Beta Update - June 26th

Hey everybody - Thanks again for all the help with beta feedback!

Here's the changes for the latest update, mostly minor fixes but a couple fixes for bigger but rarer issues.

* Increase net connection timeout to keep very slow, but working, connections from disconnecting
* Fix possible issue with Skulls Anywhere turn order getting mixed up, causing game to fail to load.
* Don't add net disconnect dialogs while playing transition animation out of level (could cause player getting stuck not being able to see net disconnect dialog)
* Fixes invite not working when player is already in lobby/army select screen.
* Fixed problem where Skulls Anywhere email notifications were checking the option on the sending player, not the receiver.
* If email notifications option was changed offline, upload to server when merging w/cloud stats
* User smaller font on player name on Winner screen if > 18 characterss
* Fix for entering joining a Skulls Anywhere game ,entering army select, and generals would not appear.
* Fix not being able to use Ok screen button with mouse in main menu Settings in lower resolutions.
* Fix for radius actor not updating in Skulls Online when fullscreen but alt-tabbed away
* Make Skulls Online chat dialog stay up after hitting send (must cancel explicitly using the screen button, escape key, or right mouse button), and don't reset lobby chat log when entering level.
* Make swear filter less aggressive (Hello should be ok :)
* Fix issue with not being able to enter @ on internation keyboards when developer console key (`) conflicts with it.
* Player leaving Skulls Online game after dying will go to lose screen (and get XP properly).
* Remove old demo video (was left from trial Xbox version, saves on download space)
* Don't detect controller unless it's actually used (button pressed or thumbstick moved), so controller button hints don't show up if controller is only plugged in but not used.

Beta update - June 23rd

Hi all - First off would just like to thank you all for playing and giving great feedback! It's been very rewarding to directly discuss features and issues with you.

I've just updated the beta - we added new features like chat in online games, and optional email notifications for Skulls Anywhere. These should be delivered to you shortly if you don't already have them, details on most important features and fixes below.

(the reason that you see two updates is that a few days ago we pushed another update but didn't post about it - so this is noteworthy stuff since we launched on 6/18)

We will continue to post as we update the beta.

beta 1.002 - 6/23/13 - changelist 7420

  • Add chat log for skulls online lobby & gameplay
  • Skulls anywhere email notifications with user setting
  • Customizable keys for WASD movement, add support for missing Tab key to be used in customization
  • Fix player match ending + return to a broken lobby, can now start another match easily
  • Fix hangs that could occur on the title screen menus
  • Fix settings list box pos in 2560x1080


beta 1.001 - 6/20/13 - changelist 7396

  • Graphics resolution settings available based on user's supported display modes
  • Localization: Better for international keyboard support for textbox entry (for example Skulls Anywhere user email w/@ symbol).
  • Localization: Allow manual override for display langauge in Help & Options->Settings
  • Update title screen coloration & add BONE-A-FIDE!
  • Progression: “First Win of the Day” stat at the end of a game now properly only awards if the player wins.
  • Progression: “Winner” stat at the end of a game now properly only awards if the player wins.
  • Show save icon for min 3 seconds so it is a more visible reminder that autosave happens
  • Slightly reduced difficulty of Beach 3 and 4
  • MP map tweaks including minor collision fixes
  • Fix occaisional bug with tanuki teleport in online games
  • Fix a couple rare softlocks that could occur between gameplay & cutscenes
