Shift Happens in Early Access
BUILD 150909
Hi everyone!
For quite a while now we’ve been working hard on the development of Shift Happens. The time has finally come and we’re proud to provide you with this experience we’ve been polishing with all of our care!
Since the game is mainly designed around a co-op experience, we included a good deal of multiplayer levels, including an early online- and local co-op prototype. Of course we didn’t forget about our solo players: You can access our whole first singleplayer stage and one of the challenge levels. Please keep in mind that this is the first of many Early Access builds and content is still subject to change. It might include bugs or work-in-progress content.
Now without further ado, we present you the whole list and wish you a lot of fun.
Please keep in mind you need at least one controller for local multiplayer mode on a single pc. We support XInput devices (e.g. Xbox One or Xbox 360 Controller).
Having to resart a level in order to finish it is never intended. If you feel like you’re in a deadlock due an unintended way of solving a puzzle (or due to a bug) please report this! We require and encourage your feedback in order to improve the game.
KNOWN ISSUES
General:
Pushing/pulling huge crate is sometimes impossible. Shifting should fix this.
German and Russian translations are not fully complete, yet
Challenge Levels: due to Single Shift there may occur a bug with crate interaction. Shifting should fix the issue for now.
Online Co-Op: Various bugs and lags due to it being in an early testing state
“Invite Friend” button remains highlighted, even after successful invite (just a visual bug)
Various interactions (between players and/or interactive objects) may be lagging or lead to permanent lags (visual bug). Shifting might solve this issue.
Sometimes players have different sizes on different machines. Suiciding or killing the affected player once, shifting or restarting the level might fix the issue for now. If not, you have to re-establish the connection.
Spamming inputs on levers and pressure plates might lead to differences between connected clients
If the network connection failed to establish properly it might fail all consecutive times as well. In that case please restart the game on both of your machines.
Shift Happens, a co-op platformer for two, launches on 9.9.2015
We are putting Shift Happens on Early Access on 9th of September 2015. Currently we are knee-deep in preparing everything for a proper launch, so the whole team is on fire.
For the team, these are exciting times. It is our very first proper title, making Shift Happens our debut on Steam.
We're looking forward to getting feedback, working with the community and generally making the game happen.
We have a proper plan and are counting on revising it due to the feedback, although our worst-case scenario involves making the game as we intended it to be in the first place. Now we have the chance to improve it based on player feedback.
