Mobs 2.0 Series: The Horse Patch!

This marks initial release for the mount system. Only horse for now, with plans to add several more very cool rides as the system is tuned and expanded.
Horses spawn wild in the Midlands and Broceliande. For now, no taming skill or animal lore needed.
Simply run up to the horse and press F. Ownership code is still too early yet for live play, so anyone can jump horses with no criminal penalty, for now. Also, mounts are not saved with the character yet, so keep that in mind.
New flying mob, the Harpy! They spawn at Umbergoth near New Minoc.
Dragons are known to spawn in Trollkin Mountains, Aelyntir, and Vilhorn Reach.
Balrogs with explosive whips spawn at the Muridor Keep located deep in the region of Hel.
Kobolds and Vendigo spawn at various ruins camps in Broceliande and the Barrows.
Find a horse, ride out and find them!
Next patch will probably have more new mounts, more mobs from the beastiary converted over to the better AI.

Mob AI Upgrade and More! Client b6.10c

Initial release of the flying and ranged mobs patch.
Vendigo now cast unholy spells.
Balrog now has explosive whip, and flies.
Dragon now spits fireballs or melees, also flies.
Kobolds and wolves are a bit more clever.
This will be a continuing expansion with more mobs every patch.

Fixes:
Player cottage and tower now have real windows you can jump and shoot through.
Mobs no longer display their loot while pressing [TAB] unless they are actually dead.
Eating and Drinking sounds for client during consumption.

Restored lobby music.
Added criminal flag for trying to pick up another player's claim block.
Hotfix- Lobby preview had a small error

A few enhancements in this small patch..

  • New- Player hotbar now has mousewheel selection.
  • Fix- Error when clicking input field while quest menu open.
  • New- Lobby preview for selected character.

Several key bug-fixes this patch-

Server Browser:
In-game server browser now lists internet servers including player count.
In-game server browser now auto-refreshes and loads the Internet or LAN tab.
Steam sever browser now correctly shows player count and server details info- ie player names, etc..

Housing
Fixed bug where land owner could not build until after server reboot. (Always lock/unlock the claim block immediately after placing.)
Can now pick claim block back up if you are owner.
Fixed client crash when logging in while holding a structure in preview mode.

Player Controller: Endurance regen rate doubled.
Solo Mode: Solo mode now locks the other menu buttons if selected. This is a safeguard to prevent errors until can streamline the UI more.

Spring '22 PlayTest Enrollment Conclusion

Grettings!
The Slurkum PlayTest has been successful thus far, however enrollment ends this Friday.
All those who enrolled in PlayTest will continue to have game access until further notice.

Back To The Content!

After working out some kinks with the PlayTest, finally had some time this week to get back to region spawns and quests. Time to patch in all the goodness.
Lots of new Regions have been defined and most have at least some spawns plus POI's.
The way Moongates identify the region has been tweaked. You are encouraged to hop the 'moongate circuit' and then look on your map in the interface menu, zoom out to see where you are.
For those that don't know, that's all the moongates really are, is a closed loop circuit that bounces you around the map until you finally get back to where you started.
There's are 8 hops to finish the loop.

Defined Procedural Quest Types:

Newly defined regions include:
Sea of Woe (need to add water texture back to the sea lol)
Foothills of Mir
Hyraeth
Midlands East
Vilhorn Reach

New POI Zones:
Baraskur (orc and ogre stronghold in Urukstadt)
Germelhausen (undead village in Urukstadt)
Umbergoth (griffins and harpies spawn in Trollkin Mountains near New Minok)

New Faction Zones Defined for Future Use:
Stonewatch, Norgard, Helgate, and Ironwatch Keeps

These keeps are placed strategically near various moongates and will be part of a faction control system in the future. They each have a bindstone that can be used at your discretion.
These new POI's and regions unlock new variations for quests. Also, both faction towns New Minok (order) and Legion Keep (chaos) now have 1 vendor that gives quests paid in silver instead of copper.

Slurkum Is Open For Playtesting!

The PlayTest client will automatically connect you to the Slurkum test server. The duration of the PlayTest is indefinite at this point, and it's closure will be announced well in advance.
When you get a chance, go to the store page and join the beta and try it out!
Bring your friends, join a faction, claim some land, kill some mobs, do some quests.
