SojournVR is being retired

Hello everyone,

The development of this game has been extremely slow over the last 6 months because I wasn't able to work on it full time anymore and today I have recently decided to retire the game from the steam store.

Anyone who still has a copy of the game will be able to play until June 2020, after that the game will reach end-of-life.

I would recommend anyone who currently owns SojournVR and hasn't played for 2 hours should request a full refund through steam support: https://help.steampowered.com/en/

I know this decision will disappoint some of the remaining hardcore fans but it was not possible to continue development on this game.

Double EXP Weekend has begun!

Hello everyone,

Starting Friday at 7:00 AM CST (12:00pm UTC) all EXP earned for the weekend will be doubled. This affects all skills including combat, mining, smelting, ect. The event will run until 7:00pm CST Sunday (12:00am UTC). This event is the first test of the event system and there will be similar events in the future. I will also be online for some of the day Friday if people want to hang out and ask me questions about the game or whatever else.

Release 1.3.4a - Character Customization

Hello everyone,

The last two weeks I focused on character customization. So now you can choose your character's hair, cloths, gender, ect. You will only be able to set your character's body properties once (e.g. their head type, hair style, hair color, ect.). You will however be able to change their cloths at any time in the future.

Release 1.3.3a

Hello everyone,

This update contains support for multiple characters. This means that now you can have more than one character and you can delete your current character if you want to start over. You must have at least one character so the option for deleting your character will not appear unless you have at least 2 characters. Your bank is shared between characters, so you can easily share items between characters using your bank.

New Features







I am now working on character customization support, which will allow you to change the appearance of your character (gender, hair, cloths, ect.). This will take at least two weeks. If there are bugs reported in this patch I will do a patch next Tuesday that contains fixes for this patch.

Release 1.3.2a

Hello everyone,

This release contains a huge update to the player toolbelt. The toolbelt can now hold two tools and a sword. The side the sword is on can be configured in the in-game menu. The entire toolbelt can also be reversed so that the tools are on the opposite side (for left handed players). If you had items in your toolbelt, they have been moved to your inventory. If you had items in your toolbelt and your inventory was full, then your items have been moved to your bank. There were only a couple of players that had a full inventory when this update occurred so it shouldn't be too imposing. A bank can be found in either Labistre City or in the Outskirts.

I'm hoping by next week I will have the character selection screen finished, which will allow players to have multiple characters. I'm not sure if I will able to have character customization done by then but I am making progress on that as well.

Release 1.3.0 Patch

Hello everyone,

A patch has just been applied that fixed many issues reported by users in the discord channel. Here is a list of the issues fixed:













There is also now a menu option to end a raid if you're currently in a raid. Also an option to turn off occlusion culling has been added. If you are being bottlenecked by your cpu, you may get better performance by turning occlusion culling off. However, it is generally better to leave occlusion culling enabled.

Release 1.3.0a (Combat Update)

I have taken a lot of input from the community for this update and I expect to take a lot of input from the community for the next few patches so if you would like to be part of the discussion, please join the discord server (permalink below). I also use the discord for bug reporting and typically I can get a bug fixed by the next patch so if you are experiencing an issue that you would like fixed there's a good chance I can get it fixed quickly if you post it in the discord.

If there are any major issues with this update then I can do another update either this week or next Tuesday. If there aren't any major issues then the next update should be at the end of the month.

Release 1.3.0a delayed

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately I will have to push back 1.3.0a (the combat update) another week. I don't want to make excuses however I wasn't able to work full time the last 2 weeks but my work schedule is back to normal for the foreseeable future. The content for the actual patch is done but it still needs to be balanced and polished more. I could release the patch today but it's such a big update that I want to make sure that there aren't any issues with it before I release it to everyone. Also it should be noted that this is the first part of the combat update and the rest of the features that didn't make it into this patch should make it into the patch that will be at the end of August.

I will release 1.3.0a in a week or less and I will post an overview of all of the features in the patch.

If have questions on the upcoming patch, please consider joining the discord. I typically respond quickly to feature requests/questions so it's a good place to get answers and up to date information.
