New villages and pub

I have updated the villages to be larger and at the center of time is a pub that will heal you!

This change is inspired by my late nights stumbling around Boston. When the weather is cold and the sky is dark, there's nothing quite like a warm pub and a cold dark beer that will increase my HP.

More changes to come. Sorry I haven't been working on the game as much these days. I have a full time job that takes up a lot of time. But I still find some time for Skullborn everyone now and then.

I've overhauled the progression system and replaced it with two new systems


The skill system



These are the new skills:

You gain xp for the skill as you use it and when you level up you will unlock more things to craft, weapons to equip, and resource nodes to gather!

Core Unlocks



These unlock the ability to wear and craft better armor, increase your total HP, and more!
When you complete new dungeons you are awarded with Elder Seeds. You use them to unlock Core Unlocks!

Crafting Station Upgrades and Crafting Challenges


Now you must complete a quick challenge to craft new items.
Crafting Stations can be upgraded. When you upgrade the crafting station you can craft better items but the crafting challenge will get trickier to complete!

Small update: Added Chickens, many bug fixes, and more

Kill chickens, get raw chicken, cook it at a cauldron, get cooked chicken πŸ“ˆ



Other stuff



  • Ctrl + click in chest/inventory menu automatically switches the item to chest or vice-versa
  • Close most menus with tab
  • Special easter egg when you talk to the goblins in local chat
  • new user name tags for other players and goblins, and chat boxes for local chat


Many bug fixes



  • Fixed bug where Mithril was essentially non-existant
  • Slingshot works again
  • Won't show block shape controls if you can't change block shape
  • Fixed furnace ore/ingot showing up weird if when you have bags equipped
  • Fixed draw speed on slingshot and bows

Morph Blocks and Bags (more inventory space!)

All block shapes can now be unlocked from the core unlocks menu. Including a new one: morph blocks! These "blocks" work differently than the others. They morph together with adjascent morph blocks. And I think they end result looks pretty cool! I am excited to see the creations yall will make with these!



I added another type of core unlock: Bag Slots. Unlock these to gain slots that you can equip bags to. Bags can be purchased from the goblins in the villages. And they increase the size of your inventory! This has been a long requested feature so I hope you enjoy πŸ™‚

New Weapon: BOW + Crafting: MIRROR MODE

New Weapon: BOW 🏹


This new unlockable weapon shoots arrows and is made of wood blocks, like the slingshot but can do much more damage, especially when crafted with strong wood blocks like Yew and Elm!



Crafting Mirror ModeπŸͺž


When you want to craft something symmetrical enable the crafting mirror to automatically make added blocks reflect across the "mirror". This will make your life much easier when crafting symmetrical items. It's unlocked with the bow and enabled automatically when crafting the bow but for other items press V to enable it. Please give me feedback about this feature if you have any!

Dungeon Leaderboards and new Level 5 dungeons

Dungeons now have leaderboards! Try and get the fastest time for each dungeon
Open the menu while in a dungeon to see your current time and how many chests you've found (if the dungeon has extra chests!)
New enemy: Big Bad Skelly: This big brute wears player-made armor and once you kill it you can pick up these armor pieces. It has a punch attack and an AoE ground smash attack that will launch you in the air!
New Level 5 Dungeons:
Doors Upon Doors by @Halo0113 : Get lost in the expertly crafted labyrinth of twists turns, deadly traps, elementals, and doors upon doors!


Fozo Dungeon by me: Try out Skullborn's toughest jumping puzzle. Keep an eye oout for the big blue duck head!


Hidden Village by @Krob : This dungeon is absolutely insane. It's more of an experience than a dungeon. I don't want to spoil it for you guys. You just gotta try it out for yourself. I will say it features an entire handcrafted village, science lab, torture chamber, and a whole lot more!

New Ore and Ingot: Krobium



Wood progression



  • Similar to ore/ingots now trees/wood will have levels
  • Each tree has it's own type of wood block
  • Must reach higher levels to chop higher level trees which have higher level wood
  • Wood can make your slingshot stronger and in future updates it will make other wooden weapons like bows stronger as well


New Yew Tree




Wood Progression is as follows:

  1. Wood
  2. Birch
  3. RedWood
  4. Pine

Other changes:

  • New Main Menu song: The Grand Event - Staggr. And In The Deep Blue - Staggr. Both these are also Paco disks that can be found in game.
  • Big Bad Skelly WIP - Can be placed in dungeons in the dungeon builder
  • Secondary loot chests added to dungeon builder
  • Made the chest at the end of dungeons larger and cooler 😎


Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed bug where dungeons near spawn would give 0 xp
  • Fixed bug where dungeons near spawn did not work

  • Player made assets are now included in the game build (which you download from Steam) so new players won't have to wait for a while for assets to download
  • Re-added all enemies to dungeons that were missing enemies

  • Made coord display more visible and added the level of the area to it

I've mostly been focusing on fixing bugs and preparing for the Fozo cross promo and in game event which we will be testing today starting in 3 hours!! (see my next update for more details!)

  • Made cache updating much faster and more responsive for people with poor internet connections
  • Added Paint Bucket tool to dungeon builder
  • Floating block mode in dungeon builder
  • Character controller now checks a larger area to see if it's on the ground. This will help with jumping on platforms.
  • Prevent players from dropping items in dungeons. (it never worked and would cause errors)
