We are excited to introduce Somnium Blockchain AVATARs — an ability to tokenize your custom VR avatars directly from Somnium PC client.
The history was made — first ever Somnium VR AVATAR has been tokenized on Ethereum blockchain and became an NFT token.
Virtual goods are a huge market in billions of dollars, but most of this revenue goes to the creators of the platforms and not the creators of the goods themselves.There are non official secondary markets where creators can earn some money, but those markets are not transparent and secure. We are solving this with BLOCKCHAIN Avatars. Somnium Space will only thrive, if creators prosper and can securely monetize their creations. With Avatars on the blockchain we give ALL the control to the creator. The creator will upload his amazing creation and decide how many copies will be created. For example, if an Avatar is one of a kind in a limited edition, the creator can expect to sell it at a premium. All avatars source files are secured with double encryption which makes it virtually impossible to copy someone else’s avatar even from run-time.

In-world Economy: How to participate
CUBEs were always meant to be a real use case cryptocurrency. A true utility token which allows you to exist inside our Virtual Reality Metaverse. If you are a creator who builds structures or avatar models you will need CUBEs. If you are an artist who wants to sell tickets to his performance — you will need CUBEs. If you want to utilize Somnium Transportation System and travel inside our VR world by Teleportation Hubs or other means of transport — you will need CUBEs. But there is much more.
During the next 2 weeks, we will be launching the first major CUBEs utility use-case which is minting your own full body virtual reality avatars onto blockchain. This is a real revolution in a way how creators can protect and monetize their creations. Because having a VR avatar is one of the most important part of self representation inside Metaverse (yes, our blockchain avatars will be usable in all major virtual worlds across digital spaces), we believe this will spark an amazing marketplace of truly beautiful and functional avatars. This can be regarded as the beginning of the CUBE ecosystem and a true start of our in world economy.
As outlined in our Economy Paper we have several pillars of in-game economy:

Take Me To Your Burn is one huge collaborative experience with artists, musicians, labels, party organizers, guides, teachers and lecturers. It’s an experience the world has never seen, but which reflects the true spirit of Burning Man. To get a sense of the huge scale, check the following list:
- 40+ artists will present different kinds of digital art, virtual reality builds and installations in specially prepared 30 or so galleries in the virtual world
- 150+ DJ’s are going to play at 5 VR stages dedicated to records, labels and big projects and at special open stage for solo DJ’s. Every set will be streamed live or on demand from within Somnium Space on Twitch and YouTube
- 30+ Musicians and bands will play live music at Main concert stage and at open mic stage for solo musicians
- 20+ workshops and lectures with different topics like spirituality, eco-living, health and fitness, at 4 special stages and installations that we built for the event
- Collaboration with record labels Kamino Records and Mindspring Music
- Collaboration with party/festival organizations Fusion Culture and Own Spirit Festival

Introducing CREATORS CONTEST! It will be running starting from 3rd of August until 17th of August. We have prepared more than 3500$ worth of prizes in Somnium Space Cubes and Ethereum currencies!
In order to maximize your chance of winning a prize we suggest to create themed builds with a seamless integration of several technologies our Builder provides.
