A second compatibility patch is also in the works with a series of tweaks to improve the experience on Steam Deck. It's taking a while since some of the UI screens were not created with controller in mind, and need to be remade from the ground up without breaking anything in the process ːsotablushː
Hello everyone! I hope you have been enjoying Sigh of the Abyss ːsotaloveː Today's patch introduces an array of improvements for Steam Deck users. I originally wanted the patch to include more compatibility adjustments, but split it in two to ship a bugfix earlier.
Without further ado, here are the patchnotes: Fixes
Fixed a rare bug that made the 'Charchoal and flowers' scenario play twice. This was caused by a very specific sequence of events/choices, so it took me a while to narrow down!
Minor fixes to the Envoy's portrait in the stat menu;
Compatibility
Made the map UI controller-friendly;
Unified the look of the various textboxes and made them compatible with 16:10 screens. While this was made with the Steam Deck in mind, the fix will apply to all 16:10 screens!
Made adjustments to the stat UI to make it compatible with 16:10 screens;
The second patch will introduce more UI reactivity to controller (like sounds) and better/more shortcuts.
Updated pricing for Poland
Some users pointed out that Steam's regional pricing tool was exceptionally unfair towards Poland. The game was more expensive there than in Western Europe, despite the country having less purchasing power. This seems to be a well-documented error of the regional pricing tool, which I manually corrected. The price has now been adjusted to zł 64.99!

Small patch 2
Hello hello hello, and thank you for playing Sigh of the Abyss ːsotaloveː Today's small patch includes some bugfixes and a quality of life improvement! Bugfixes
Fixed the 'black screen at launch' issue. This was caused by double clicking the exit button, which prompted a save file to override itself twice, fail to do so and get corrupted. The fix is unfortunately not retroactive! If you are currently experiencing the bug, follow the procedure on the pinned post in the forums to rescue the corrupted savefile. It should then not corrupt again;
Fixed a visual bug with Sylas' sprite after visiting her boss ːsotablushː
Fixed a misnamed variable in the confrontation with the Abyss in the Dawn path;
Adjusted Lord Rizzo's epilogue line in the Dawn path to be more natural;
Fixed some scene transitions after the Festival—they should not accidentally spoil future illustrations/locations anymore;
Quality of life changes
The pages of the load menu and save menu are now synced!

It's been a huge part of my life for the past three years; releasing it into the world was scary... yet so, so worth it. But you're not here to read my ramblings, are you? ːsotawinkː
Community items are now available for the game!
That's a dream come true! As you play the game, trading cards will drop (if you have already finished it, they will immediately appear in your Steam inventory starting now). Collect a full set to craft badges... ...earn backgrounds for your profile... ...and emotes! Here they are: ːsotablushː ːsotasmugː ːsotathinkː ːsotawhatː ːsotawinkː Wait, where's Malec?: I was so excited to publish the community items that I forgot to quadruple check everything, so Malec's emote is currently missing. I contacted Steam's support and hopefully his emote will be added later (it's really cute and it ties the whole set together)!
What's next for Sigh of the Abyss?
I have a small patch planned that include some quality of life changes for Steam Deck and hopefully squash the last bugs. A big thank you to everyone who has helped find them with their reports!

Fixed the ending scene in the Avatar path. You are able to save in the scene now;
Fixed the scene that gives you a lead on the cove of a certain group. IMPORTANT: I had to split the scene into two documents. Load the autosave that leads to Bowels of the Earth to proceed;
Various
Updated credits;
Various textfixes;
Better flow when preparing for the dance if you're in Malec's romance;
Removed mentions of Valerico during the dance if you’re not on friendly terms with him/have never met him;
Corrected the portrait of a servant in the kitchen scene during the dance;
Fixed a couple of speaker names being incorrectly capitalized;
Fixed characters being abnormally large in the scene after the dance, when in a romance with Alpheon;
Hotfix 7
This hotfix includes:
Assorted text fixes;
Removed a line of raw code that showed as dialogue;
More appropriate background in the small scene with Sylas before you go into the cove;
Fixed missing arms/multiple arms;
Fix a crash that would happen when meeting the ruffians if you commissioned a new blouse;*
Fix a crash that would happen in Divinity confronted;**
The scrollbar in the codex is now unrestricted and should not snap back anymore;
Removed the autosaves at the end of the endings;
* Loading a savefile at the Temple should let players proceed to the Rose, then the ruffian scene, without the autosave crashing the game.
** Loading a savefile before/at the start of the scene should now let it proceed without crashes.
A big THANK YOU for reporting these bugs! There are so many interactions between variables that, despite all my testing, some things slipped through the cracks.
Hotfix 5 & 6
Hello! Today's hotfix includes the following changes:
Fixed a crash that would happen by selecting the phlegmatic choice while inside the well in the farm chapter;
Fixed a possible crash after attending Enilia's dinner party in the farm chapter;
The 'Shine bright, for all of us' achievement should trigger correctly now (it was misnamed in Steamworks);
Cloud saves are now enabled;
In hotfix 6:
The protagonist's side-eye doesn't show seams anymore;
Improved the wording in the Envoy epilogue about the clergy;
Coded a failsafe if only 5 events are available when investigating the ruffians;
Fixed Bástian's scene sotflocking during the festival;
