2017 Development Update

Hi everyone,

This blog post is long overdue! 2017 has been an exceptionally busy year so far and I haven’t had a chance to stop and put a blog post together - let alone stay as active as I want on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Discord and various other threads on different forums.

I’m sure many of you must be wondering what’s going on. Long story short, we are still here and are still 100% focused on creating new content and features for SNOW. But video game development is not easy and things can be easily delayed. For the sake of transparency I’m going to attempt to give you an in-depth look at what we’ve been up to for the last few months and how this has affected our release schedule. I will then provide you with an overview of what we’re planning for the rest of the year for SNOW.

Please keep in mind that while I’m being as transparent as I can, nothing I write should be seen as a certainty. Dates might (and probably will) change, features might get delayed or even reworked, and some things might get cut entirely.

The blog post is pretty lengthy and includes lots of screenshots and gifs. So instead of trying to post it all here, you can view the entire post on SNOW's website here:

X Games Norway Out Now!

Welcome to X Games Norway, out now on Steam!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Uefqll6QmM
X Games Norway takes place in Hafjell, Norway, between March 8th and 11th and features both Slopestyle and Big Air events. The biggest and best riders from around the world have descended on the Norwegian mountains and are getting ready to compete there for the rest of the week.

Instead of just watching the event, you can now compete in it as well! We have worked with ESPN and the X Games Norway crew to recreate the exact course from Hafjell so that you can ride the same rails and jumps as the pros are this week.

The new mountain, which includes 2 events cost 349 Credits but will be on a launch discount for the remainder of the week. The events (Slopestyle and Big Air) include two exclusive X Games Norway rewards, for those that win the Gold Medal.

Good luck, and enjoy the course!

Winter X Games 2017 Out Now!

That's right - we just launched the Winter X Games 2017 level in SNOW so you can ride the exact same courses as the real pros are doing this weekend!

The level includes 3 events: Big Air, Slopestyle and Super Pipe. Each event features a different exclusive X Games reward which you will unlock once you've achieved the Gold Medal.

The level usually costs 399 Credits, but for just this weekend, it will be on discount for 299 Credits! The 2016 X Games level is also on super discount for just this weekend, so if you haven't had a chance to check out that course yet, now's your chance!

Good luck, and enjoy the Winter X Games Aspen 2017 course!

Game Update 0.9.0 Out Now!

We just released the massive 0.9 Game Update! The update includes lots of new features, content, polish and fixes.

The biggest feature is the new Prop Tool. The Prop Tool allows you dynamically place props across the mountain. This feature opens up the mountain to your creativity and totally changes how you view the landscape and the lines you have been riding.

We have also added over 100 items from nearly a dozen of the biggest snowboarding brands in the world! Now you can finally ride in style as a snowboarder by buying clothing and equipment from brands like DC, Capita, Von Zipper, Union, Electric, Coal, Bonfire, Sessions, Bent Metal, Gnu and LibTech!

Head over to our website for a full write up of what's new: http://www.snowthegame.com/news/snow-m9-is-here/

PLAYSTATION®4 BETA!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fB-WV5XszwI
We just announced the release date of our PLAYSTATION®4 BETA.

See more on our website.

The same day as the SNOW falls on PLAYSTATION®4, we're releasing an update to the PC version, with some bug fixes and new content. More info will be released soon!

UPDATE: Unfortunately due to some last minute issues, we have been forced to delay the launch of SNOW on PlayStation 4 by one week.

Though we hate to do this, and know how frustrating it is to hear that a game you're excited to play has been delayed, we hope you can continue being patient for one more week. We promise it will be worth it :)

The new launch for SNOW on PlayStation 4 (and update on PC) will be on October 25th.

Multiplayer Server Outage

Saturday we saw an outage of our multiplayer servers.

Removing SNOW from Steam Inventory

A few people have asked us if they could remove their SNOW inventories from their Steam profiles, and until now it hasn't been possible.

We've now set up a system for this.

If you wish to have your inventory hidden from Steam, please send an email to info@poppermost.se, stating that you want your inventory hidden and with your Steam profile url in it.

The Steam profile url looks something like this: steamcommunity.com/id/poppermost but has your name instead of poppermost.

Please note that this will prevent you from trading and using the market. You can still play the game.

Bugfix Update

A patch was released today to fix an exploit that we noticed earlier this month.

Server-Side Multiplayer Update

A server side update is now live:

  • Fixed several issues relating to Snowmobiles in Multiplayer gameplay
  • Fixed actor type (snowboard / skier) not always syncing across the network correctly
  • Fixed issue relating to HTTP error code not being handled correctly
