We’re back with another update and some really cool new stuff to talk about.
Would you believe that today marks a whole year since we launched Snake Pass into the world?
It’s been a wild ride, and to celebrate the game’s first birthday, we’ve got a surprise for you.
Well… we say surprise, but by the time some of you read this, it will have already hit your consoles, so you’ll just have to just act surprised, instead…
Is that a drum roll in the distance? What bucket of thrills does that distant fanfare herald?
Could it be…?
Is it…?
I think I can see something, bowling towards you right now, tumbling through its own dust clouds, eager to land on your console or PC… A lesser-spotted CONTENT UPDATE!
Welcome to ARCADE MODE.
You may recall that late last year we started teasing something a little bit fruity heading to Snake Pass.
Well, it gives us great pleasure to introduce you to the brand-new mode included with update 1.4: ARCADE MODE.
It’s no secret that Snake Pass has a ton of retro platforming influences; after all it’s practically embedded in both Noodle and Doodle’s DNA!
What better way to bridge the generational divide once more than by introducing an all-new retro classic with a modern, slithery twist.
ARCADE MODE is a take on the classic Score Attack mode: snake around each of Snake Pass' 15 levels, eating as much fruit as you can find to earn as high a score as possible.
It’s simple, but ridiculously addictive.
The aim of the game is to rack up massive multipliers and race to the gate before the time runs out as you compete with friends with full online leaderboard support.

Friendsss! We need your help again! Autumn has arrived and with it, the Steam Awards have returned to Steam.
After sitting some of our top monkeys in a room and having them hit some whirly-swirly buttons (Read: Important snakey research), we came up with the conclusion that we would LOVE it if you guys could help us get nominated for the "Defies Description" award.
All you have to do is login to Steam, head over to the Snake Pass store page and nominate Snake Pass for the "Defies Description" award in the purple bar... but you probably already knew that because you're logged into Steam right now, right?!
We'll be keeping our tail crossed!
UPDATE: Leaderboard Resets INCOMING
Hey everyone,
We're just wanting to provide you all with a notice about our decision to instigate a global leaderboard reset in the next week.
Not long after Snake Pass was released, tonnes of you were jumping into Time Trials across PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to see who could claim the highly-coveted title of the world’s top snake charmer! Whilst we were thrilled (but secretly seething…) to see so many of you put our own scores to shame, it became quickly apparent that a small number of players had discovered several exploits in the game that gave them an unfair advantage in the great leaderboard race of 2017.
With the release of update 1.2 several fixes have been included on all platforms that remove these exploits from the game, making leaderboard progress much more friendly. No more turbo charged Noodles for you! This also means that some of the times are no longer even vaguely beatable from this point onwards…
With that in mind, we have decided that it is in the best interests of keeping things competitive and with Nintendo Switch players joining the fray, ONE WEEK after update 1.2’s release, we will be resetting all the current leaderboards. That means that the title of ultimate snaker will be back up for grabs and the race will well and truly be on. We look forward to seeing what times you guys will be recording this time round and maybe…just maybe…we’ll stand a chance of beating them this time round!

Update 1.2 - LIVE!
Hey everyone!
Update 1.2 hit Steam recently and we thought we'd drop you all of the details;
RAZER CHROMA: support for Razer Chroma Keyboards has been added
4K UI: fixed a bug where the UI was not displaying correctly on 4k monitors
LANGUAGE: Steam version now sets to the language that Steam is set to rather than the OS of the PC
TAIL GRAB: fixed a bug where Tail Grab was unreliable
TIME TRIAL: fixed a TT exploit where players could get a time of zero
TIME TRIAL: fixed an issue in Time Trial where some players could not complete the level
TIME TRIAL: fixed an issue in Time Trial that prevented the timer from not displaying correctly
LEVEL 11: fixed an issue where the ball would activate incorrectly for some players
QUETZALCOATL ACHIEVEMENT: fixed an issue with Quetzalcoatl not triggering correctly for some players. If players have previously reached the requirements, playing a level without dying again should trigger the achievement.
FLOOR IS MOLTEN ROCK ACHIEVEMENT: The Floor Is Molten Rock achievement now triggers correctly
CAMERA: fixed an issue where the camera did not move as fast as intended
LEVEL 9: fixed an issue where the camera would not move for some players making the level unplayable
TAIL GRAB: fixed an issue where Noodle would move faster than intended while Doodle was holding his tail
GAME ICONS: all platforms have updated game icons

The 2nd of June is a special occasion for everyone here at Sumo Digital. Why? Because it’s our birthday and this year marks a whole 14 years since we first opened our doors as a video game development studio. Snake Pass Now Available On The Humble Store!
Hi everyone,
Since Snake Pass launched a little under 2 months ago, we've been seeing a lot of people asking for alternative ways to purchase the game on PC. Needless to say, we've been listening and whilst things have been a little quiet, we've been exploring a ton of great options that we hope many of you will be happy with.
It gives us great pleasure to announce that we've teamed up with the fang-tastic team over at Humble Bundle to bring Snake Pass to the Humble Store. Not only will you get our sssuper slithery game, but you'll also be supporting a number of charities with your purchase too, which is simply awesome.
Of course, this isn't the end. We're actively looking into lots of different options to get Snake Pass into your hands and as soon as we have some more news, we'll be sure to let you know!

Hey Everyone,
It’s been a little while since we’ve dropped our last update, so now that we’re just over a month since launch, what better time than now?! Thankfully things are a little less chaotic on our end, so much so that we’ve finally had chance to sit back and take everything in for the first time. It’s honestly been so much fun to actually sit back and jump onto forums/YouTube/Twitch to hear directly from you about what love (and what you dislike) about the game. So, once again a massive thank you to each and every one of you for supporting us and Snake Pass. Your feedback means so much to us and remember, we're always listening!
So, how about we take a quick look at the first 30 days of Snake Pass in stats?
Now sure, things have quietened down, but that’s not to say the team isn’t still hard at work, no sir-e! We’re all still committed to Snake Pass, so there’s plenty of work going on behind the scenes from upcoming patches, to quality of life changes, right through to exploring other possible avenues of getting Snake Pass into YOUR hands. Oh and there may or may not be additional content being explored too…Not that we can confirm or deny that either way.

Dev Diary 3 Launches and we're heading to EGX Rezzed!
Hey everyone,
We're a few days away from launch and we just wanted to drop you another little update before Snake Pass hits the store next Tuesday/Wednesday!
