Updated Tutorial videos
Tiny update here, just wanted to make a small improvement on the tutorial videos. I have made them shorter in length to improve load time.

Shoulder Charge Added
Updates based off player feedback:

  • Reduce bomb explosion count downs
  • Added tutorials hints before each match
  • Added input delay on menu item loads to prevent accidental UI submissions

July Update + Randomise maps added
Hey! We have fixed a bunch of bugs this month and added some new features.

  • Fixed slow-mo bug
  • Fixed character hat bug
  • Added text to portal to make starting game clearer
  • Added random map option
  • Updated Dash Animation Effect so that it is different from slam to remove confusion about whether or not you can kill with dash.

We have just released a small update that includes the addition of Steam achievements!

New Items and updated tilemaps!

We have just released a new update which includes some cool new power ups !
Including:

  • TNT Bomb
  • Instant Bomb
  • Map Flipper
  • Slow Motion


Also a bunch of bug fixes:

  • Fixed terrain collider issue( players were getting stuck on tiles before) Now players can glide smoothly across the tiles without issue.
  • Updates Tile maps so that they are unique to each environment.
  • Update to zone control tiles.
  • UI bug fixes.
  • Added Unknown controller mapping so custom controllers can be manually mapped an used in the game.

New Game mode and Character Customisations!
Smash Crates has a new game mode and character customisation!

Zone Control


This new game mode changes up gameplay significantly with players battling it out to place the most number of color blocks within the set time limit. Build as quickly as you can but also make sure to destroy your opponents blocks to achieve victory. If you ever played robbed the nest as a child this game mode will come naturally to you.



Character Customisations



We have also added new character customisations! You can now customize your crate with a variety of unlockable hats, eyes and more! Show off your style on the battlefield, even if you don’t win you can still be the most stylish!

Environment Hazards and Team Battle Added!
Hey !
We have just released a new update which includes Team battles, environment hazards and more.

Team Mode


You can now team up with your friends to see which duo or trio are the cratest of them all.
Simply select the same team in the character selection menu and you are good to Smash.
Warning: Friendly fire is always on! (insert evil laughter here)

Environmental Hazards


Each map now has its own distinctive environmental hazard. Watch out for Lava explosions, Low Gravity, Updrafts and strong wind gust.

Other smaller bug fixes



  • Hit box inconsistencies fixed
  • Slam + Dash bug fixed
  • Random item placement improved, items appear even when there is only a small amount of tiles left



Updates - Controller/Keyboard Remapping Added! + bug fixes

  • Bug Fix: navigation from leader board at end of match fixed to work with Keyboard
  • Feature added: Keyboard configuration added to Options Menu
  • Feature added: Controller configuration added to Options Menu
  • Bug Fix: Dash mega boost bug fixed
  • Bug Fix: Keyboard default bindings changed to be more intuitive
  • Bullet Speed double to reduce chance of player getting stuck in terrain as they build
