap: Add shift machine spare part to worldmap
Worldmap: Open worldmap in winroom via button and be able to close it
Worldmap: Close worldmap instant with B / Esc and go to stagemap with Y / backspace

Modus Selection: Middle menu move completely out of screen when it is inactive

Can't open and close menu in the same frame anymore

FIXES
While our coders were not only busy porting the game, they have also been fixing bugs, improving the game and adding the content:
Netcode:
Fixed menu issues
Fixed lift desync
Fixed routing delay happening at network game start
Fixed getting stuck in loading screen when client leaves
We know of 2 issues in netcode that we didn't have time to fix yet but will do soon:
If you have established a connection, and are already ingame and one of the players (host or client) leaves the game, both will get to the main screen of the game. If you try to connect and establish now, it will not work. Both players will have to restart the game and try again.
If both players spam "Skip" during the winroom animations, one of them can already be out while the other still sees the animations. This will lead to weird animations because one player can already move around, and the other can't.
General:
Fixed an achievement and made it available again
Fixed loading screen animation getting stuck
No more problems with both characters dying in water at the same time
Fixed an issue with rumble feature and dying for XInput controllers
Menu:
Fixed dropdowns

Removed blinking at "X"-Close Button

Christmas is going to be earlier than expected... at least for Bismo and Plom!

The past few weeks/month have been very stressfull and busy for us. To be honest, we have been whippin' our asses off to get everything done and create a new content update for the holidays...
and we really did it!
We are very happy to finally be able to have some vacation and bring you some brand new content for the holidays to play with your partner, friend, parents, spouse, husband, dog and cat!
The biggest change with this update is the worldmap! With the worldmap you finally can see your level progress, collect stars and unlock bonuslevels. We even added time stars for each level!
Due to the rather light feedback on the game in general escpecially on our "challenge levels" we decided to remove them, since they were just some experimental levels.
Remember that you can always check out what's planned for the future of Shift Happenshere!

Fixed catchign a falling player being harder than intended

Added and updated some localisation files. At the moment there are: EN, DE, RU and FR.

Fixed several bugs that occured with different inputs

Especially for the new content, which we tried to test and bugfix as much as possible.
Know ISSUES
Unfortunately we have two bugs that occur only in online multiplayer but couldn't fix yet so in case they appear, you have to restart the game.
So here go the two know bugs:
- If one of the party member leaves the game via menu, the other is stuck in either the loading or splash intro screen. In this case you have to ALT-F4 out of the game and kill the process.
- In the elevator only the host sees the worldmap. During this time the client can't move and do anything. We will change this in the future but it'll take more time to do so, thats why its in this state right now!

Update delayed. Merry Shiftmas anyways!
Hi everybody,
This time, short and sweet:
We won't make the update this week. Not because we didn't manage to do it, but rather because we had to make a decision.
To clarify:
If the next update would not just include the worldmap, but also a whole bunch of new content to play for you, we would've gone for it.
But the fact that we would've just pushed the worldmap with the update (which is still in a work-in-progress state meaning bugs 'n stuff), wouldn't have justified the amount of work we have to do in order to upload and create a new build version for the game.
Therefore we decided against it, and I hope you understand! It will make the game even better!
Other than that, we also wish you guys a happy delayed santas day (at least in germany we have that! yes, no krampus, just Saint Nicholas).
Also Nora, our animator has been busy polishing our cutscene together with Niko and Simon, our glorious Artists.

Next Content Update and News- Worldmap, CaRtOonz and H2ODelirious!
Hey everyone,
Long time no see (or hear rather).
As I already said in our last Content Update, we could not keep our 2-week-schedule for content updates.
That said, we will have a content patch next week though.
We are still re-lightbaking levels so this will take a while, even though we are now baking with a 32 cpu monster that doesn't really speed up the lightbaking process much (YES, as ridiculous as that sounds).
Anyways, we have been busy as hell and still a lot has to be done, fixed and improved.
We will have a content update next week on wednesday, december 9th.
It will feature the worldmap where you can finally see your level progression including collected stars, bonus objects and other things.
Other than that,
As you might have noticed we have been included in the steam sale 30% off and we hope everyone that bought the game enjoys it and has fun with it!
