Sniper Elite 5 | Conqueror DLC mission & FREE 30th Anniversary Content

Snipers,

Rebellion is turning 30! To celebrate this momentous milestone we're gifting our incredible Sniper Elite 5 Community a FREE content pack alongside the final Season Pass One update.

Available now, the FREE Airborne Elite Pack pays tribute to Rebellion's British heritage and includes the iconic British Paratrooper character skin, the much-requested Lee No. 4 bolt-action rifle and a Union Jack weapon skin for the Welrod pistol. Additionally, the final content for Season Pass One, including a thrilling mission called Conqueror, is also available now as is a new Survival Map called Tide of War, which is available for free to all players. Airborne Elite Pack:

The British Lee No.4 is famous for its ergonomics and ability to lay down shots rapidly via the ‘minute man’ hold, a special grip used to grip the bolt to reciprocate the bolt extremely quickly. It offers the shooter great stability, accuracy, and with a 10-round magazine, is very versatile with the powerful 303 British round.

Conqueror Mission, Weapon and Skin Pack

Introduction from Flix Interactive

Hello from the Sniper Elite team at Flix Interactive!

If you’ve played Landing Force, the first DLC mission included in the Sniper Elite 5 Season Pass, you have hopefully already enjoyed content created by our Sniper Elite team. Since then, we've been working hard alongside Rebellion and it's a pleasure to introduce the latest and final DLC mission for Sniper Elite 5 Season Pass One, Conqueror.

Lore and Setting

Conqueror is based on The Battle for the Falaise Pocket, an important event in WWII which took place in 1944, during which the allied forces formed a pocket around Falaise to cut off the German retreat. A key structure in this battle was the castle Chateaux de Falaise, famous for being the birth site of William the Conqueror, and colloquially known as Château Guillaume le Conquérant or William the Conqueror's Castle. This medieval fortress sits in the heart of the Conqueror mission and must be liberated from the Nazi forces.

Concept, buildings, lighting, Art and Design

The player starts in an allied camp where their fellow soldiers have set up base behind a ridge overlooking the castle, halted in their advance by heavy German resistance. Looking out over the area, the castle looms over a countryside ravaged by war with patrolling Nazis waiting expectantly for a show of force. The overcast weather and moody lighting set the mood for a region which was heavily bombed by the allies and left with billowing plumes of smoke and smouldering fire.

We really liked the idea of using the natural cover of the countryside to hide your advance by weaving between bushes, trees, sheds and farming equipment to sneak up on your unsuspecting victims. The open nature of the map, with countryside fields and open roads means sightlines are crucial for navigating safely to the town or village so watch your 6!

This initial area requires the player to make a choice between three approaches – to go through the village, the town or a possible third option. Choice has always been a prevalent feature in the Sniper Elite games, and we wanted to continue pulling at this thread to make each playthrough unique. This map is as vast as it is detailed and you’ll find that there are plenty of secrets to discover.

If daring enough to take out the Nazi snipers hiding amongst the heavily damaged buildings and urban landscape, the player is rewarded with impressive views over the ruined streets from which to pick out troops on the ground and plan their advance towards the castle. If you manage to fight your way to the end destination of the ancient Falaise castle, you will encounter a labyrinth of decrepit ruins infested by Nazis requiring close combat stealth and careful, deliberate strategy. Konig is the mastermind officer that has holed himself up in his office and must be assassinated. Fight your way to the very top and hoist the flag to signal the allies to liberate Falaise once and for all.

It's been an absolute pleasure to work on Conqueror and we are thrilled that the mission is releasing alongside Rebellion’s 30th anniversary celebrations. In addition to the mission, players will also receive the Drilling Shotgun. This Triple-barrelled Luftwaffe survival shotgun is devastating at close-range and still effective at distance when combined with Slug shells and a precision ironsight. Finally, the Oak Leaf Paint Weapon Skins gives weaponry a great new look that will help players blend into the undergrowth.

It is always a privilege for our team at Flix Interactive to work with Rebellion (and the wonderful Rebellion community!) and we would like to wish the entire team a very happy 30th anniversary. Here’s to another 30!

Included in this pack:

Tide of War Survival Map

Playable in both single player and co-op the new free Survival Map called ‘Tide of War’ is also available now to all players. Taking players back to the beachhead town of Colline-Sur-Mer, Tide of War presents an ever-changing challenge as they fight on wide open sands and sea front, through narrow twisting streets and inland into open fields.

The environment can be used to the players advantage to flank enemy forces but beware as it can also work against you. The players will need to use all their stealth, sniping and combat skills to survive wave after wave of oncoming Nazi forces and vehicles.

Sniper Elite 5 | Up Close and Personal DLC & Free Map

Allied HQ have received word that our agents in the field are in need of much-needed supplies. Strap in soldiers and prepare for a new Sniper Elite 5 supply cache, including free multiplayer map Kraken’s Lair and the Up Close and Personal Weapon and Skin Pack.

Up Close and Personal, the latest content from Season Pass One, delivers two new weapons (the Win & Co 1885 rifle and ERMA.36 submachine gun) and a tank top skin for both Karl and Monika.

Equip those binoculars and feast your eyes on the Up Close and Personal trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk04uFxVWdY

Release the Kraken!

The new Kraken’s Lair map takes players back to the Nazi submarine pen from the Campaign as it becomes a new battleground for multiplayer conflict. Overhead walkways offer great vantage points for sniping, while you can also fight it out on the decks of the submarines and in the tight, confined spaces of the corridors.

Looking to outwit your enemy? We asked level designers Alex Spyropoulos and Josh Povey for their top tips for victory when tackling the new Multiplayer map:

The map is largely enclosed & is smaller than the other maps currently available. This gives the map a completely different look and feel that we're excited to see our Community take on in a Multiplayer scenario. The smaller spaces can lead to some close quarter combat, but it still has plenty of long-range sniping shots across and along the sub bays. Our top tips are:

  • An Explosive Finish - Use the explosives littered throughout the map to your advantage.
  • Get the Drop - Use your flanking routes carefully, this close-quarters combat will benefit from speedy manoeuvrability in the face of the enemy. We’ve placed ziplines across the map too, so you can get in and out quickly.
  • Long-Range Prowess - Whilst we won’t reveal the exact location of the perfect sniper position, we will share that there are numerous vantage points on this map….you just have to find them.
  • Chosen Arsenal - The perfect loadout for this map would prioritise fast rates of fire and plenty of control.

What are you waiting for? This free map is available NOW to all players in multiplayer across the Team Deathmatch, Free-For-All and Squad Match game modes.

New styles and Weaponry

Up Close and Personal
includes two new high-powered weapons as well as a new ‘Tank Top’ look for Karl and Monika. The Win & Co 1885 is a heavy-hitting rifle that, despite its restricted rate of fire, houses an enormous .50 calibre 50-110 round which can eliminate any enemy with a single shot.

This is complimented by a new submachine gun, the ERMA.36. Featuring an integral suppressor and high muzzle velocity, the ERMA.36 is a heavy but powerful stealth SMG.

What’s included in the Up Close and Personal Weapons and Skin Pack?

  • Win & Co 1885 – Weapon Pack (Rifle + Attachments)
  • ERMA.36 – Weapon Pack (Submachine Gun + Attachments)
  • Tank Top - Character Skin (Karl and Monika variants)

See you on the battlefield snipers. The Axis is not done yet!

This includes a resolve for the Thousand Metre Stare Medal which can now be unlocked as expected and a fix for the Connection to the game has been terminated (12050) error impacting some players. Other fixes include:

  • Players are now able to join a Host via the in-game friends list.

Sniper Elite 5 Hotfix & Dev Update | 08.08.22

Hi folks,

I’m the designer working on Invasion Mode, and I wanted to quickly address some of the community feedback we’ve seen crop up since the last patch.

Firstly, we apologise that the patch notes didn’t include a detailed list of the changes we made to Invasion Mode. This was a mistake on our part and something we’d like to rectify now. The balancing changes we implemented were as follows:

  • We removed the Invader’s access to special ammo. This is because a few of the special ammo types were very powerful, and there were certain scenarios we wanted to avoid for the players who were the target of them, such as new players being shot through walls without understanding what was happening, and so on.
  • We prevented players from quitting during bullet cams, to avoid sneakily leaving and denying you your justified kill!
  • A few small bug fixes and tweaks to the UI, none of which should affect the balance.

I’ve seen a lot of feedback from players who believe we’re balancing the game too hard in favour of the Allied player, and we understand those concerns. From the perspective of an Invader, our balancing patches look as if we’re just taking tools away from you, while the players you invade still have their full suite of abilities. However, we have a stat system that we use to track Invasion data, and that’s currently reporting that the Invader wins nearly 70% of the time! As such, the reason we’re making these choices is because across the whole game, across all ability levels, the Invader is actually winning a lot, and we’re trying to find a better balance.

One thing that we think might be affecting the win rate is Focus Mode – an incredibly powerful tool for the invaded player that many casual players don’t seem to know about (If you’re reading this and don’t use Focus much, give it a try next time you get Invaded!) Our next patch will include more tutorials about this, so perhaps that will throw things back in Karl’s favour!

With all that being said, we’re going to keep proactively monitoring the win rate moving forward to see how it shifts and changes as a result of the latest patch. I’m very grateful to see all the positive comments about invasion since release, and for the suggestions and feedback people have made when they think something could be improved.

If you’re finding bugs in-game, please continue to let us know through the usual support portal - it’s very helpful!

Beyond the above, we've just released a small hotfix to address the following crashes impacting some players:

  • Fixed a crash with perk selection.
  • Fixed an occasional crash with rendering explosive/interactable object flashes.
  • Fixed a memory leak when loading levels repeatedly (Xbox only).
  • Fixed occasional crash where a wounded AI could attempt to rescue (and pick up) themselves.

Good luck out there Snipers!

Speak soon,
Tom

Sniper Elite 5 | Landing Force DLC | Update 1.21

📣 Community Event Update: After smashing all our Marksman Event targets, we have now added M81 and 'P.Kohle Scoper' scopes as a reward for the successful completion of the live event.

---

Attention snipers,

Welcome to the latest update from the Sniper Elite 5 development team here at Rebellion.
It has been a busy time in the studio as we have just launched our first big batch of additional content for the game since its release in May. You can see a trailer showcasing the new content here.

Firstly, we are delighted to announce that we have just released a brand-new multiplayer map free to all players. ‘Flooded Village’ is available in all multiplayer modes, including No Cross. All you need to do is make sure that your game is updated.

The new map draws inspiration from the images of Normandy during the events of D-Day, as the Nazis deliberately opened locks and breached flood defences in an effort to keep the Allied Forces at bay.

With a number of great vantage points, ideal for No Cross, as well as lowlands, a causeway, and railway bridge, Flooded Village offers its own unique set of challenges and opportunities for great solo and team-based multiplayer warfare. Make sure you try it out!

We have also just launched the first selection of content from Season Pass One including a new mission called ‘Landing Force’ and two new weapons.

Available to buy either as part of the Landing Force Mission and Weapon Pack, or as part of the full Season Pass One, the new content is live on digital stores now.

Landing Force takes place on its own sprawling island off the coast of southern France. The Nazis have taken what was once a luxury resort and weaponised it to become the ultimate coastal defence.

Inspired by the classic film ‘The Guns of Navarone’ the new mission is dominated by a huge gun battery that has been carved into the mountainside and provides a looming threat over the entire map.

Set at night to intensify the feeling of stealth, our hero Karl Fairburne, lands on the island - tasked with taking out the gun battery before shutting down the nearby lighthouse. This will give the signal to the Allied fleet that they can now begin Operation Dragoon in an effort to take back control of France.

There is an awful lot for you to explore and discover on the island including a variety of different buildings, scenery, and landscapes as well as ancient ruins, forts, walls, and abandoned structures. All of these will reveal more of the history of the island as well as providing Karl with key intelligence about his mission. We think you’re going to love it!

We also have two new weapons launching today – one for stealth play (the D.L. Carbine) and the other for more bombastic moments (PPSH submachine gun).

Thanks to its integrated suppressor and subsonic ammunition, the D.L. Carbine is one of the quietest firearms ever made. It can eliminate targets at long-range producing only the merest whisper. This helps to make it the perfect weapon for covert operations behind enemy lines and therefore ideal for players in Sniper Elite 5.

On the louder side we have the PPSH submachine gun, which is also available now. Firing at an astonishing rate of over 1100 rounds per minute it is often referred to as the “burp gun” thanks to the noise it creates when fired.

The PPSH is the perfect “get out of jail” card for those moments when things go wrong and you need to get out of a bad situation. Hold down the trigger and let the carnage commence.

However, a gun that gets through rounds as quickly as this will also need a bigger magazine so be sure to search out the hidden workbench that will unlock the 71-round drum.

Both of the new weapons and the Landing Force mission are available to buy now as part of the Landing Force Mission and Weapon Pack or as part of Season Pass One. The Flooded Village multiplayer map is free to all players now while the P.1938 Suppressed pistol, previously only available as a pre-order item, is also now available to purchase.

The keen-eyed sharp shooters amongst you will have noticed a significant update has just been deployed. We hope you are all enjoying the Landing Force DLC and the free Flooded Village multiplayer map. Below is a list of the contents of the update, as well as several bugs that were fixed.

New Sniper Elite 5 Content

⭐ Added free 'Flooded Village' multiplayer map

The new Multiplayer map "Flooded Village" pits players against one another across the vast fields and paths of a rural farming village that’s been intentionally flooded in order to prevent allied aircraft from landing. Flooded Village can be played in all multiplayer modes, including No Cross and boasts the longest shots so far in SE5's multiplayer to date. There are plenty of vantage points to be found here and more mobile players will find a number of useful flanking routes.

⭐ Added a 'Shooting Range'

We've added a new Shooting Range' area that contains everything you need in order to fine tune your arsenal prior to entering the field. There are a number of ranges that contain targets at known distances, so you can get the hang of 'zeroing' your scope, try out different attachments and build optimal loadouts for each of the game modes. You can access different loadouts, game modes and difficulty settings via and in game workbench, which can be found next to each of the ranges. The Shooting Range itself can be accessed from the main menu.

⭐ Invite your friends to join as Invaders using the social menu

We've added a much requested feature that allows players that have been invited to games via the 'Invite Code' system to choose to join as an enemy Invader or a co-operative partner.
Added Support for 'Landing Force' Mission and Weapon Pack (D.L. Carbine, PPSH, 'Landing Force' Mission)

⭐ Added support for 'Kick Voting'

During multiplayer matches, any player can now start a vote to kick another player via the 'player card'. Other players are then notified, and are able to vote. If a player hasn't voted by the time the timer expires, it counts as a 'no', There are cooldown timers preventing a single player from initiating new votes against lots of different players. You also can't kick a player if the result would be an empty team. Results are calculated as a simple majority.

⭐ Mark as "Ready" to start sooner

Players entering multiplayer lobbies now have a 'Ready' checkbox they can freely toggle on/off. When the majority of players have confirmed they're ready, a countdown timer will be auto initiated (in custom lobbies). If all players are ready, any active timer is dramatically shortened (quickmatch and custom lobbies). In either case, the game will start when the timer expires.

Sniper Elite 5 | Marksman Community Event

Calling all elite Snipers!

Lock and load for Sniper Elite 5's debut Community Event where we'll be putting your skills to the test on the frontlines from Monday 11 July, 3pm BST to Monday 25th July, 3pm BST. Simply play as you normally would to contribute to the 3 x targets we've challenged you with - if you complete all 3 targets within the two week deadline, the Community will collectively unlock exclusive in-game rewards and more!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnFcvM6w3T8

Tracking your Progress

Unlike our previous Evil Genius 2 Community Events, this event operates on a point-based system. We’ll reward each of you a set number of points depending on the type of kill you achieve – that’s right, we won’t reward you for just any old kill! This will require patience, precision and above all else, the collaborative efforts of the Sniper Elite community.

Keep an eye on this webpage to keep track of how you’re progressing as a Community, that way you can shift your focus based on which of our 3 x targets needs attention.

Invasion Kills

Get AI kills in the standard campaign to contribute to this objective or embrace Invasion Mode to unlock max points for taking out your Axis opponent:

  • Invading Player Kills - 125 Points
  • Allied Player Kills - 50 Points
  • AI Killsx10 - 1 Points

Sniper Kills

Put your talent to the test with this objective. Achieve headshot kills across any game mode to earn points - the longer the shot, the more points you will receive.

  • Headshot Kills Achieved: (1 point for every 10 metres)

Sharpshooter Kills

A sniper's work is solitary, silent and precise. Take out opponents in any game mode to contribute points to this objective. Hit specific body parts to achieve extra points...the testicle shot reigns supreme.

  • Testicle Shot - 15 points
  • Heart Shot – 5 points
  • Any other organ shot x10 – 1 point

Rewards

If the Community successfully hit the three targets we’ve set in 2 weeks, you will unlock the P.K Berlin axis Scope, available on the RSC 1918, G43 and Kar98k, as well as the M81 ally scope, which will be available on the M1 Carbine and SREM. These will be accessible to every player on Tuesday 26 July.

Not only that, but you’ll also unlock a 25% Discount on Sniper Elite Merchandise for a limited time via our official Rebellion store.

Sniper Elite 5 Patch, FREE Map & Dev Update | 27.06.22

The Sniper Elite 5 development team is working hard to improve the game and headshot as many of those pesky bugs as possible. As always, we’ve been keeping a close eye on your feedback, with the Community and Support teams making sure nothing gets missed.

It’s been great to see how many of you have really got into playing Invasion Mode. Watching videos and reading stories of the awesome cat and mouse sniper showdowns people have been experiencing has made all the hard work worthwhile. As a result of the ongoing Community feedback we’ve received, we’ve made various improvements and fixes to Invasion Mode. We’ve done some balancing to make the Invader a little less powerful, have reduced them down to 1 grenade and 1 landmine, and have swapped out some of their skills. The ambition is to keep proactively balancing Invasion Mode moving forward as the way people play changes over time – but for now, the Invader will have to work a little bit harder for their kills!

We’ve also removed the bonus XP for simply playing with invasions on and have fixed a reported bug by which players could be invaded immediately after another invasion ended. We always intended to allow time between invasions and as a result of this update you’ll likely find you’re being invaded less regularly, especially on the first few levels. (If you want to be invaded as much as possible, either play later levels or use the re-matching system).

Additionally we have removed the ability for hosts to kick invaders from the game and we’ve re-balanced the anti-AFK timer. Allied players will never get killed or kicked for camping and will have a bit more time before the timer starts. Invaders can now pass through Axis AI, meaning you’ll no longer get blocked at doorways or narrow paths. You now also don’t have to worry about your Allied character talking too much as Invaders can no longer hear the Allied player talking to themselves. You might have noticed that you will see a normal HUD even if you invade a game in Authentic mode – this was to make things a bit easier for less experienced Invaders. There’s now a setting in the Options menu that disables that, so if you invade a game in Authentic, you won’t have a HUD either.

Seeing how much players have been engaging with the deep weapon customisation, perfecting different setups based on their varying playstyle has been really satisfying. We’ve made some small tweaks to weapons, such as applying a slightly slower ‘Time to Aim’ for the rifles and reducing how easily the Kar98K can become a 1 hit killing machine.

The Field Report that appears at the end of a mission has had a visual overhaul along with some under the hood improvements. We can’t wait to see more of you trying to reach the extreme points of the playstyle graph across various levels – so don’t forget to share your reports with our social channels. We’ve been in awe at just how good at stealth so many of you are.

Beyond the above, we’ve also been listening to player feedback regarding controller dead zones which we know has been a hot topic since launch. With that in mind, we’ve made some improvements to smooth out the transition, whilst also looking into further support for future patches.

Along with these changes there have been many other tweaks and additions, such as a FOV slider on PC, camera improvements, making the Teller Mine more likely to be triggered by passing vehicles, and various level and unlock fixes, to name but a few. For a more comprehensive list, see our full patch notes below.

As a final note, we’re delighted to release a FREE Multiplayer map as part of this update, as a thank you for the Community’s ongoing patience since launch. The existing No-Cross map Urban Ruins is now playable at night in our Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Squad Match modes. Not only that, but we’ve added more cover to the central park and opened up areas of the map for varying angles of attack so you’ll need to explore and engage with your new vantage points.

With that, please do keep your feedback coming in via our various Community spaces. We hope you continue to enjoy the game and, until next time, happy hunting!

Accessibility:

It's been great that so many people have been submitting their accessibility challenges with Sniper Elite 5 and we're thrilled to say that we have some new features to help! One of the most requested features, Aim Toggle, has now been added - and includes compatibility with PS5 Haptic Triggers. As well as this, and in the vein of motor accessibility, we have introduced a toggle for the Radial Menu and movement features to make it easier for you to navigate the world without held buttons.
Our Field of View slider is available on PC and allows you to adjust the FoV between 60 and 120, which we hope will help those of you with motion sickness.

As always, we want to make sure we're helping our players and removing unnecessary barriers - please continue to reach out through our Accessibility Discord channel, the Help Centre or via twitter.
