Skyfront VR

Patch 19.1

Updates in this patch:

  • The target score in Domination mode has been increased from 250 to 500 points. This change should balance gameplay and give both teams a better shot at turning the match in their favour.
  • The custom graffiti of the winner of our Launch Giveaway – Xjac0bmichaelX – has popped up on the Polis arena.
  • The size of the Genesis arena has been reduced by 25%.

We fixed these bugs:

  • Missing colliders have been added to Genesis;
  • The Pineapple is now actually nerfed – pellet damage has been reduced from 40 to 20;
  • The controller shader and button layout bugs in the tutorial;
  • All logic errors in the customisation menu, incl. numbering and tab sequences;
  • Several bugs affecting communication between the game and server;
  • The bug that disabled the microphones of all of the players in the match after a map vote;
  • The bug that would display the same amount of gained XP for several matches regardless of how much the player actually gained XP in each individual match;
  • The bug that caused the game to display incorrect scores in Team Deathmatch.
  • The faulty control points in Domination Mode on the Genesis arena.

General Note from the Devs!

We are aware that in certain cases when a player joins a match, the audio from other players will be muted even though the mic symbol shows them talking. The player's own audio is still heard by the other players.
Fixing this bug will take a bit more time and we didn't want to delay the patch any further. A quick fix for the bug is closing the app (only leaving the match will not do the trick) and reopening it.
We will have this bug fixed in the next patch.

Patch 19 – RELEASE BUILD UPDATE

OHMYGOD! Skyfront uploaded its RELEASE BUILD! But wait, why does it look like we're still in EA? Well, Steam has it's rules and we want to abide by them, but we also want to give you our amazing game at a really good price during the holiday season... Long story short, the EA marker is a technicality and what you have here, ladies and gentlemen, is the Release Build of Skyfront VR! ːsteamhappyː The official transition from EA to Full Release will take place after the holiday season.

So let's see what's new!

Say hello to Genesis – our new space inspired arena! It's dark, it's mysterious and it's packed with fun!

The game now features a progression system that awards players XP as they gain more experience. Every time you level up, you unlock cosmetic items.

This brings us to – customisation! You can choose between tons of unlockable skins, visors and trails to create your perfect VR you! Gain XP to unlock more items.

To thank everybody that backed us during our time in EA, we have created a special Founder's Pack. The Epic skin, two Epic visors and an Epic trail in the pack will ONLY be available to those that purchased Skyfront before 20 December 2018. Thank you, all!

Minor fixes in the patch:

  • The Pineapple has been nerfed from 40 to 20 damage per pellet.
  • If nobody votes during map vote, the game will continue on the same arena.
  • The player outline is now thinner and we scrapped it altogether in Single DM.
  • Visual fixes to the Egypt and Convent arenas.
  • A plethora of visual fixes in menus and the HUD.

And to top it off, Skyfront is now also available on the Oculus store! With crossplatform gameplay, there will be tons more opponents to shoot at and immensely more fun to be had!

Patch 18 – New Convent Map, Domination Mode and Much More!

Thank you guys for your patience!
Here it finally is, our map number three – the Convent!

The Convent is inspired by medieval architecture and was once the home of scribes and monks. The huge statues within the cathedral stand guard over this vast monument. On the outskirts of the Convent, you'll find cosy little huts and secret towers.

Along with the third map, we've added a map vote. The prompt appears after every three games. The next game will take place on the map that won the majority vote.

The second huge addition in this patch is a third game mode – Domination. Battle the opposing team to gain and keep control of the three domination points on the map. The first team to get 250 points wins.

We've also added a new custom on-screen keyboard to fix several usability issues with the native Steam VR keyboard.

The patch brings a new health bar. The design of the health bar makes it easier to read from a distance.

The bots have been nerfed and now shoot less often and miss more. We're hoping we've hit a good balance now but please do let us know if the bots still feel a bit OP.

Finally, a server migration notification was added to inform the players of a server migration.

Coming up next – Steam Workshop!
