Patch 1.22 Preview
Hello, survivors! This patch update will cover many issues that everyone cares about recently, including new features, balance, game optimization, etc.
Since survivors can get a lot of information by using night vision on the center of the second floor with very low risks, players now prefer to gather in that location during Crimson Dream. Therefore, this update will help with the mentioned issues.
The details are as follows:
● The breach will be adjusted as two separate ones in different locations. ● Adjusted the visual effect of Night vision camera. Speed will be slightly reduced while using this equipment. ● Added a landing movement for players who jumped from the second floor to the first floor. ● Added a blinking light on the Night vision camera. This will allow the Possessed to find targets easily.
New Features
● Added new equipment Corrupted Crystal Core: use on a distant target to reduce their sanity by 20 points and gain 20 points of evil energy. ● Added mic test in settings. Players now can adjust their mic volume themselves. ● Other players’ mics can now be muted.
Functions
● Notification for dead players went disconnected will not be shown to other players. ● Added new icon for microphone volume. ● Players can press Z to skip voting with their map showing during a meeting. ● Victims can only participate in discussions for 30 seconds and their votes can be seen by all players. ● The duration of a meeting will be changed by the number of current players. Less alive players, less time to discuss. ● Voice input and Voice output will be replaced by Microphone volume and Voice volume.

● Added the animation for landing movement. ● Added new animation for new equipment. ● Optimized the visual effect of Night vision camera. ● Optimized vision for dead players.

Hello, players! We hope you’ve been enjoying the first few weeks of Sinister Night! This build will bring a variety of changes, fixes, new features, balance, etc.
Based on the current gaming environment, in order to win, the Possessed need to pick their next victim and the timing carefully. However, because of the unstable effect of using the Cursed Skull while Survivors can manage to stay alive in multiply ways, it‘s hard for Possessed to kill a specific target yet still be able to fake an alibi or frame others. Therefore, this update will help with the mentioned issues.
The details are as follows:
● Untransformed possessed can see other players in Crimson Dream. ● When Crimson Dream is fading , Possessed will gain extra Clairvoyance automatically. ● Clairvoyance: cooldown reduced from 10 to 8 seconds and duration reduced from 5 to 4 seconds. ● Crimson Dream: Cooldown reduced from 95 to 80 seconds, 40 seconds if no Survivors were killed. ● Voice channel of possessed will be automatically activated during Crimson Dream. ● The number of offerings sightly reduced. ● Altar quests duration changed from 360 seconds to: 360 / 300 / 270 / 270 / 240 / 210s. ● Increased the energy gained by possessed when the altar quests time out. ● Reduced duration of overtime for altar quests.
New Feature
● Added new equipment Lantern: players can place the Lantern on the floor, it provides additional lighting and Sanity regain. ● Players who got tied up can now be freed by others. ● Players can press U to respawn if they are stuck at certain places.
Balance
● Players can purchase no more than two sets of bird cages. ● Visible range for triggered bird cages has decreased. ● Possessed can gain 100% evil energy if they use Dagger of Sacrifice to kill another Possessed. ● The possessed's first-person kill animation is accelerated now. ● The possessed can still regenerate energy when they are being tied up. ● During Crimson Dreams, Survivors in the conference room can no longer gain Sanity. ● Regain Sanity after Crimson Dream reduced from 20 to 15. ● Players can not be able to sprint while wearing Night-vision Camera. ● Players are now able to talk once they got killed instead of after the Crimson Dream ends.

Announcement for price adjustment in partial areas
Hello, players! Z-star speaking. As a group of rookie indie developers, we want to say thank you to everyone for the love and support of our game since it was released. This is the first game we have launched on steam.
Due to the unacquainted with pricing mechanisms and exchange rate in different areas, Sinister Night’s selling prices ends up very different in different areas.
To constantly maintain our game’s operative and based on our cost, we have made a tough decision. We are terrible to inform you that the price of Sinister Night will increase to $7.45 in partial areas which allow the difference in price between this and the official selling price( $9.99) is a reasonable gap. The new price will be effective at 9:00 EDT (13:00 UTC) June 25.
Lastly, we want to apologize to all players once again. We will keep working on optimizing the game and bringing a better experience to everyone.

Patch 1.20 Notes
Hi guys! Sinister Night has been released for a week. During this week, we have received many suggestions and feedback from the community. which will motivate our team to better optimize the game. This patch update will cover many issues that everyone cares about recently, including new features, balance, game optimization, etc. The details are as follows:
New Features
Add new equipment Dagger of Sacrifice: Gives the possessed the ability to kill his teammates, and at the same time inherit the energy of his teammates.
Victims will now hold their last breath until the end of the next meeting and can participate in discussions and votes.
We hope that the possessed can more strategically choose the timing of the Crimson Dream, rather than randomly transforming in front of the victim.
Added mouse sensitivity adjustment in the settings menu.
Added status display for offline players.
Added status display on who is speaking during the game exploration phase.
Added a list of players who haven't mark their location during the meeting.
Balance
Because the percentage of winning by completing the ritual is too high, We made two optimizations:
Slightly reduced the number of ritual offering items on the map.
Possessed: Increased Evil Energy gained by desecrating the altar from 40 to 50.
Survivors have too many gold coins, which makes purchasing items less strategic. Therefore, the automatic growth of gold coins is weakened.
Survivor: The time to obtain 1 gold has been increased from 30 seconds to 40 seconds.
Since there are many ways for survivors to save their lives in the Crimson Dream, we have slightly reduced the difficulty for the possessed to find their targets.
Possessed: Possessed now have better vision during Crimson Dream.
The duration of the Invisibility Tonic is so short that it has no value to the possessed. We differentiated the duration of invisibility in different stages, hope this item is now useful for the possessed.
Invisibility Tonic: During the exploration phase, its duration is increased to 6 seconds. In Crimson Dreams, the duration is reduced to 3 seconds.
Bird cages can precisely locate the possessed, and at the same time are too cheap.
Bird Cage: Cost increased from 10 to 15 coins.
Arts
Optimized the effect of the cross to make its function and scope clearer.
Environment: Adjusted lighting during exploration phase and Crimson Dream.
Models: Adjusted different props and collisions in the scene.
Animation: Improved character movement blending and animations during discussion.
UI: Adjusted Personal Information and Character Selection scene.
Functions
Voice Chat: Increased maximum volume for voice input from 100% to 200%.
Key: Modified the key binding of using items to F to prevent accidental use.
Flashlights will now stay on while using items (Nightvision Camera and Cross is not included).
Bug fixed
Sound: Fixed bug that missing sound effects for Mute and Unmute key.
Sound: Fixed bug where sound effect for Assembly Bell can only be heard by the player who purchased it instead of all players.
Sound: Fixed bug for Sedative sound effect where it could be heard by all players.
Sound: Fixed bug where voice chat for dead characters was too loud.
Fixed bug for dead characters where they had visible items in their hands.
Fixed a bug where two players picked up equipment at the same time, the pick-up logic was wrong.
Fixed issue where sprint will automatically stop after effects of Sedative ended.
Fixed the bug that the visual effect of the cross did not disappear after Crimson Dream.
Fixed problem with player unable to move after being hit by a wooden bat.
Fixed problem with player still being able to use items or transform during the first three seconds from report to joining the meeting.
Fixed issue with players having incorrect hints after a peace Crimson Dream.
Fixed issue with players unable to see their location mark in the map.
Fixed issue with personalized keybinds returning to default while dead.
Fixed issue where the chest could not be viewed occasionally.
Fixed problem with players being able move their bodies after being killed.
Fixed issue about player being stuck in certain locations.

Update Preview
Hello everyone, Sinister Night, as the first indie game developed by a small studio team, is very honored to have received so much support. We’re very grateful to all the players who have experienced our game.
In addition, we have received feedback from many enthusiastic players, which we take very seriously. We would like to take this opportunity to share the upcoming update plans with you:
Clean Verison
We’ve received some feedback that the excessive horror elements may be too scary for players. In addition, animation with gore and violence is not suitable for live streaming.
We're going to add a clean version with less gore and horror elements. Players can switch between the standard version and the clean version in the settings, so that different players can enjoy the game.
Experience Optimization
In the feedback, issues such as voice chat and scene lighting are frequently mentioned. In addition, some players are dropped but the rest of the players are not aware of it that will also affect the normal experience of players.
We’re going to upload optimized versions for above issues:
Add scene lighting to enhance players’ vision in the Crimson Dream.
Add disconnected state display for the convenience of other players if a player is not in the game.
Newbie Starter Program
Although we have a tutorial system and in-game novice guidelines, there are still many players who expressed confusion about our gameplay in their feedback. Especially in the equipmnet system, new players may be confused of the items usages, which affects the direction of the game.
We’re going to release new contents inside and outside the game to help players get started with the game:
Release an instructional short video to briefly introduce the goals and basic gameplay.
Optimize some art resources to make these guiding signs more understandable.
Optimize the description text of store items, and also add detailed descriptions of equipment in the tutorial to help you understand the specific role of each item.
Add more items for players to pick up in the conference room at the beginning of the game and add more random pick-up equipment in the map, which is convenient for players to get started and experience the game better.
Balance Adjustment
Through observation and testing we have noticed that the balance needs to be further adjusted so that both the survivor and the possessed can have a better game experience. We’re going to solve the problems at priority that it is difficult for survivors to purchase items and the effect of some items is weak.
Mechanism modification: Survivors is able to gain Faith more easily in the game.
Item adjustment: items such as bat, tranquilizer, etc. is adjusted numerically or mechanically.
