Sneak Thief

What have I been working on?

Yes it's been a while since an update has come out but I have something really cool coming out! That being multiplayer! I also have 2 games currently WIP free demos will soon becoming out for all sneak thief owners! Don't worry sneak thief still takes priority over these games and are currently just side projects.

Multiplayer should be out around late July, the beta may be sooner!

Update 15 A NEW LEVEL!!!!! (AND GRENADES)

Update 15 includes:
-New Level (The Neighborhood) *Grenades are not in this level yet they will be next update*
-GRENADES They are in the Mansion, Diamond Heist, and hidden in a few more levels ;)
-Bug Fixes
-AI fixes
-Performance Improvements

The new level is finally out! Well sort of it's in a very early stage as many systems for the level were revamped, that means it is currently also using older systems as place holders untill the new ones are perfected. The new level is called The neighborhood. It features a new AI system (WIP) and gives a new feel to the game that I hope everyone enjoys. Please be aware this new level is buggy (why it's marked as alpha) please let me know if you have any problems!

Update 14 (Finally!!!)

FINALLY AN UPDATE
This update is in preperation for the new level mostly bug fixes and a bit of new content
I've cleared up my scheduel a bit so updates will be coming out a lot more

2017 Road Map and Update news

Happy new year everyone! I have some big plans for this game in 2017 but first I'd like to say I'm sorry the newest update being delayed for so long I'll go into greater detail below but if you'd like to skip that and view the road map thats just fine.

So whats up with the update?
Welp it was orginally planned for thanks giving but that didnt happen sadly. Part of it was waiting for a new update to the unity engine and the other part was my fault. Up until thanks giving I had spent most of my time working on a new level but sadly I did not take into account the amount of a performance hit the level would give players and it could not be saved so it was scraped and a new level has been in the works since. I was also going to release a patch to fix all the crashing issues but I've had to wait for unity to release a patch. I tried to fix the issue on my own without the patch but that just created more issues. I've also had not taken into account time I spent on school and with family, which was my mistake, I'm sorry about that but im only one 16 year old sometimes its difficult but I will always do my best. However as of now most of that is fixed and a new update will be out soon featuring
- a new level
- Volumetic Lighting
- added features to the level editor
- bug fixes

Road Map

1. Release the new level
2. Slowly add features to the level editor and get the workshop ready by march
3. Improve AI and Graphics gradually
4. Create the foundation for multiplayer and release the beta by may
5. release early access multiplayer by april
6. Finish all single player levels by the end of the year should total to 10 to 20 depending on the scale I focus on
7. Take single player out of early access by the end of the year

Level Editor Public Beta is out!

So the new level editor is out :D
Please remember the editor is in beta and will NOT work properly also most assets are a not yet included and will be added soon. I'll be releasing a more complete guide on using the editor but just for quick reference I put a simple guide together on some basics.
Saving and Loading
When you start the editor and want to create a new map enter what you would like to call the map in the text box then press new or if you would like to load a map within your custom maps folder type the name of the map in the box and press load. Once you are ready to save just press save.
Share Custom Maps
Since the steam workshop is not yet avalible to share your maps you can post discussions showcasing your game and providing a download link until steam workshop is intergrated. To share maps all you have to do is send the file with the name of the map you want to share inside the custom maps folder
Play Custom Maps
To play custom maps all you have to do is take the map you downloaded put it in the custom maps folder within your game files then go to the community levels menu and select the map you want to play.

Update 13

The issue has been fixed and the update is back on!

-Major performance increases thanks to the new unity version
-Increased sword damage
-Updated to unity 5.4
-Added level editor access for specially selected beta testers or via command
The Level editor is not ready for access by the community, everyone will be able to use it by sunday hopefully. For now only beta testers.

Update 12

Not much special this time around:

Level Editor Information

After an overwhelming amount of requests I have decided to make a level editor. So over the past week I have been working on the level editor (along with bug fixes and a new level), so far it allows you to create basic levels using basic assets, basic ai, and basic mechanics (yes it includes weapons (yes that includes melee weapons)). I've also added some new stuff for everyone to play around with such as turrets and robot AI. I also plan to allow you to import your own 3d models as props or structures to allow for a lot of variety in the levels. Here is a small scene I setup:



Not the best representation of whats possible but it gets the point across.
As you can see the UI is currently very basic however it seems to get the job done. The main thing I would like to know is should I release the level editor in an early state with not as many features and accessibility as the final version so people can make basic levels for the steam work shop or should I wait to release it so it is easy to use and has a good amount of assets. I'd like to leave this decision up to the community as it is a tool for you to create your own levels :D

*Just so everyone knows saving and loading works so if it is released early you will be able to save and publish to the steam workshop

Bug fixes coming out this week, addresses common issues on the new level (AI being able to hit you from 5 feet away) along with other common bugs.

Update 11

- Lots of bug fixes
- Lowered AK fire rate
- Lowered Damage of AI
-Added a hammer (weapon) to the home invasion level
- Performance improvements on mansion level
- Added a temporary fix for jumping on heads in the collector level


Just so everyone knows I am currently working on a level editor, It will be a little while before it is done so I am simultaneously be working on a new level so I can get new content out for everyone. Hopefully I will be able to release it next week then the level editor the week after that. In the mean time I am gradually adding new content to existing levels, expect some new stuff in the next few days. :)
