"The Game That Sets The Bar For VR Strategy" - 8/10 - VRTheGamers
One of the first reviews of Skyworld is now live on VRTheGamers.com and we're proud to say they awarded the game a glowing 8/10 score, stating the game "sets the bar for VR strategy".
If you're on the fence about whether Skyworld is for you, make sure to read their full review here.
Hotfix - "Wait for air support" issue (Ch. 3)
Hi everyone,
Thanks to your feedback on the forums, we have just pushed live a hotfix which corrects the following issue in Chapter 3:
Players would get stuck after beating the enemy, as the game would wait until the player is defeated. As a result, it kept showing "Wait for air support", blocking players from making any further progress.
This issue has now been fixed.
Post-launch content confirmed
Hello everyone. Since the launch of Skyworld we've had an enormous amount of questions regarding post-launch content. This caught us off-guard as we were not planning to tackle this topic right away, but mostly focus on bug fixing for the first patch.
So, let's ditch that plan and let you in on our thoughts a bit sooner. Originally, we had aimed to announce our post-launch content once we had the visuals to show for them. However, given concerns that have been voiced, we can tell you plainly that yes, there will be FREE post-launch content. We will follow up with an official announcement including visuals as soon as we can! Our first content update will include new skirmish maps in new environments and this is coming in weeks not months.
We ask you allow us the time to develop this content and communicate it to you in a more complete manner. In addition to new content, there will be balance tweaks, implementation of our localization, and bug fixes in the near future as part of our support schedule.
Finally, we’ve put a lot of love into this game, and we are not about to stop now. We hope to grow a healthy community for Skyworld. Let us know your thoughts and suggestions in the Steam discussion forums. We'll be reading and responding!
An announcement on in-game languages
While Skyworld was supposed to launch with a whole range of languages, our localization unfortunately has been slightly delayed due to factors outside of our control.
Apart from the current English in-game language, we will update the game to include the following languages as soon as possible:
- Chinese
- German
- French
- Italian
- Spanish
- Russian
- Japanese
- Korean
Apologies for the small delay and inconvenience this has caused. We will update you here and via the newsletter when the language update hits.

Single Player Campaign Preview
Your Highness, it is almost upon us. Your glorious reign is about to begin. I look forward to serving you as we remove the demons from your lands. To that end, it would be most prudent for you to familiarize yourself with your new kingdom and how to manage it. I have prepared some tips for you in the video below. Additionally, sire, you will find more detail on your kingdom's economy and resource management in this proclamation.
Recorded Twitch Preview of Single Player Campaign: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/180780447
Sire, as you can see there is much to be managed in your kingdom, but with the help of Lord Wadsworth, I am sure you will handle it all comfortably. To be certain of this, here is a brief review of the buildings available to construct.
Mill: The mill is one of the most vital buildings in your kingdom. It provides food for your citizens. Without enough food, you cannot sustain or grow your current population, causing you to lose workers needed for the production of other resources. Needless to say, your tax revenue suffers with fewer subjects. Less gold will make it harder to upgrade your units.
Saw Mill & Stone Quarry: These buildings create the necessary resources to build additional buildings and upgrade your castle and towers. Make sure to plan ahead for future construction by building enough of these buildings and assigning the correct amount of workers.
Iron Mine & Magic Tower: These buildings are the backbone of your army, however you will never see them on the battlefield. They provide the necessary iron and magic needed to build new units and unlock new spells. Failure to manage these resources properly will show itself quite clearly on the battlefield.
Skyworld Unit Preview
Your Highness, while your heralds are away spreading the word of 'Ye Closed Beta' far and wide, I thought it would be appropriate to introduce you to some of your soldiers. There are over 20 units in your army, however your general asked me to introduce you to these units. They have been training most diligently and are eager to show you what they can do.
Sire, knights are present in both your army and the enemy's. Your knights have chosen a fashionable blue to go along with their armor. They may be posh but pack one hell of swing. These units provide a significant area of effect damage and are excellent when used with other units that can absorb enemy damage.
As for the evil knight...fiery hair, fiery disposition. And he has big sword.
Countering him with a unit to tank and ranged units to deal damage is advisable.
Beware these manbeasts on the battlefield. They are insanely violent. Frankly, I would not stand near them if you were not with me, Sire. They are extreme damage dealers and can rip through enemy units. They are even more dangerous when wounded. They have been known to redouble their efforts, and damage, when low on health.
Often the last things enemy units see, these mechanical creations charge down the enemy and detonate when they get in range. Please take a few steps back just in case.
Sire, this next soldier is something special. The Operator can reach out and touch the enemy with ranged area of effect damage. While he doesn't say much, his machine gun talks loud and fast.
The rapid rate of fire means he is dealing almost constant ranged damage.
Closed Beta Coming in October
Sire, your faithful steward has been preparing for the arrival of your closed beta guests. Following your 2015 proclamation, 'there shalt be a closed beta,' he has been busy putting in place all the arrangements necessary for the beginning of 'Ye Closed Beta.'
Preparations will be complete this October, so I felt it prudent to send forth the heralds to proclaim the good news throughout the land. Soon your guests will be able to experience all the wonder and beauty of your magical kingdom. I am sure they will come running as soon as the news reaches them.
The proclamation reads:
Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
The King doth declare that Ye Closed Beta will begin this October 2017. All subjects wishing to participate must register for the Royal Herald's newsletter at skyworld-game.com. Thus registered, these faithful subjects will be eligible for a random drawing to determine who may enter His Majesty's Closed Beta.
The Royal Herald will make further proclamations on the exact dates of Ye Closed Beta. In the meantime, pass this proclamation far and wide through Facebook and Twitter, so that all may know of the King's gracious invitation to join the festivities this October.
